Aralynn knew she should refuse the deal. Someone with more common sense would have definetly refused to take the deal in a heartbeat. Some psychopathic hooded man wanting to exchange protecting her sister and Akihito in exchange for her keeping him healthy and fed? The protection of an apparent blood guzling psychopath no less at that. If Aralynn agreed to this arangement, then the blonde would be no different then a living meal for Duality. Once more this was to be a secret affair...in fact the man's very exsistance was to be kept between just the pair of them. Taking a breath closing her eyes, "Yes there are only two in line to take the throne after me, a boy and a girl. And both are very dear to me, so if you even think about trying to harm either one of them...!" The young queen trailed off not really sure how to finish that train of thought. Was there anything that could be done if her escorr decided to go after either Heir? After seeing the little bit of what Duality was capable of, as small a glimpse as it may have been, not likely. Still the teen didn't need time to think about her decision. The choice was obvious if still crazy. There wasn't much the young women could do to help the situation, but at least with this deal there was some small contribution which the teen could make. As long as there was an opportunity like this out there Aralynn would not pass it up.

He roared, his cats getting up and walking towards Ruby.

Kenji watched her as she moved off the large horse with an inquisitive stare. He nodded his head curtly. "Entering the castle grounds- even the stables- is forbidden for most people. However, I am positive that giving the equine some treats aren't harmful." He shifted on his feet and took a step closer to her. "My horse is in the castle stables. His name is Zephyr and he is a black Arabian- per regulation for the army. Say," he paused not realizing what he was about to say to her. Was he about to break the rules he helped enforce? "Did you want to come see him? I was already heading that way and if you are escorted by me- no one will give you a second glance for seeing the horses."

His owners didn’t want him doing that...Shaking her head, she lifted her gaze to Kenji once more. She felt her lips twitch slightly at his suggestion. Brushing some hair from her eyes, she said “Y...Yeah, Yes, I’d love to be escorted by you, to see him. Arabians are so pretty.” she finished. She giggled at the gelding’s snort and huff, petting him a moment. “Oh, you’re beautiful too.” she told the gelding.

He smiled when she finally turned to their server, the woman dipping her head a moment then nodding. He watched the lady server hurry off, turning back to Akira and the stranger. What neither he nor Akira noticed was the fuss starting up in the back, a hooded figure managing to escape out the back...They probably wouldn’t have seen that anyhow. His brow furrowed when Akira looked at the fruit funny, then she told him not to eat it... “What? What’s wrong?” he whispered back, having not noticed anything about the fruit, yet.

He made a low sound, looking abit closer at the blueberries but not touching them...Nor letting his lips anywhere near them. Aralynn turned back around to face the male. She stared at his outstreched hand before looking up at his face, or at least what she could make out. It was difficult to make out any defining features thanks to the sunlight coming through the windows lighting Duality up from the back. All the queen could really see clearly was a bright red glow she assumed were his eyes. Bright red glowing eyes... Aralynn reached forward hesitantly, fingers curling a bit before the blonde teen let her hand drop into Duality's grasp and shake. "I agree to your terms."

Ronin's eyes widened as the girl mentioned the butterfly insignia, but before he could reply, a boy - her brother? - walked iver with food and the two found a table together. He nodded to her as she walked away, his mind reeling. Someone else who was looking for the scarlet butterfly as well? Surely not... He kept a close eye on the siblings as they ate, and noticed the concern that crossed their face, the hushed whispers. Was something wrong? Ronin was considering approaching them, asking if everything was alright, when he suddenly didn't feel so great. He looked down at himself, and the half-eaten bread roll in his hand, and suddenly started to panic. Surely... surely that's not what they were concerned about? There was no way... He coughed, and looked at the blood that had formed in his hand. Something wasn't right...

Looking back over at the man she had been talking to, she noticed the guy had coughed up blood, and her eyes went wide. Did....did he get caught in the crossfire or something? "Aki.....forget Aralynn. We need to help him. We are the heirs, after all...." frowning, she considered their options. Is was important to help this guy, but they also needed to let Aralynn know as soon as possible about what had happened. " Alright, here's an idea. You get this guy to the hospital or something. I'll go find Aralynn. Deal?"

With a smirk he moved to whisper in her ear. " It's not like I can blame you if you are. Didn't your mother teal you not to make deals with monsters?" he questioned, running a few fingers over her neck before he turned his back to her, beginning to walk away. " Well, I really must be going now, I've already ate today so I have no need to stick around. You're free to do as you please for the time being. " turning back to look at her, he still refused to take down his hood. " Though I will say this. See if you can figure out what my name is. There's two other names I have besides the nickname I told you. Good luck. You'll need it." he then froze in his steps again, recalling something. " Oh, and for future reference, I would recommend investing in some scarves, or at least some outfits that cover that pretty little neck of yours. We wouldn't want anyone questioning things, now would we?"

'You're beautiful too' Kenji jerked his head up in disbelief at the brazen redhead standing nearby. It took him a full thirty seconds to realize she was speaking to the horse rather than about himself. A blush would surely blossom on his high cheekbones if it wasn't for the fact he was a vampire who was always unnaturally pale. Still, the embarrassment was still there and fresh in his mind. He rubbed his large hand over his suddenly dry mouth and shook his head slowly. What was he thinking? It had been a while since he had companionship but this was pretty sad for a military general. He turned to the direction of the palace stables and gestured for her to follow with a flick of his wrist. "The horses owned by the king are quite amazing but I am afraid they aren't used to much in terms of affections. They are trained to run and not be frightened by the sounds of battle." He glanced back at the girl leading her horse and sensed the shift in the mood. Playful and cheery wasn't his nature. He was a stone-cold killer and he could never forget the blood that stained his hands. He deserved to be punished for the crimes he committed in the name of the king- in the name of being a vampire. And the wars have only just begun really- and he was going to be apart of the slayings. There was no way companionship on any level will be an option. Not when he was so close to possible permanent death. He turned away again. He should simply let this girl go on without him to the stable. He soured his own mood and really showing her around wasn't the best idea. Still, he hesitated to tell her that he would be on his way. Instead, he said, "I will show you to the stables where you can get reacquainted to the equine there- but I have to admit I don't think I can keep idle there. We... I have a lot of things I need to do to prepare for the day's events."
