Seedwhisker heart nearly stopped when he heard the familiar voice of a lost clanmate call from behind a bush. The elder tom couldn't even get a word in before the cat that he knew at Skybird stepped out into the light. He was dirty. scarred and matted, but he was alive. The tom was thought to be dead after he chased a fox away and never returned. Search parties were sent out but to no avail. It was a devastating hit on the clan to lose such a young and strong warrior, but there he was standing in front of Seedwhisker's very eyes. "Oh my Starclan.... Skybird... Is that really you?". All the old tabby tom could do was simply stare in amazement and shock after he asked that question. Did he finally croak and go to Starclan, or was the lost warrior finally found?

Mintyflower thought she was going to pass out. The simple bluntness of Starlingthunders request made her dizzy. Help father her kit? Was she ready for that? Could she handle the emotional attachment? The whole situation made her head swirl. The molly jerked away from Starlingthunder and took a few steps back. "I... I... I don't know right now. I need some time to think about this." The she-cat had to admit that being with a handsome tom like Starlingthundrr and having help with her kit would be nice, but she didn't know this tom that well. She needed some time to think. "I will try to get back to you soon. I just can't make a decision like that right now." At that, Mintyflower bounded out of camp as fast as she could, not slowing down until she was a good distance away.

Skybird's body trembled from the intense emotions that plagued his being. Here in the flesh stood his former clanmate Seedwhisker. The memory of his disappearance flashed before his golden gaze. Never had he expected his loyalty to the clan to be the exact thing which tore him from it. The days and nights alone were torture. "It is me!" He expressed, his tail lashing in the air, an expression of pure surprise. "I prayed to Starclan everynight that I could find my way home. I barley know how much time has passed!" He bounded forward, his body surging towards the tabby. "How is everyone! The kittens! Flamestar!" He yowled, emotionally overwhelmed by the unexpected reunion. "I can barely believe my eyes!" Burying his dirty face against the older tom's neck, Skybird inhaled his scent.

Seedwhiskers heart burst with joy as he realized the cat in front of him really was Skybird. Before the old tom could even react, he was tackled to the ground by an overly excited Skybird. The newly found tom threw a bunch of questions at him, but one question dampened the joyful mood. "How is Flamerstar?" Skybird asked, still half laying on top of Seedwhisker. The tom gently pushed Skybird off and looked at him with a sad look, "Flamestar is dead. Lauralstar is our new leader now.". I know this must have been hard for the tom to hear, but he might as well know now before he reunites with the clan. The old grey tabby tom rested his tail on Skybirds shoulder, waiting to see his reaction.

the once-handsome now tattered tom flinched at the statement. skybird's heart sank. "w-w-what?" he stammered, his golden eyes growing wide, their sparkle fading in the painful dash of the moment. nothing was swifter than the death of a clanmate to kill the joy that sprang and expanded in his chest. replaced now by the painful realization that his former leader had passed, skybird fell back on his paws, slumped partially against the ground. suddenly, the forest felt larger and his heart was beating more rapidly in his chest. "h-how is this possible?" he asked, his inquiry featherlight and the disappointment clinging to his tone. "...h-how long have i been gone for?"

Seedwhisker doubled back in confusion when Skybird asked him how long he had been gone. Did he really not know? Anxiously shifting his paws, the elder tom look away from Skybird to collect himself, and then looked back. "Skybird... you have been gone ten moons." Seedwhisker cut his words off there, figuring adding anything more would decimate the poor cat in front of him. Trying to comfort him, Seedwhisker settled his tail over Skybird and layed his head on the tom's shoulder.

the dense sea of emerald ferns that surrounded the two reunited warriors appeared to swallow
the lost one. while skybird stood before seedwhisker, his remarkable presence a truth to the
mystery of his disappearance and considered death, skybird felt the world rupture beneath his
now ashen brown stained paws, formerly white. the question of time struck forward from the
vicious depths of confusion, slapping the tom across the face. the truth of the harsh reality
seemed to shake his very foundation. his previously trembling legs now shook viciously and the
color appeared to drain from his dirty face. ten moons. the phrase repeated it'self in a terrible
spiral, offering no avail to the sinking sensation of loss breached his high energy elation. nothing
seemed familar. gaze drawn down to his shaking paws, skybird's jaw parted temporarily, only to
be sealed by the audible clattering of fangs. "w-w-wha-at?" he inquired breathlessly, panic
claiming his tone. his once naturally bright golden eyes seemed to hide behind the amassing pain
which masked his expression.

skybird's veins turned to ice while the melody of the chirping birds suffered an assault from the
echoing of his racing heartbeat, hammering life to the painful crawl of silence. his stained paws
tingled and the moss pressing between his stature appeared to burn against the tender flesh. he
swayed lightly to and fro, "t-this....it...i-it..c-c-can't be true." skybird desired to run from the
words. he wanted to run home. the feeling of loss burned brightly as an ignited fire, blazing
through his bristling pelt that suffocated his words. "all i ever wanted to do was go home." he
rasped, his throat burning from the lack of moisture. "this...impossible."

Seedwhisker could tell Skybird did not take the news well, as he began to stumble and mumble almost incoherent words. Quickly, despite his already aching joints caused by the long walk here, Seedwhisker ran to Skybirds flank and pushed up against it with his flank to support him. "Take deep breaths little one.. take deep breaths.. everything is going to be ok". Seedwhiskers voice was light and comforting. The old tom wasn't quite sure why he called Skybird little one, considering he was anything but, but I guess due to his age anyone was a kit to Seedwhisker. "Take a moment, sit down, and collect yourself," the elder tabby tom cooed as he slowly led Skybird to a comfortable place to rest under an old tree, You must be fit to travel before we start heading back. Everyone will be overjoyed to see you. Seedwhisker hoped his words were somewhat comforting to the confused tom, but he knew Skybird needed some time to process it all. So, the elder gave him time.

Mintyflower started awake at the sound of an owl screeching in the distance. Oh mousedung.. how long have I been out? the blue-grey molly thought to herself, I better get back. Despite her bodies protests, the she-cat lifted herself up from her napping place and began to make her way back to camp. To pass the time, the expecting molly also thought about what she was going to tell Starlingthunder regarding his proposal. I am going to have to say something, Mintyflower thought to herself, but I am just so unsure. As she thought about it more, the more Mintyflower began to realize she only really had one real problem with Starlingthunders offer: She barely even knew the cat! Other than that fact, everything about the situation was perfect. Her future kit, or kits, would have a father and she could have someone to help integrate her into clan-life. All she needed to do was get to know the Starlingthunder better, a lot better. At that last thought, the she-cat arrived in camp and devised a plan to get to know Starlingthunder more. She padded into camp and began looking for him. "Starlingthunder! Starlingthuder!" she called as she began to pad around camp. Eventually, she found him walking with Doeblossom near the elders den. It was then she began to feel very awkward. Would Doeblossom mind if she talked to him? Would Starlingthunder get mad for disrupting their conversation? Wait a minute! the molly exclaimed internally, "If he really cares about me, he will make time for me. And who cares what Doeblossom thinks." The expecting she-cat rushed over to where Starlingthunder was walking and nudged him on the shoulder with her head. "Hey, can I talk to you for a second?" She waited for a response.

seedwhisker roused a valient effort to supporting the massive tom but to no avail, skybird's
colossol body appeared to slide against the elder's smaller body, the lost warrior collapsing
onto the forest floor, the world swirling violently around him. never had he felt so small despite
possessing such a large body and never had skybird lost faith in his belief he would return home.
the tom faintly registered the comforting words and phrases, his heartbeat struggling to manage
a proper speed and rhythm. "h-home...y-y-you're right." he stuttered faintly, his speech
dominatedby the revelation. he swallowed. the action caused the burning sensation to flare
once more. "yes,let's go home." it took a few moments for skybird to control himself but
eventually, as he alwaysdid, he returned to his paws. still trembling violently, skybird's tail
seemed to reach for the elder's own. it curled around his slightly, just enough that it kept
skybird from slipping underneathethe confusion and fear. as he walked, he naturally bumped
against the older tom and while he intended to apologize, no words manifested in his brain nor
slipped over his dry tongue. his jawsremained set, clamped together. "i-it's good to see you
seedwhisker. i never thought i'd make it home. thank you...thank you."

starlingthunder looked impatiently at doeblossom, awaiting a response that until that moment,
he was fairly convinced he was going to be granted. annoyed at the tom's direspect toward's
swampclan's newest member mintyflower, the silver-trout furred tom's pelt bristled and his ears
flicked back. it was only at mintyflower's voice and bounding approach did the toms' focus snap
away from doeblossom. "oh," he said, ears pricking towards the blue-grey she cat, "of course."
without further words to doeblossom, starlingthunder motioned for mintyflower and himself
to turn away. anticipation scathed through his fur. "yes mintyflower?" he asked finally, his
docile gaze set into her own. beneath his controlled exterior, the handsome tom was itching
to know how mintyflower would respond to his offer.

the apprentice gave up trying to get his mentor's attention, trotting away with a low growl. "fluff-for-brains," he muttered. he might as well take a nap or something, since he had nothing better to do.

doeblossom froze as mintyflower approached starlingthunder, staring at the tom as he left. of course. he couldn't wait for him to piece together a reasonable response, he had to run off with the former kittypet. he backed away a few pawsteps before turning and running from camp. how could he have been so flea-brained? any cat could've heard his words, of course starlingfeather did. why had he ever let himself feel so baited by the silver warrior? it must've been his pretty pelt. he wouldn't let it happen again. he'd keep his distance. if starlingfeather wanted to be with mintyflower, to choose her, he'd let him. why shouldn't he? doeblossom couldn't give him kits. he couldn't give him a family. mintyflower could. of course he'd be the second choice. what else could he be?

The warrior's tail lashed a few times as she tried to get her emotions in check as she looked around camp to find someone to talk to and her apprentice. Her apprentice. Mothpaw must be itching to head out of camp and to go hunting or show her abilities as it was coming close for the apprentice to become a warrior in a few moons. With that thought alone, what annoyance the tom had brought her was gone and replaced with a bit of pride.

As she looked around, she spotted her apprentice near the apprentice den and a small purr rose up in her chest. She had never really wanted to have kits before, she never really saw the appeal towards it, but being a mentor, that sorta started to make her think that having kits wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. As she started to make her way over, she noticed that the apprentice was talking with another and paused in her walk since she didn't want to interrupt and give them a little more time before going on with business.

The reddish black tom then emerged from the den with a yawn as he glanced around the camp, blinking the sleep from his eyes. He had been on a moonhigh patrol and had slept in later than he normally would. As he looked around the camp, he frowned when he didn't notice his apprentice. A worm of concern wiggled its way into his stomach as he walked over to the apprentice den and found only a faint scent of the younger tom.

"Has anyone seen Blastpaw?" The tom asked no one in particular as he continued his worried search around the camp. He knew that his apprentice was almost a warrior, but it still made the tom worry when he can't find him, especially since he knows of the younger toms history and how much he felt he bonded with him.

"Oh...well...hi," she said with a slight hint of a purr, which she flushed at because why would she purr? Well, the apprentice knew why she'd purr but why did it actually happen. The young apprentice could feel her fur getting warm the more she thought about it, so she had to think of something to distract herself from the thoughts.

"How's t-training going?" The calico asked as she looked back at the silver molly, although she couldn't help but stare a little because did the sun always reflect off the others pelt so marvelously?
