Peppermint didn't seem calmed at all. In fact, she was even more freaked out upon being picked up. Not that you could really even tell, at this point. She did the best she could to curl into a ball, going almost completely unresponsive. Her tiny heartbeat was thumping faster than what would seem humanly possible, well, considering she was much, much smaller. Her fur remained puffed out, and she pulled her paws, which continued to tremble, over her ears.
(As you could guess, Peppermint got pretty overwhelmed and freaked out oof.)

(Poor bab's had a rough life. She doesn't react well to new situations after living on the same street for years.)
Christina nodded, and handed it to Juan. She looked at Peppermint, a sad expression on her face.
"Poor girl.." She said softly, wishing she knew how to comfort the distressed pokemon.
Peppermint hung limp as a ragdoll, her face shielded by her ears flopping down. Her tail coiled in a lazy loop as she was lifted, her paws just barely brushing up against it.

OOC: Ah yeah, I'm used to that.

Juan had Christina hold the Skitty as he gave her the injection. He disposed of the needle and watched Peppermint closely. "We'll get some pain killers on board too." he said, "If you wanna start an IV, I'll examine her."

(Oof. Hope you're doing better now ^^)
Wordlessly, Christina got to work, preparing an IV. She also started filling out a report, sadly noting the frantic state of Peppermint upon being removed from her cage. She also added, as a note, it might be a good idea to include a hiding slit in whatever type of enclosure or cage she was kept in while healing. She finished the IV, and brought it over.

OOC: Oh yeah. I work at a no-kill shelter, so sometimes the cats we get in are kinda angry.
BIC:
Juan inserted the IV into her paw and set her back in her crate. He wanted her to settle down and go to sleep before he started messing with the leg. "I believe the president will be stopping by soon." he said, glancing to Christina, "She likes to make sure all of the Pokemon get everything they need." Mary's ears twitched as she listened to the humans.

(Ah. I want to volunteer at a shelter too, tbh. I have a couple of cats, and we had to bathe them for fleas, so I've definitely seen an angry cat myself, lol)
Christina froze.
"Wait, what? H-here?"
Right now?? The president herself!? Suddenly, she felt a lot more self conscious than usual. She glanced down at her lab coat, messy with half-dried water, dirt, fur, and all kinds of other tidbits and grime. While the pokemon were the main concern, she couldn't help but worry about a first impression. Would it look like she was very focused? Or just sloppy and careless??? She didn't know these kind of things!!

OOC: It's rewarding for sure! I like that I can get attached to some of the "lifer" cats. I've been volunteering for about 10 years and there's still a few cats that I pretty much grew up with. c=

Juan looked to Christina and couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, she won't pay you any mind." he said, "She likes checking up on the new Pokemon. She really loves all kinds of Pokemon." Juan checked on Peppermint before picking her up and taking her to the x-ray lab. Mary looked to Christina and calmly stood up. She went to the young woman's side and sat down.

(that's really cool! I kinda feel bad for the cats that live there forever though tbh)
"A-ah." She looked over at Mary, and wondered what she wanted.
"Hey, girlie. Whatcha want? Are you hungry?" They probably hadn't eaten much since.. whenever they'd been left, honestly. She should probably start prepping some food for them. She ran her hand through the now noticable shortened, sweet-smelling fur, thinking to herself.
