Never kept a French Lop but I adore my Giants. Most outgoing, even tempered, cuddly, and absolutely friendly rabbits I've ever known.

Many other breeds will be very wary when you first bring them home. Even after getting to know you will still be timid. Giants, however, are outgoing and curious to the point of being downright pushy right from the start.

They really are more like dogs than rabbits. Just be very mindful of picking them up, their backs are fragile just from their sheer size and weight and they can tear you up with those bear paw feet.

ah nice! i've found that larger rabbits are usually more mellow and calm, but i've never owned either of those guys.
i haven't owned a guinea pig before but my friend has, and i know a little bit about them?? they have pretty similar diets: timothy hay, vegetables, pellets, and a little bit of fruit, but of course the quantities vary. from what i heard from my friend rabbits need more attention than guinea pigs but i'm not totally sure. also, rabbits are a bit hardier than guinea pigs. that's pretty much all i know about guinea pigs vs rabbits, sorry :')

and also, happy easter to everyone who celebrates it! go cuddle your bunny - or if they don't like cuddling then give them one of their favorite veggies <3

Happy Easter! :D

I might be getting a new rabbit in the next week or so... it's from a friend of a coworker. We'll see how that works out. lol And spring has FINALLY arrived here, so it's lovely outside for the rabbits to be in the shed. I'll be able to move them all here soon. Yaaaaay! Totally stealing the dog play pen from my parents for them to run around. lol

I wouldn't say more attention... you should keep at least 2 and if they have company and a few toys (just cardboard boxes or empty toilet paper rolls can also work very well), then they don't need much attention at all. O.o

I'd never feed pellets and bunnies should not get that much veggies & fruits. Especially not carrots, I'd like to mention this again.
Mostly greens and having hay available all the time. I am aware that there are good pellets (just pressed herbs or dried vegetables, nothing processed or with grains), however it is just more expensive than a good ol' salad and that is better for their teeth anyway.

ah thanks raire, i really have no idea about guinea pigs :')

i know that some people feed their rabbits a lot of pellets, but i just feed them as treats to my adult lop. and i agree, greens are pretty much healthier and cost less than most pellets.

good luck with transferring them outside! c:

IMO there are actually a lot of better treats than pellets.
For example the good ol' carrot :D or parsley roots (which I call the healthier alternative to carrots lol), flowers if they eat them, fruits or even nuts.
But since I don't know what your pellets consist of, I don't want to say too much.
Please just make sure that there aren't any grains/wheat in them. ^^

My rabbits:
New Zealand/Californian|Doe|Alfredo
Californian|Buck|Parmesan
Unknown(black with silver guard hairs and feet any help with ID would be greatly appreciated)|Doe|Tortellini

These are my breeding stock. Currently waiting for them to grow up and summer to end. I'm raising for meat and to sell. I learned that this is very expensive to start but it seems like after it is set up the only recurring cost is feed. I'm trying to set up a watering system that only uses one bottle for all three (and eventually the grow-out cages.) Anyone have design advise?

Dont worry, not all are bad ;) you can give pellets to youre guinea or rabbit, you just need to watch that they are good and healthy for them, no suggr or such inside.
i think we use versele-laga with some other nature rabbit food right now...but could be wrong, to fruit, vegi, herbs and fresh green food
Please klick them or they will die°°!!!

I need help with a few things. First off, I want to make a watering system that goes to 5 cages and is fed from one big bottle. I have no clue where to even start with this. There are 2 and then 2 more on top of them. The 5th is on the otherside of the path but can be moved. I'm actually planning to move them all closer to the house since I no longer have to worry about our dog(RIP) bothering them. Can anyone help me with designing this?
