The sun was blazing in the distance, its rays shining onto the pathetic tunnel entrances that were scattered across the forest. Ceres-rah snorted at her own creations. Putting it bluntly, they were horrible. Most of them had dirt crumbling down on them, and a dense amount of foliage around each entrances to the point where it was barely accessible. Though that was only the outside. The insides of the warren was only slightly able to be used as a warren. There were places where dirt and rocks ruined the tunnels, and Ceres had spent minimal time with reinforcing it -- as of right now, it just had to keep her and Aysel safe. Did it look pretty? Absolutely not.
Aysel softly hopped up to Ceres and her stifled laughs, narrowing her eyes. "What's up with the frighteningly strange laughs?" Aysel asked quietly, catching Ceres off guard. Shaking her head, she smiled, having to restrain another laugh to come out of her, even if Aysel had questioned her odd series of giggles.
"Take a guess." Ceres spoke, turning her attention away from the sad looking collection of tunnels to Aysel. Aysel continued to narrow her eyes but scanned the area solemnly, and had began to force herself to smother a snort. Dear Frith, those tunnels didn't even look like tunnels now that she had taken a good look at it. At some parts, the entry way appeared too small for even Aysel and Ceres to go through, even despite Ceres being naturally a smaller rabbit. While it meant most Elil would have trouble getting through the entries, it wasn't like Aysel was able to either.
"I suppose it'd be a good idea to work on the tunnels?" Aysel chuckled, and Ceres nodded in agreement. Something had to be done sooner or later, or even now.
--
Ceres and Aysel had fixed most of the miniature sized entries, but the tunnels themselves had some issues that were in need of addressing. Dirt fell from the sides, and rocks were blocking a few of the warren's tunnels. Ceres had decided to get to work with the barely usable tunnels as Aysel had started with digging out a nesting area for them, and any rabbits who wished to join in the future. Ceres had almost effortlessly felt the dirt clear out in front of her as she scraped the walls of dirt. She had quite the experience with digging, and wasn't too bad at it either.
On the other paw, Aysel was struggling almost as much as a buck would. Her natural instinct for digging has faded, and so far, had made a rough looking area. Frustration had started to build up as she attempted to continue her digging, despite the odd shape of the chamber she had made. Shaking her head, she grumbled as she paused her digging for a moment, taking in what she had made. A bit of a mess, but to her surprise, her hard work and struggle wasn't all that bad. It had looked usable, at least. Grinning, she had hopped out to see how Ceres was doing. To her bemusement, Ceres had already dug plenty comfortably sized tunnels, varying in length. Ceres had paused at the sight of Aysel, twitching her ears.
"Need some help?" Ceres asked. The image of what Aysel had dug out appeared in her mind, but Aysel shook her head and smiled.
"I'm fine."

Digging was so odd, to Erhan at least. In his previous warren, the does seemed to have an effortless way of digging the warren's tunnels, and whenever a buck has attempted to pitch in, his work was around half the size of what a single doe could do. Bucks were often placed as guards for the warrens, but at Aster Regnum, all the help they could get was greatly appreciated. Ceres-rah had ordered both Erhan and Aysel to assist her with digging out the tunnels, as her warren was growing incredibly slowly, but steadily.
Erhan, hopping back from a quick drink by the stream, was curtly welcomed back by Ceres, with Aysel by her side. "Alright, let's get this over with, you two. While you were doing ... whatever you two do, I had already started working on the tunnels." Ceres spoke, signaling Aysel and Erhan to follow her. She led the two members of her warren to the main empire, then the underground tunnels, admiring her own work. "You can see why my old warren called me such a hard worker." Ceres-rah boasted, though Erhan could see a small gleam of what appeared to be a wistful sparkle that shone in his leader's eyes.
Ceres had talked vaguely about her previous life, and from what Erhan had picked up in between her demands was that her previous warren had been called the Thorn Empire. Then something about a storm, boom, crash, then Aster Regum was founded. Whenever Ceres had brought it up, it was always mournful and melancholy, unlike her usual behaviour. Erhan, just being a lone rabbit that had found the Regnum, couldn't exactly relate to was Ceres had told them about, but connected with her feeling of loss. Odd enough.
"Yeah, we know, Ceres." Aysel gave her leader a subtle grin, snapping Erhan out of his thoughts. "Enough blabbering from any of us, I suppose we'd get to work, hm?" Ceres cracked a smile and nodded in agreement, as Erhan sat awkwardly behind the two, saying practically nothing during the entire time. Ceres began to lead them through the network of tunnels to an area which had seemed to be unfinished, as dirt and rocks tumbled down from the sides.
"I was starting to begin this until you two arrived back at the Regnum. I'm thinking about making this a new area for storing our supplies? It can't exactly stay in the nesting area forever." Ceres mused, Aysel and Erhan both giving her a polite nod. Erhan recalled last night, where he had picked the nest closest to the bundle of supplies they had. He had ended up waking up with a several dandelions and feathers on his face, in which Aysel had snickered at when she saw him.
The three had began to disperse themselves in the small space, beginning to dig the walls of the storage chamber. Now I suppose this is where I struggle. His mind grumbled, trying to figure out how Ceres-rah and Aysel had already sought out a fair pace for digging the walls. He began his scratch the dirt, small particles of it becoming loose. Attempting to match the pace the other two does, he watched as the dirt crumpled to the ground beneath him.
Erhan began getting used to the pace of his digging, not noticing the progress the other does had made, which definitely would've put his portion of digging to shame. As well, Erhan definitely didn't notice amused glance Aysel had given him while he first began digging.

The sun blazed in the sky, letting off warm rays of light. Clouds slowly moved in the distance as the sounds of birds chirped along. Normally, it would've been a wonderful day to go out hunting or gathering, or something similar to that. Wonderful if Aysel didn't injure herself and have to be stuck with Fennel. Naturally, Aysel would've been happy to not have to spend time in the warren with someone, but Fennel was a different story. Fennel had rubbed Aysel the wrong way only moments after she joined the warren, and Aysel wasn't able to pinpoint why, but something that radiated off of Fennel Aysel couldn't seem to agree with.
Aysel grumbled as she limped her way through the tunnels and into the nesting area. The warren was planning to get to work on a healer's chamber soon, but as of right now, everybody was too busy with their duties meaning that the nesting area was completely free to use. Aysel had heard the thump of Fennel's feet behind her as she flopped onto her nest, bathing in the time where she didn't have to spend stuffed in the same room with someone she didn't particularly like.
As Fennel entered the area, Aysel noticed the thick bandage of leaves that was on her paw, the one that Fennel had refused to put any pressure on earlier. Aysel assumed it was the work of Erhan -- oddly enough, he had a knack for making things out of leaves, which included things that had medical usages, like the bandage Fennel wore.
"Dear Frith this isn't what I signed up for." Fennel muttered in an irritated tone. She plopped herself down on the opposite side of the chamber where her nest was, picking at the blades of bentgrass that it was woven out of. Her paw squirmed for a moment before plucking out a morsel of dandelions. The once bright yellow plant had began going into a dull state, but Fennel had popped it into her mouth anyways.
Aysel awkwardly laid there, listening to Fennel munch on her sunflowers, and then bits of grass and other accumulated bits of food that were stuck into her nest. Crunch. Munch, munch, munch, munch, crunch. Aysel, despite her efforts, couldn't seem to feel relaxed, not to mention the sharp jabs of pain her leg received here and there. Aysel huffed as she turned to face Fennel with a glare.
"Oh, would you stop it with your munching?" Aysel snapped, and Fennel straightened up, her gaze shooting towards Aysel. Her ears, which were previously resting contently on her back, lifted slightly, showing her fright. "What's up with your stash of food woven in your nest anyways? Doesn't that get gross? Why in the name of Frith are you even eating those scraps of food, anyways? I doubt you're hungry -- we just ate before having to sit here."
Fennel attempted to regain her composure, and shook her head. "Sorry. You could've told me I was annoying you earlier, no? I wouldn't have been offended."
"Did you know you're always annoying?" Aysel spat aggressively, but then froze. She hadn't meant to say that aloud. Regret flooded her mind as she shifted uncomfortably in her nest. Fennel frowned, though swiftly proceeded to sneered.
"I would say the same about you."

The sweet scent of flowers filled Aysel's nose as she waited at the edge of the main empire, just where the golden meadow's floral smell filled the air. Aysel was advised to wait here for the time being as Ceres-rah finished organizing the items and plants they had accumulated over time, as later they'd go out to work on gathering herbs for the warren to use. Erhan had offered to tag along as well, due to his surprisingly extensive knowledge of plants and the like. Erhan had already started to plan out a route for them to go, as the golden meadow had already been almost entirely plucked clean of herbs, only leaving plants and flowers for food purposes.
Long, thin white ears caught Aysel's eyes, and soon enough the palely coloured fur of Ceres popped out, her paws filthy from what Aysel assumed to be dirt. Erhan, as well, came swiftly after Ceres' appearance, his eyes glinting with anticipation. Aysel wondered what had caused Ceres-rah's messy paws, and why Erhan seemed so overly eager to go out gathering -- though she knew she would find out, sooner or later while out gathering. Aysel could simply just question Ceres-rah, and Erhan would soon lead them to his source of excitement.
"Are we ready to go?" Aysel asked with a tilt of her head. Erhan had already started facing the way Aysel presumed was the route he wanted to head towards, and Ceres-rah had appeared to notice that as well. With a curt nod, the trio hopped away from Aster Regnum's main empire and down west, following behind Erhan who moved too swiftly for Aysel's liking.
Truth be told, it wasn't the most ideal day to go gathering. Despite the sun that shone faintly in the sky, there was a cool breeze that passed by, and the sky seemed gloomier than normal. It had just happened that the Regnum was running low on herbs, and Ceres had decided that it wouldn't be such a bad idea to round up a few plants and herbs before the weather got any worse. Aysel suspected if they didn't hurry up, they might as well be caught in a storm sooner or later.
Minus the rhythmic footsteps that filled Aysel's ears, there was a strong silence that rang between them, and she ultimately decided to ask Ceres-rah about her mess of a paws. "Ceres-rah, could I ask you why in Frith's name your paws seemed so... grubby? You were just organizing our stash, no?" Aysel inquired, and Ceres-rah stopped for the slightest moment, but continued to hop along.
"Well, I --" Ceres-rah had began, but Erhan had cut her off.
"There we are! Look at this! All these herbs!" Erhan beamed with content and satisfaction as he began sniffing a cluster of plants to the right of him, all of which Aysel didn't recognize at all. In fact, Aysel didn't even know where in the world she even was. Erhan had led both Ceres and Aysel into an unknown area that just happened to have a clearing filled with plants, trusting that Erhan would be able to lead them back to Aster Regnum safely, while being able to carry bundles of herbs.
"Y'know, I don't really see what's so special about all these." Ceres-rah grumbled, sniffing at one plant that had a plant that had dull purple petals that hung down towards the ground. "They seem like the plants we'd find back at the meadow, and we already had a good amount back there. Why did we have to travel all the way here to gather a few little plants? Not to mention we put Fennel in the place of guarding the Regnum all by herself, which isn't the smartest idea, I'd have to say." Ceres-rah, despite her complaining, began inspecting the other flowers that were scattered across the clearing.
Erhan wiggled excitedly as he plucked a bushy yellow flower from the ground, shaking his head. "You don't get it -- this place will last us quite the while if we use it wisely. And besides, it wasn't that long of a distance. It doesn't take terribly long to get here, and the result is fantastic as well! Look at all these plants!" Erhan had started to sniff a small patch of bright yellow flowers that looked strikingly like dandelions that were further up. "Aysel, could you come over here and help me pluck these out? They're pretty useful!"
Aysel had to force herself to smother a smile. It was neat seeing Erhan become so joyful around the plants, like he had unlocked a special place for him that resembled a paradise. Aysel could've imagined it as well, but she could've sworn seen Ceres-rah crack a grin after they finished.
