Sinbad looked at her. "It's my fault."

Sonja looked at him, and said quietly, "I've stopped trying to blame people for death," she said. "Not when I know it's nobodies fault but mine." She sat down again and hung her head, covering her eyes with her hands like one weary. "I've given up hope, Sinbad. I might as well be dead, that's how much my life is worth to me now."

Sinbad looked at her sadly. He gently removed her hands. "You have so much to live for, Sonja. And this was not your fault. It was mine."

Sonja pulled away from him and stood up, spreading her arms wide. "Look at me," she demanded angrily. "I'll never be able to fight again, so I can't even avenge Darius' death. I can't stop my comrades from being hanged. I'll have to throw away the life I've created for myself as the legendary Sabre. Without my mask, I am nothing."

Sinbad stood up and looked at her. "Sonja, you have a new reputation to try and make. And you don't have to avenge his death. I already have." He looked at his blood soaked hands.

[Nope, you have to wait to be accepted, just like everyone else. I'm pretty sure that's in the rules.]

Sonja let her hands fall, thinking about this. Then she turned away from Sinbad and thrust the warped and ruined sword back into the fire. "Leave me alone for a while, okay? I need to think." Without waiting for an answer, she hefted her top fuller and brought it down with a loud clang on the twisted blade.

[Anomaly]

Sinbad watched her sadly. "Alright..." He went out of the room but didn't stray too far. He knew that he would be needed. He didn't know why.

Sonja grunted for him to leave, and saw him do so out of the corner of her eye. She continued to smash the warped sword with her rounded hammer, finally coming out with a blade that was twisted but quite deadly looking. The young woman dunked it into a cooling trough and breathed deep the smell of iron-filled steam, then took out the blade and began affixing it to a black leather hilt.
