Kal Tryout {Theory}

How To Play:
This is an interactive story. Read the post and follow the instructions at the bottom.



You wake up in an abandoned looking town wondering how you ended up in this place. The last thing you can remember is a shadowy figure walking towards you. As you stand up a Kalon appears in front of you, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. You fall back, startled by the sudden appearance.
"Welcome to the game." He speaks. His voiced laced with confidence. "You will be presented with two options. One leads to the next level and the other will lead to your sudden doom."
The Kalon's tail flicks back and forth, a grin spread across his face. A sense of dread grabs onto your heart. The Kalon disappears, but you can still feel his presence surrounding you.
Suddenly you are in a small dark room, presented with two doors. The door to your left is made of a beautiful oak wood, sadly the beauty of the door is destroyed by the jaggedly carved pentagram carved into the middle of it. The door gives off a sad vibe, almost as though something on the other side is stuck there. The door to the right looks like it was made carelessly, the materials worn and ready to break. There are many small holes in it, but it is to dark to see the other side. In the center of the door is a miss placed cross. It look to be carved delicately into the door, a subtle glowing coming from it.
"So do you pick the left door?" The Kal's voice echoes in the room. "Or do you choose the right door?"

You reach out towards the left door. As you turn the handle to open it the door is thrown open, out runs a small little pixie. She looks to be frightened. She runs past you and disappears into the wall opposite of you. You look back towards the open door, it seemingly calls to you, beckoning you to step inside.
"So, you have managed to pick the correct door." The voice from earlier echoes throughout the new room, mocking you.
The room is almost to dark to see in, but you manage by squinting your eyes. In front of you there are two large tree trucks with large archways carved into them. Looking around and beyond the two tree trucks you notice the room you were once in changed into a large forest. You could barely see more than the trucks of the trees, everything was giant. You contemplate your chances if you were to walk into the forest, there must be an end to this forest.
"I wouldn't try that if I were you." The voice speaks from above you, as if the Kal was reading your mind. "If you walk into that forest you will never walk back out. You will be stuck walking through there for the rest of eternity."
Taking in that information you decide to just stick with picking one of the two arch ways.
"So," The Kal speaks again. "Do you pick the left or the right archway?"

You reach out towards the right door. The light from the cross glows brighter the closer you get to it. As your hand touches the door handle the light becomes blinding and the door is thrown open. Your vision suddenly turns black and you are unable to see anything.
"Wrong choice." The Kal laughs at you from somewhere near by. "Not all things surrounded by light are good. You shadows aren't made in the dark."
You feel your eyes close as everything around you starts to to become deafeningly loud.

You take a deep shaky breath and step through the Left Archway. On the inside you see a set of stairs that continues as far as your eyes can see.
"Well you don't have any time to waste. There is a long way to go." The voice chuckles from somewhere above you.
You began your long ascend up the never ending staircase. Hours, days, maybe even months have gone by since you began the walk up the stairs. Or it could have just been mere moments.
After ages you begin to see a light that progressively gets brighter. The exit seems to look familiar, but you can't quite place where you saw it before. As you step through your vision starts to go back. A chuckling can be heard from somewhere around you.
"Turns out you can't win this game we play. Have fun staring over again." Suddenly you remember where you saw the exit. This wasn't the first time you crossed this threshold.

You take a deep breath and begin to walk towards the Right archway, suddenly you see a person in the trees. The turn towards you.
"Where are they?" They scream at you. "Where are the archways?"
The person begins to run at you screaming. You stumble back trying to get away, but your feet seem to be stuck in place. Right before the person hits you they disappear.
"Take to long and they will pull you into the forest with them." The Kal's voice rings out startling you. You begin to walk into the archway, your heart beating loud in your ears.
"Well you don't have any time to waste. There is a long way to go." The voice chuckles from somewhere above you.
