Act of Kindness Story:
Her paws flew across the keyboard as she tapped out her words with narrowed eyes and a look of intense focus. This was one of her favorite parts of her day, but that didn't mean that Lynn didn't take it seriously. After all, she'd been one of the small group that had started this website and one of even fewer who still kept it running. The idea was simple: to provide a support group for those who didn't have anyone around to give them that necessary attention. They could choose to join others in a group, or chat one-on-one with qualified volunteers - like herself, of course!
Through her days she liked to think she'd helped a lot of different people going through a lot of different problems. After all, she attempted to get on here every day, even though occasionally she had to miss a day just because life was crazy and hectic. Today's kalon who needed a little nudge in the right direction was simply a teenage kalon stressed out by high school and their life in general.
Carefully, Lynn reassured the girl. School wouldn't last forever, and grades didn't mean as much as most people made them out to. She could make new friends after she graduated, and move on to doing things she actually wanted to do. She just needed to hang in there a little bit longer and show the world how much of a glorious fighter she was! The girl seemed quite receptive to Lynn's advice, and after about an hour seemed much more cheerful and optimistic than she had been. Lynn grinned unabashedly at her computer screen. Mission success! Another happy customer - even though the visitors didn't pay anything.
"I'll see you again tomorrow," Lynn crowed as she wished the girl a happy farewell, making sure she'd come back if things got tough again. Then she signed off, feeling a little lighter and brighter for the good she'd done.

Lynn is what most would call a 'firecracker'. She has a wicked sense of humor and is almost impossible to predict. Always filled with energy and ready and raring to try new things. She has a close group of tight-knit friends who can deal with her occasional wildness, and treats them like gold. Even though she's happy with where her life is at, she always wants to see where the future can take her and how good things can be. She'll never settle down or settle for something that isn't what it could be.

The first time...
"Why did I think this was a good idea? Why? Why did I think this would be cool?" She shuddered and her voice was high-pitched enough to crack glass - good thing there was none around. The intricate layers of straps some teenager paid to work here had slipped and buckled over her dug into her chest as her heart pounded almost painfully and her breath became harder and harder to catch. The worker on the platform with her just gave her a sympathetic smile, they probably saw this sort of thing all of the time and didn't even bother to say anything now. Brielle took a deep breath, trying in vain to steady herself.
Then she looked down. Down, at the ground, almost five hundred feet below the smiling woman at the entrance had gladly told her.
For some reason, she'd taken that as an invitation to do something fun and let them strap her into this weird gear she didn't entirely trust to keep her firmly clamped on the end of the long cord they were now fishing up. It was still attached to the last Kalon who had jumped, who's hysterical laughing sent shivers down her spine. Was this jump going to drive her crazy? Why were their eyes so big like that??
As the Kalon arrived back up onto the safety of the platform, they gave her a wicked smile and a thumbs-up. Brielle considered if she could dart back down the long flight of stairs before they noticed, as the elevator would surely be too obvious.
Somewhere down below, her friends waited, watching. She thought she heard one of them scream, "You can do it!!" Oh no. Did that mean it was her turn already? She closed her eyes to take another breath and when she opened them, someone was already hooking the cord to her chest.
Shaking like a newborn horse, Brielle forced her body to step up onto the tiny platform. It seemed to waver under her weight. "I don't know if I can do this," She said out loud, but the workers ignored it easily and continued about readying her for the fall. One tugged on the cord pretty hard and smiled reassuringly when it stayed in place. As if his strength was comparable to a five hundred foot fall.
Someone was counting down. Oh no. No. No. No.
But as it turned out, it wasn't her choice. When they got to three, she felt someone behind her lightly push and with no choice, she picked up her legs and jumped as far away from the platform if she could. She at least was going out with some dignity, not from banging her head on the little piece of metal.
She screamed the whole way down, but...
It was wonderful. Glorious. It really did feel like flying. When the cord yanked her skyward again it hurt a little, but she didn't even notice. She was so glad she'd done it.

Extra 1:
Brielle is your average young Kalon - besides, of course, the fact that she got dragged into a group of daredevils always looking for the next adrenaline rush despite being an enormous scaredycat who would rather stay at home and make cookies or something. Somehow she always gets pulled along to swim with sharks, or skydive, or something equally terrifying that will inevitably bring her to shaking and tears before the event even takes place. They always cheer her on and do it as well, but that does little to quell her fright. But there are very few things that they've brought her along to do that she isn't happy she's done once she's actually finished. Many of them call her an 'undercover adrenaline junkie', teasing that she only fakes being scared to make it even better once it's done.
Most people who meet her would never imagine the list of accomplishments like this she has tucked under her belt and crossed off her bucket list. Especially if they meet her at her place of work, where she's a full-time librarian handing out bits of candy to children and carefully organizing books and wiping away dust. Such a quiet, peaceful place where she's obviously at home and totally in her element.
Her job couldn't make her happier. Brielle's surrounded by the books that she loves, gets to meet new people who adore the same things, and still has time to hang out with her friends after work. She even brings in cookies and things for those who come to check out books, and even occasionally toys for the children to encourage them to read - for example, read five books and she'll give them a doll or a toy car from the bucket she keeps under her desk.

Extra 2:
Brielle is a bit of an enigma personality-wise. Most of the time she's a quiet, polite, if a bit mysterious figure that others can feel comfortable around. She gives off a very warm and welcoming aura that draws a lot of children and animals to her as well. She's not one to argue or get into any sort of intense discussion, and would rather back down than fight for herself or anyone or anything else, really. She works hard at her job, and is passionate about it, but not in an outward way that's obvious to people she's meeting.
She's very close to her family and friends, and hopes to one day add a mate and children to her life. Not now, of course, but it's something she often thinks about when she sees someone attractive or a very cute baby.
When she's out with her friends she is a bit more outgoing and loud, but nothing compared to a lot of the crazier ones of her group. She has a lot of hobbies that she's very invested in, like collecting different types of stones, and studying historical mysteries.
