He nodded slightly. It was always worth doing the extra background reading - especially if there was a particular focus on certain plants that they would be studying. "I will do," Skylar replied, making a mental note of the suggestion. His curiosity was also piqued as he wondered what the specific marshy plants were. He would quite like to get a headstart in studying up for them, although he supposed it wouldn't matter too much if he didn't find out in advance. No doubt if he did, he'd get more eyerolls from a few other students in the class - they thought that he didn't see them, even though he often did, whenever he recieved praise or on the rare occasion that he answered a question. He shook those thoughts away, then refocused on the Professor's question.
"It was good. I visited Thornside's Greenhouse and Nursery a few times. They had some particularly rowdy Fanged Germaniums that I helped a little with. How was your summer, Professor?" Skylar replied, then glanced away, as though embarrassed by this. He was, a little. For one, he just didn't really like talking about his achievements because he didn't want to seem like he was bragging, and also because as part of his end-of-year exams a couple of years ago he was assigned an especially fierce, venomous sub-species of Fanged Germanium, which he'd been bitten by and had ended up in the hospital wing for a couple of weeks - which he was embarrassed by.
Then, Skylar seemed more curious. He'd heard about the Ford Anglia in the Forbidden Forest, but he didn't know that it was still there. "It's still there? It must look quite interesting by now, being in the Forbidden Forest for so long." He commented, thinking about it for a moment.

He glanced towards Lia, with another frown. "That's Lee-Jae to you and everyone else." Lee-Jae responded, a little sharply. He hated nicknames or having his name shortened - it wasn't that hard to say or pronounce, and just felt disrespectful to himself and his parents. Also off-putting. Then, he rolled his eyes again. "I barely know who you are anyway." Lee-Jae added. He knew her sister, Isabeau, quite well, yes, but he hardly found the need to know or remember the Hufflepuff and the other sibling that he vaguely remembered there being. The make up comment was also quite irritating, though he reminded himself that she was just a kid before he ended up thinking up a hex to use.
Lee-Jae then glanced towards Alistair again. "Actual parties? Or boring gatherings of purebloods talking about the same three things over and over again?" He was a pureblood himself, yes, but that didn't mean that he was going to stick up for the boring ones or those with a superiority complex.
Hearing the whisper, Lee-Jae sighed sharply before glowering at the two. "There's nothing wrong with liking the way I look in eyeliner. And myself in general. Just because I'm open about it." He responded to them, before preening himself for a few moments more until he finally put the mirror away.
