For me, I would add a legend explaining what the numbers and colours mean. Cause I read this and go I dunno what that means.

I believe the numbers are supposed to be how many months during each year that the pet was OMGSR, if i'm remembering things right? I agree, perhaps add that onto the chart itself somewhere. c:

Which sorting method do you guys prefer? I personally like the one sorted by rarity best but I'm not sure what we can do with the august pets since they were never anything other than VR. I guess sort them by litter and still chart them to show they are always VR.

I will do the July 08 Rats next, then the July/Aug Dogs.

I'm had a hard time following it at first as well o: but I believe it is a chart showing how many months out of each year the certain pets were OMGsr. I think it is amazing to have this information in one place but it is a little daunting to read. here is how I understand it:
The red box means that a pet was never OMGSR in that given year
A gray box means that the pet was OMGSR for less than half of the year(it looks like the cutoff is 6 months?)
A purple boxes mean that the pet was OMGSR for at least more then half of the year or the entire year
I think the second option sorted by rarity is much easier to read, it follows pretty nicely from the top being OMGSR the longest and gets lower as you go down.

I think this is the information that would be more helpful to have on the front, since even thought there is a little instruction it can still be overwhelming to put together

The above is why I said a legend is needed. Glancing st the chart, I had no idea what it meant and what it stood for. I kind of still don’t and the information is not on the front.
Legend
Red Box - Pet was VR for the whole of that year
Grey Box - Pet was a mix of both VR and OMGSR this year. See here to know what months the pet was VR and OMGSR
Purple Box - Pet was OMGSR for the whole of that year
Black box - Pet was not released that year.
Number - The number in the box represents how many months that pet was OMGSR for. IE: 7 - OMGSR status for 7 months.
On any graph a legend explaining what x y z means should always be present. It’s bothered me that it isn’t written in the graph but as a quick blurb
Also should it be important to mention when pets were VR for those who are VR, especially if those months were after rerelease?
