A Glorious Comeback (1x! with *Adashi*)

“Okay, okay, sure. Fine. Then we’ll maybe ask the vault hunters for help, Zero was willing to help. Fiona is down and Sasha probably won’t, but maybe Vaughn and Tim will help as well. We have options." Rhys says, trying to soothe him.

Jack just makes a very unhappy noise but seems to agree with the suggestion for now. He's definitely not happy one little bit about all of this, but he seems to be put to some ease with the idea of asking the vault hunters for help, even if they were most likely not going to give it.

“Jack. Everything is gonna be okay. We'll take care of this. I took Hyperion down once, I can do it again. We've both survived this long. We aren't going down because Hyperion thinks it can send some operatives to do their own dirty work." Rhys pushes himself closer to Jack, and wraps his arms around the man to hold him.

Jack just mumbled and buried his face into rhys shoulder, trying to keep his spikes from puffing out while his tail moves in a much more rigid manner now to show his very uneased and unhappy mood.

“Its okay." Rhys repeats, more confident this time, rubbing Jack’s back gently. “We’ll be okay.” He pulls Jack practically flat against his chest and pulls him back as he lays down, keeping him there with a sigh.

Jack huffs softly but seems to settle and relax more, shifting a bit to get comfortable when rhys lays back. "I'd tell you to stop, but i don't want you to now... And your comfortable. Why are you so stupidly good at this comfort thing?" He mumbled.

“Honestly, I’ve never really gotten this far. Sasha usually yelled at me.” Rhys admits, looking at the ceiling. “Not in a mean way. In a sort of ‘youre bad at this and I want to be left alone’ way.”

Jack makes a noise at that, huffs and mumbles something under his breath about sasha before he shifts a bit more, then sits up and gives rhys a kiss. Tail moving more fluidly now.

Rhys is about to ask Jack about the mumble, though Jack eventually sits up and kisses him. He makes a noise but returns the kiss, able to relax with the reassurance that Jack wouldn’t remain mad at him.

Jack hummed ever so faintly as he held the kiss for a bit longer. He pulls away after a bit longer before laying back down ontop of rhys with the softest of purrs now.
