Sail the Seas (Pirate RP Needs Members!)

Sinbad sighed. "You're not going to give up? You need time to heal. I'll do it." Sinbad gently removed the mat from her hands and ran, doing flips and jumps up to the roof.

"I'll heal when I'm dead!" called Sonja, glaring at him as he took the reed mat and ran it up to the roof. Then she frowned, reached down, and wrapped her calloused hands around a stout wooden beam. She grunted slightly as she raised it, but managed to tilt it upright, wedging it into the frame where it had been before Sinbad crashed into it on his fall from the roof.

"No one should have to die..." Sinbad whispered as he placed that mat over the opening and fixed it. He didn't know what her problem was. Nor what happened before he came to this world.

"Yeah?" snapped Sonja, remembering those who had passed away just the day before, and those who had fought so valiantly to prevent their deaths. "Well, people die all the time, if you hadn't noticed." Her voice was tense and sharp, more so than it would be if those things hadn't happened. She grabbed another of the supporting posts and heaved it up, her anger giving her strength.

"I know they do. The thing is, you shouldn't be working yourself to death." He jumped down and helped her. "I've lost friends to. Especially during the shipwreck. An inventor, a sorceress, a mute dagger throwing African... My own brother." He shook his head. "All in one day."

"How about coming home from a long voyage, watching your uncle hanged for piracy, and seeing a crazed Navy Officer killing your aunt and baby cousin?" snapped Sonja, knowing that she was wallowing in self-pity and obviously not caring. She snatched up the third and last post and shoved it into place with a snarl when it snagged on the corner of the house.

"You were saying about quick fingers?" Rodney said with a small smirk, holding a small leather pouch of coins in his hand. Rodney grinned at Melody, even the thought of getting caught seemed more fun and less painful now.

Ingo smiled, feeling better now about herself and life in general, she still had her parents on her mind but the thought of finding them was slowly being shifted away, so much so that she wasn't dwelling on it anymore.

Sinbad looked at him. "I'm sorry." He helped her set the braces and whispered, "There. That should do it." He looked at her at a different perspective. They had both lost people in their lives. He shook his head.

Sonja nodded, turning away from Sinbad and testing the post with her hand to make sure it was sturdy. She kept her head down so he wouldn't see her green eyes filled with tears, and so she wouldn't have to be shamed by them. Pirates don't cry.

"Well, that'll do it," laughed Melody. "Come on in, maybe now we can buy a decent meal, maybe have a bit of fun before we go back to the docks." Even under the grimy headscarf, stiff gray tunic and snagged skirt, her freckles still stood out on her pale skin, green eyes stilled twinkled merrily. A thin lock of fiercely scarlet hair looped down onto her shoulder as she laughed.

Liam grinned, and led Ingo to a table. A large chalkboard above the bar on the other side of the room showed the day's menu- it was mostly simple foods, stew, chicken, fried fish, and the like.

Sinbad bit his lip and gently took her hand. "Sonja, it's ok to cry." He gently squeezed her hand and whispered, "Crying always helps." A brand on his neck showed of a hawk. One that he was ashamed for. It was the one he got when he came here. That he was a pirate. And he was branded... permanently.
