Foxpaw continued onward though he wasn't really listening to Lilypaw's chattering. His ears we're pricked and his eyes we're narrowed. He had to concentrate on catching something. He stopped and his ears twitched before he narrowed in on his prey. With a swipe of his tongue he pounced into a clump of shrubs and emerged with a squirrel between his jaws. He sat it down on the ground and quickly buried it. He then continued on without a word his tail swaying slowly.

Lilypaw was in awe of what Foxpaw just got, he just straight up pounced on a squirrel. Lilypaw narrowed her eyes, now understanding that she needed to be serious about this. Lily opened her mouth, tasting the air. She could smell two squirrels in the trees.. when she spotted them. They were small and thin but they were food. ”Hey... spot me and then grab the other squirrel.. I’m almost sure I can’t grab both..” lily extended her claws and dug them into the soft bark of the tree. She thrusted herself up, and grabbed and hoisted until she was on top of the tree.

He crouched down waiting to pounce and run in case they ran his way. He watched from the ground silent as a fox. He would certainly do this even, if it was just to show Stormpaw. Lilypaw scampered after one, losing her grip on one of them only to catch the other by its tail. She ripped it off, putting the squirrel in a state of shock before killing it swiftly. Lily then turned, chasing the other squirrel down the tree to Foxpaw. It seemed that both of these catches were sheer luck, not at all skill. Lilypaw sighed, jumping down from the tree with the squirrel in her mouth. ”man.. that was tough..” she breathed

Foxpaw shot after the squirrel that had fled. He bounded after it his paws pounding on the ground. He then lunged landing on it. He finished it off quickly before bounding back toward Lilypaw. He dropped the squirrel, and tilted his head slightly. His ears pricked at her words. "Nothing we couldn't handle." he said and turned away. There was still a lot of hunting to do.

Lily watched as Foxpaw chased after the squirrel in awe. He was so fast and.. skilled. He jumped or well.. pounced on the poor soul, killing it quickly. Foxpaw agreed that they should look somewhere else. So, he changed direction and began looking for a new area to hunt. His tail swayed as he made his way through the few shrubs there we're. He was absently aware of Lilypaw talking. With the mention of Stormpaw's name he was brought out of his thoughts. He smiled knowing that they would beat Stormpaw. They could do that any day. But nothing could prepare him for the next question Lilypaw asked. He was taken off guard by the question. He stopped for a moment and thought. "Hm. I don't really know. I mean once we're older we'll be able to do more. Like leave camp without worrying our mentors. Train our own apprentices. I guess if you want a mate you could find one." he said as he kicked at a small pebble. He then continued. "And who knows? Maybe, one day one of us could be become deputy. But yeah. There's a lot of stuff." he said beginning to pad onward. He didn't like talking about his future. It was one of the rare things he couldn't control. But for now he would focus on hunting. Not the future.

Lily nodded ”if by some rare occurrence I become leader, I’m gonna make you deputy okay? But you have to promise the same.” Lilypaw smiled, pounding after him ”a Mate? Hmm.. I guess I never really thought of having one. Seems like it would be a bother.. having someone worry about you all the time.” lily laughed. With those few words it’s was fairly obvious she wasn’t super loved or cared for as a child. Her father was always out of camp and eventually left her for her mother to live a rouge life. ”what about you Foxpaw? Do you want a Mate?” Lily’s tail twitched as she tasted the air.. still nothing. But her nose was pretty bad so she wouldn’t say anything about moving on just yet.
