I like both of those layouts but worry about space
This guide could get very big and very graphical very quickly.
I also worry it will be too spread out so people can't easily compare the pets they want to. Hmm.

Maybe the images are unnecessary and a link to the image would suffice. Also linking proof to every rarity change of every pet could get very time consuming. Even though it would be useful.

Are we certain that we want to compare by rarity update? Perhaps listing the pets by release date with a comment and then some kind of chronological thing...

Possible format for the pet listing section:

Moon Dogs

Moonswirl - OMGSR since April 2012
Dogtag - OMGSR since May 2012
Nonswirl - OMGSR since Jan 2019
Nontag - OMGSR since Jan 2019

Moonswirl briefly turned VR in Feb 2013, but returned to OMGSR by early March.
Dogtag did not dip like this despite turning OMGSR a month later in 2012.
This suggests that Moonswirl and Dogtag have been fighting for the position of rarest Moon dog.

Awesome. So that section would be under July 2008 like Zetirian has in the above example.
We can always make amendments as we go but for now I think the next step is to list out each pet with rarity tag colour and hyperlink, and capture their last accurate VR/OMGSR date.

I don't like listing small dips though; for example Moonswirl was only VR briefly and we know before then that it was rarer than Dogtag, so I feel like it and Dogtag are similar and it was on the cusp. So I put that information in the description (should be Jan though rather than Feb) rather than in the last date section. Otherwise I feel like it doesn't accurately represent the rarity difference between Moonswirl & Dogtag? The initial pet count project's numbers have Moonswirl rarer than Dogtag but not by much so they might turn out very close once the full set of numbers come in but until then, we don't really know. I feel like given the information we have that they are close in rarity but if we are strict about taking the last OMGSR date they will not look that way, which I feel is a bit misleading. Do you guys think it's fair to do that?

To clarify my thinking: In 2012 Moonswirl was rarer, in 2013 Dogtag was rarer, therefore I am guessing that they are very close in rarity. How can we fairly represent that, is it ok to not be strict about taking the last OMGSR date as long as we mention it in the litter's summary text?

I agree that they're probably very similar in rarity so as accounts come and go and rerealeses happen they probably swap around. It's pretty similar to the URs where rarity change dates could be misleading especially when we have some evidence to suggest they're close in rarity and close to the boundary.

If people want to help draft up sections for the 2008 part please feel free! Even if it's just providing linked pet names or rarity change dates. I have been pretty busy lately and this is supposed to be a community project so please don't be afraid to contribute, even if it is just a few lines, a suggestion or linking some useful information.

I will try to find some time on the weekend to continue the July section but we also have July/August, August, September, October, November and Christmas parts to do as well so the more people helping out, the quicker we can get this done!

If anyone doesn't like the suggested layout you're still free to suggest alternatives, and same for the drafts on the front page too. All feedback is welcome!

Sorry I haven't been able to work on this, I have been sick.

Others are welcome to help write this up, tbh I'm not sure I can do it all if I have to write every single 08 and 09 section along with searching for each VR/OMGSR date etc. Is there any way we can make this easier to do or more efficient?

the white dragon was available in the wolf and horse litter:

the red one in all litters on this page:

I messaged Sorren and she looked into it for us, so now we have the exact dates c:

The white, red, and blue dragons were released like zebras were in malk adopts.

The red and blue have now been moved to 2010 special releases, because that's what they really were.

I think it also explains how the rarities turned out if you look at the amount of litters each was available in.
