Kiel [kie-ll] [m] x Devona [di-vone-uh] [f]
how precious, how sweet
that you love the trees
but wouldn't you like to try this, babe?
"How precious, how sweet," the teenager cackled. "Tree hugger," he mocked. "You gonna' sprout some roses, babe?" His words stung like the rose's thorns. I simply ignored the boy, chuckling with his friends behind my chair. "Oh, baaaaa-bee, won't you come with us t'night? The party'll be pretty epic," Kiel droned on, his big brown eyes batting in my face. I rolled my eyes, his tactics pitiful.
"I don't smoke," I replied solemnly. "Or drink, or break the law," I allowed myself to snap, turning around now. "You pot-head, get away from me!" I ended up smacking him across the head, leaving a bright pink mark, and storming out of the cafeteria. My feet tapped across the tile of our high-school, heading towards the back exit. Idiot!
"Oh, Devona Devona," Kiel whinned following me with his gang, seemingly drunk as ever. He stumbled along the distance between us, catching up eventually. "Please come," he wiggled up to me, and I pushed him back.
Idiot, I thought. He still hand a red hand mark on his forehead. Oh, the pleasure of that SMACK~
"No, I refuse, back off Kiel," I groaned, coming back into reality, shoved him back once more. With a frown, Kiel fumbled backwards, running into the brick column behind him. Pulling out a ciggy and grabbing his match from his pocket, he ran out the back exit randomly, avoiding being seen from any teachers that may have been stalking us. His pals shoved me forward quickly trying to get me outside, and they weren't as wobbly. There were about five of them, too, the group always growing. I couldn't escape, so I let them throw me outside landing in front of Kiel.
He just stared at me. It was a serious stare, too. There was no confusion in the gaze, nothing to be unsure about. I looked away, corrupting the view. Obviously he was faking being drunk... I stood up and brushed my knees, covered in small tar pebbles. He reached out his hand, but not to assist me. There was his match. I narrowed my eyes.
"What? I told you I don't smoke," I spat. Kiel shrugged, and put it back in his pants, walking off to the side of the school. "Hey!" I shouted after him, running forwards a little. "Aren't you going back inside?"
"Nah, that door locks when it's closed," he shouted back, the smoke swirling out of his mouth and back to me. I ran after him, paranoid of some stranger prancing up to me and holding me hostage. I shivered at the thought. My parents had always kept the news on constantly, and the neighboring town wasn't the most peaceful place.
"Why'd ya' come out?" He questioned soon enough.
"Well your pals threw me out here," I snarled in response. Kiel half-smiled and patted me on the back, but I brushed him off with a quick jerk away from him.
"Sorry kid; they think I'm their alpha 'er somethin'. Wanted you out here with me, I guess." He shrugged again.
"Why would they want me with you?" I looked at him while I asked. He was blushing.
Well, crap.
