Xander rushes towards them and picks up the man by his shirt. "Is there anymore of you!?" Xander is angry and is holding a dagger to his neck. The guard goes over and grabs the gold and checks on Catherine.

Catherine watched Xander and couldn’t help but be impressed by his bravery. She looked up as the guard walked over, no change in her frightened facial expression. She moved her tied wrists closer to him “C-can you uh- can you cut these?” she stammered, glancing at the one guy’s body on the ground.

The man held up his hands, eyes wide. “Uh- no. It was just us.” he said, his voice came out stiff, nervous at the dagger by his throat.

The guard cuts her ropes and then stands guard. Xander looks at the man and throws him on the ground. "Take him to the jail then put the money away." Xander then goes over to Catherine worried. "Are you alright Catherine..? He holds her lightly

Catherine frowned as Xander walked over, relief washed over her to see him. Before she could even fight the urge, tears streamed down her cheeks. She slipped her arms around him and buried her face in his shirt “Thank you,” she mumbled without picking up her head.

"Anything for you Catherine." Xander picks her up and wonders to about the direction she goes to get home. "You will have to guide me to your home... I dont know where it is..." The guard grabs the guy roughly and chains him up and takes him to jail. Then the guard goes to the vault and puts the bag of money on the ground and goes back to his duties. He did take an extra gold or two for his troubles.

Catherine laid her head down on his shoulder after he picked her up. She looked up at him and nodded “Just keep going straight, I’ll tell you when to turn.” she murmured. She looked at the wrist on her free arm and frowned, it was quite bruised. She wrapped it loosely back around his neck and looked up at him again, almost wishing he didn’t have to go back home, she didn’t want him to leave.

Xander keeps going straight following her directions. He looked down at him and smiled, though his face was mostly covered by cloth. "I am going to make sure your safe tonight, I am going to stay near your house for the night. In the morning I'll have guards posted around here for a few days." He held her closer.

Catherine nodded and looked up at him, a small smile lifted her lips, glad that she was with him again. “Well. I- uh. Do you have to be near the house? Not in it?” she asked nervously before she looked away, her cheeks burning. She was still scared, even if the men were taken care of, and having him close would make her feel better.
