March Announcement
It’s officially March, can you believe it?? With a new month comes a new announcement post! This month brings several new changes, so make sure you read over it carefully, and don’t hesitate to direct message me on Discord, or private message me on CS with any questions.
Farmer’s Market
After doing the trial run of the Farmer’s Market and some deep thought, staff and I have come to the decision to remove the Farmer’s Market. This doesn’t take away items, there will be a complete inventory of every item and they will be purchasable/winnable during events, and even through raffles occasionally! The reasoning behind this change is that it will keep items more rare, as well as help members be motivated to participate in events. Along with the removal of the Farmer’s Market, this will eliminate milk bottles as currency. You will no longer be able to trade your Buttermilks for milk bottles, or recieve them through art/writing. (This aspect was never actually implemented so it shouldn’t matter too much.) However, a milk bottle item will be added to the item inventory, in honor of the original purpose!
Staff Icons
Along with the new header art, we are in the process of getting new staff icons. It will be a slightly slow moving process while I commission or create a new lineart and get everyone’s Buttermilks colored on to it, but it will be a nice refresher for the staff page!
Companions
With March comes possibly the most exciting news - companions! They will work a little bit differently than some might have anticipated. In order to get a companion, an item will need to be bought during an event or won through a raffle, and they will work similarly to orphan calves. These ‘gatcha’ items will be opened upon purchase/winning, and you will be added to a private list for staff to make your new companion. When the item is opened the type of animal you receive is determined via rolling marbles, similar to how traits are rolled in breedings. Companions will be made in order of purchase.
Because this aspect is still very new to the species, there is a high likelihood that some rules and how you get them will be changed.
