I considered that one for awhile, actually, and eventually went in favor of the greenbottle for the orange back and lack of yellow. Now that you bring it up though, i feel like I maybe made the wrong choice - the metallica has the white knees, is closer in color, and even has speckles like the cat 🤔

It's not a GBB, I don't think. It's maybe P. metallica. I have one of those. It would have yellow on the legs and be more "metallic" I think. I know T's, but not other spider species. If it's not a tarantula, then I don't know it. The white stripe makes me think of A. seemanni, but they have striped legs and the orange isn't right. There's several species of Tarantulas with white stripey legs, but searching "white stripe spider" pulls up way more photos of various non-Tarantula spiders with stripes actually on their bodies.

I suppose it could be A. geniculata. Sometimes they have orange/brown booties. The two white spots are throwing me off though.

Edit: Here's a good picture of a P. metallica that shows off that yellow on their legs that makes me think this cat is a different species.

Im analyzing this cat too much.

okay, so, i think the three of us are mostly in agreement that it's not a GBB or P.Metallica. So I went sleuthing a lil harder.

Here's my suggestion for a third contender. Monocentropus Balfouri

A little help, the whole litter are based on just tarantulas so don't worry about other types of spiders.

I'll be sure to confirm the species when someone guesses correctly or when it grows up ^^
