Alessa was rather reluctant to get out of the van. "I-I want Mary..." she winced, wiping her eyes. She didn't understand why he had taken them, rather than reaching out earlier. "H-how d-did you even find me?" she asked.

Liam slowly stood up, helping Alessa out of the vehicle “come on.” He said softly, pulling her into his arms again.

Ryan looked at her and sighed softly “I’m sorry baby, I couldn’t get to you because your mother forced me to sign away my rights.” He told her “I knew you were in the orphanage and I was going to try and adopt you but I couldn’t.”

Alessa didn't have anything to say. She was trying to process everything that he had told her. She just kept crying, wanting to go home with her friend.

Liam held her close, trying to comfort her “shh..” he shushed her gently “it’s okay.” He was terrified himself but he was being strong for Alessa.

Ryan sighed and put a gentle hand on Alessa’s shoulder “I’m sorry.” He whispered “you will like it here, I promise.”

Alessa flinched as Ryan touched her. She didn't want to go into the house, nor did she want to interact with him. "Take us home!" she demanded.

Liam growled at Ryan and pulled Alessa closer.

Ryan sighed and moved away “Alessa, you know I can’t.” He said and crossed his arms “I’m trying to be nice to you, but you’re being so difficult.” He snapped and looked at his house “you two will like it here and if you don’t, you’ll learn to.”

"No, I don't want to stay here!" she barked, pinning her ears back, "I want to go back to Mary!" It absolutely terrified her that she was talking back to an adult, but she knew this situation was totally wrong.

Liam pulled her back and shushed her “Alessa, we’ll figure a way out.” He whispered softly.

Ryan growled and grabbed her arm, not tight enough to hurt her but tight enough to pull her away from Liam “look, Mary can’t protect you from her.” He said and looked down at her “here you’re safe, anywhere else you’re not.

"She can too!" she winced, trying to pull her arm back. Alessa looked to Liam, nervous about coming up with a plan to get out of this mess.

Liam looked at her and gave her a reassuring smile before taking her paw gently “okay, can you tell us where our room is?” He asked.

Ryan smiled slightly and nodded, calling a maid to lead them to their rooms.
