@middle earth I want to get into herbs and potions, too, but I'm always so scared of finding sources that misuse things. My coven has been reading Raymond Buckland's book on witchcraft and Wicca, and there were some things in the herbalism section that were absolutely dangerous without any sort of warning. But The Wild and Weedy Apothecary by Doreen Shababy is on our recommended reading list and that's what my high priestess always recommends when I ask. I haven't checked it out or verified anything in it,but that's what I'm going to be getting when I have the money.

Also shoot, I'm very disappointed it's not on iphone. I'll ask my friends if they've found any good tarot iphone apps. I also use the Labrynthos Academy app for memorizing tarot, and I know that one has an iphone app. My only hesitation with recommending that one is that it teaches using keywords, so if you're brand new, it might be hard to know how to apply the cards to different questions. It also doesn't have a function for doing different readings. It has a set list of questions and does a one card draw for them using the cards you've unlocked from the learning exercises.

Eventually...). I practice on and off depending on my daily life's insanely changeable dynamic. And apparently, according to every damn calculator I could find, my birth tarot card is the Wheel of Fortune :3 (thx fate gg)

I can totally understand about the BoS. There's a lot of information out there and trying to research all of it (and write it all down) is a fair bit of work. However, it's really nice to organize your BoS and style it however you wish. Then, you can look back on previous entries and feel proud. (I'm very proud of my own, I may share pictures here someday c:)

One tarot app that I've enjoyed (for both Android and iOS) is the Golden Thread Tarot app. It's by the same people as Labyrinthos Academy and even has a companion physical deck if you love it enough (I have the deck, for reference).

Another fun one is Vivi’s daily tarot. It’s like the kawaii tarot almost. It’s a noce tarot for a good mood.

Organizing sure takes a lot of time but I really hope I'll get to finish that little project of my own some day. I always get a tad bit excited whenever I come back to it. Actually, I was thinking about posting a pic of my (amateur lol) Sabbats wheel here and ask for some tips heh.

Btw kinda random question but do you guys have a deck (doesn't matter if you actually own it or not) that you just really like?

@FANDOMIZED There's a deck called the Tarot of Delphi that I really like. It has a lot of Victorian-era Greco-Roman-inspired art, and it's just overall really beautiful. It's out of print, though, and while it should be re-released soon, I don't know if I'll have the money for it when it gets re-released.

greetings! nice to see new members joined. and very interesting paths and interests
everyone has going on. about the BoS talk, i don't really keep one.. not because i don't
want to, but because all my witchy journaling goes straight to my actual journal. so it
works as my bujo, grimoire and BoS. i'm planning on making a separate one, starting on
samhain (which down here in argentina starts on april). at least is the one time of the
year i heard it's better to do so..

as of tarot decks, i normally use the RWS centennial version, but the borderless edition.
it's pretty straight-forward for me, always on the spot for the more daily, instant answer
like.. questions. the one that i actually use for more.. going deep and shadow work is the
textured tarot by lisa mc loughlin. stepping a little further and also talk about my oracle
decks; which is the botanical inspirations one by lynn araujo, perfect for broad questions
and they speak so clearly to me. on a more whimsical-meditative spread, i'd use the work
your light deck by rebecca campbell.
on another matter, my birth cards are the moon and the hermit. pisces, obviously LOL

i've been eyeing the Delphi tarot for a couple of days now, specially all the reviews and
walk-throughs on youtube. it's pretty amazing, and they'd work so well with the botanical
oracle. i might even try to get it once it's re-released.

hello, hun! welcome, haven't properly went throught last pages, so first time seeing you here.
uhm, there is no right deck to begin with. i don't personally like pip cards, so any marseille
inspired deck is not exactly my cup of tea. if you ask me, i'd suggest any edition of the rider
waite-smith, even if you don't actually use it. just so you get an idea of what each card means.
following the rws system i can suggest the morgan greer, the hanson-roberts, the aquarian decks.

there are some that follow the same system, but the same card can mean something different
depending on the artist's point of view. i'd suggest you watch a walkthough on youtube or check
the internet for the images and let yourself connect with that deck imagery.

i read someone on this thread said memorizing.. please, don't. that will eventually limit your own
readings. i suggest that you skim the little white book, even on the interest check as many other
readers info as much as you like. but you don't have to study, in the literal way.. like, no one is
gonna test you for the meanings. and i'm sorry if i took this to heart. i have nothing against the
way others find to learn the cards <3
