.i frank started off with the notorious
hyena group when the city went to hell.
he fit in quite well, his brute strength
and overall demeanor helping the group
get what they needed. but when he had
to start physically hurting others to get
what they desired, he had a 'change' of
heart. his days in the marine started
to kick in and he felt that this wasn't
right. he soon after left the group and
turned to the police force to try and
stop the group from doing what he had
previously done. being an ex-member
of the group means that seeing them
and trying to catch them and even do
them harm is a struggle as they were
his family for a small amount of time.

History: Although Hallee’s mom died when she was fairly young due to an illness, her father was killed by a Hyena when she was 17. No one knows why the fight had happened, but they know who had done it. This situation had drawn her to being a police officer, since she had been very close with him.

Austen, when perceived from a stranger's eye, is often viewed as uptight and cold. She plays the "tough" and "indifferent" role very well, being wary of pretty much everyone while sticking to those she knows on a personal level. To strangers, she's short and curt, answering questions with one-word sentences or by brushing off their questions entirely. Many assume it's some odd superiority complex she carries, believing she's above slumming it with the common townsfolk as if she's some forsaken princess and, instead of countering these claims as she once did in her youth, she has now come to accept them. Why argue with the close-minded when they'll only believe what they want to believe in the end? So, stubborn and rude she remains to be seen as.
In actuality, however, Austen is possibly the softest person you might come to meet in a world such as this. She's timid and kind, especially to the younger civilians she resides with. She seems to get along better with the children than with others her age, being able to show this softer side of her without much shame. When it comes to interacting with those of her age, she tends to be a bit more of a stuttering and clumsy mess, making herself look like a fool in an attempt to seem cooler than she truly is.

Austen is the oldest child of two, raised by a single father in Sydney, Australia before the world fell apart. When the coasts rose and the water rushed the lands, they were pushed out of their home and were forced to move inland before they made their way to the states. They holed up in an abandoned shelter, managing with food and water before for a short time but just barely. Austen knew they would perish soon, if something wasn't done. So she joined the first bandit group that didn't threaten to kill her on the spot. With each hit, she brought back everything to her father and brother, fighting to keep them going, too keep them alive. She did good until her father got sick. He soon perished, forcing Austen to abandon her looter duties to care for her brother and the pair fled from the group to ensure their safety. However, even now as they take shelter in Atlanta, her attraction and interest to the life of The Hyenas grows ever stronger and while she is ever weary of their strength and lack of care for the lives of the civilians, a part of her is increasingly interested in the group, despite the danger they pose.

Given August's rather short height - standing at a mere 4'10 - coupled with his rather immature behavior, one would believe him to be at least nine or ten and that's being generous. The boy is irritating, to say the least, whining when he wants something and following behind people he admires like a lost puppy in need of attention. He can be quite a handful, eve when the situation is serious. August can be rather dense when it comes to certain situations. Sarcasm goes right over his head and a tense scenario seems like the prim opportunity for a joke or teasing in his eyes. Rarely, it's appreciated, him seeming to have a knack for lightening the mood when everyone is stressed but he occasionally understands when people snap at him or smack em upside the head if it's warranted. That still won't bar him from protesting though. August likes to act fearless and unbothered by the threats that the dog-eat-dog world has to offer, often claiming that he could take whatever is thrown at him. But put him in a situation that requires a level head and strategy and he's screaming and scrambling away the first chance he gets.

Whereas Austen remembers their mother and a time when food was easier to come by and such, majority of August's memory is made up of what the world is now. He can barely remember the lull of their mother's voice and vaguely recall the luxury of a long hot bath but only if he thinks long and hard (something he doesn't do often). He was only eight when their father passed, leaving him in the hands of his beloved older sister. He loves the girl dearly but, as sibling relationships go, he takes great pleasure in driving her mad. He's absolutely terrified of the Hyenas, seeming to be under the impression that they'll murder him in his sleep and, while he does know of her previous looting occupation, remains unaware of her interest in the group.
