"I mean- in a way they could be. It's not like they could be serving the anyone at the moment if the halls are so barren." Cyrus stated as he glanced around the halls once again, just in case there were any staff members around, because like again, if they caught them, then that could spell out trouble for the both of them. He glanced at Wendy when she continued on about Spike, nodding slightly. "But maybe so your companion could help us, just as long as he doesn't fetch us anything dangerous, for I do not want to be put up with the work of dealing with the problem. And I doubt that you do either." he muttered as he continued to ponder about sudden lack of staff members. Perhaps they are dealing with some sort of ordeal that couldn't be solved as quickly as they hoped? Or they were just wandering aimlessly around the halls, looking for some sort of trouble to keep their busy minds at bay? Of course, those two were complete nonsense and wouldn't be likely as some of the staff members are persistent in their work, and wouldn't like the idea of getting fired and thrown out on the streets to fend for themselves. That's already a problem.
His turned his attention away from his mind as Wendy began to spoke, this time about what she came here, searching for. And of course, he hadn't thought about to bring the question up on why she was here. He tilted his head a little, "Of course, dropping books on each other's heads can be put aside. But can I question you on what are you searching for? Because of the moment, it seems clear to me that we won't find anything or anyone at this place at the moment."

Her tail wagged once Valac started to pet her. Even though she hated it, she somehow found it quite calming. She looked at him and smiled a little, but it dropped, "You better- I won't be able to have someone help me pillage the town." She laughed a little to herself before poking his neck with her snout, finally finding a resting spot for her head. She rested her head on his neck and closed her eyes. Everest didn't reply to the thank you that the angel gave her, instead she waited until Valac was sound asleep, hoping that he would heal later towards the evening, or by morning at the latest.

Mary watched as Nico settled down. He sat there for a moment before copying what he did, snuggling down in his blanket. But the only difference was that the little lamb's head was poking out from the blanket. Mary looked at Nico to see if he was doing it correctly, but once he found out that he wasn't, he rolled over onto his back and looked up, pondering for a moment about a story to tell, since Nico didn't have one. He then grinned a little when an idea came into his little head of his, "How about...we both make up a stwoy together? Like I say somethin' and you awdd on. Like a wo...woo," he paused, looking intensely at the 'ceiling' of the fort. He knew the word, but it kept changing every time he tried to say it. He blinked a couple of times, repeating the word in his head over and over again until the 'correct' pronunciation popped up in his head, "A wooette!" Of course, he was trying to pronounce roulette, but nothing ever worked out for him. He was just ten.

Her eyes flew open once there was a loud noise that she couldn't really distinguish. She crawled out of her make-shift bed before moving forward towards the walls, pressing her body up against the wall and raising up a pointed ear to listen closely to the sound. What Stellaluna didn't know, was the fact that whatever was creating the noise was probably loud enough to wake the whole manor up! Which of course, would not happen, but a little bat could dream, right? The bat shook her head before dropping down to the floor, soon to scamper over towards a small hole in the wall. She managed to get her head through the hole, turning her head to spot a creature much larger than her. But much smaller than Cyrus. Who was this creature? Was it Cyrus? Probably. To get the creature's attention, Stellaluna squeaked before trying to squeeze herself from the hole.
