i would never call myself a germaphobe. growing up with all kinds of pets and constantly playing outside in the dirt as a kid, as well as the fact that i've been using public transport almost daily for the past seven years hardened me up quite a bit. now, if someone coughs or sneezes right in my face, or if i have to use a dirty public restroom i obviously won't be too thrilled, but in general germs don't bother me too much.
