Rares List Discussion *DISCONTINUED*

Hmm yeah my omgsr will retain its value but i also think this is for the better! Ive been playing on and off since 2013 and I never fully understood the list and I only obtained my list pet through Dec 18 because it seemed so impossible to get the higher tier list pets that I wanted as nobody wanted regular rares or very rares as that wouldn't be fair according to the list

I mean I used the list yeah, but I'm not mad about the discontinuation. I used it to trade for the pets I wanted, and I got the pets I wanted.

Personally, I feel like the people who are mad about it discontinuing are the people who have invested more time than they should've into it. Because remember: the Rares List guide was merely only just a guide that really wasn't supposed to be followed entirely.

And yet despite this, people treated it like the trading bible.

It seems like those are the main kind of people that are upset to me too. The ones that treaded it like a trading bible.

I can't count the number of times back when I had started where I had a good trade shot down because of someone wanted more based on how much they followed that list.
Like everything was either that or no go and I seriously didn't want to give up half (or all in one case) my collection just for one pet.

Maybe this will hopefully level the playing field until a new list comes around.

Oh gee, tell me about it. I got my Eat Me and Drink me as art/wishlist payments in November 2009 for stuff that you can definitely tell was done by a baby artist (examples are for me, not the people who paid me, for privacy). I feel blessed

I can't wait to get back to the trading era of 2009. Only eyeballing trade for fairness--there's only so much math that this math person is willing to handle lol

i agree with this, i have used the list to get pets i wanted but was it easy? generally, no
it was restricting and difficult to do and made them game more stressful than enjoyable.

im looking forward to hopefully more people trading loosely, and based on what feels right to them and makes them happy

I don’t know if I should wait for a new list to come up, or trade with what personally feels right.
I’m having severe anxiety over trading all of a sudden. I don’t want my trading partners to be unhappy in the future or myself. I think I’m going to trade very little with people I trust enough to agree to trade back if things go badly. I want to accept this so bad, there’s just parts of me so used to the list it’s not working out.

Does anyone else feel this way? I think tradebacks should become more accepted for a while until a rarity list comes out. From there it’ll be so much easier. I just want everyone to be happy and I don’t want to get targeted.

This became more of a rant ahah >< It’s been literally 5 years of me reading on the list, and without it i’m horrified, but then happy it’ll fix trading??? I think i’m just dependent on a guideline. Any thoughts?

No. I doubt it’ll be locked. It’ll be unfair to those who still follow the list. There might be new ‘swap’ threads made in the future if any of the new lists become popular c:

Considering they unpinned it days ago I doubt they are going to do anything with it. It already is getting a lot less attention. They might have to change it to high value pets. I don't see the term "list Pet" disappearing any time soon just because the list retired.

Hello! I posted this in the wrong area originally, so I'm pasting this in the proper area now! Thank you for your patience!
Maybe I'm in the wrong place with my question (and please re-direct me if I am, I'm an old lady who is always confused) but with the list possibly changing/dissolving what does that mean for pets of high rarity that don't have demand factored in? Do the values of pets like the Royal Litter go up?


I have a ton of old, very rare pets that aren't on "the list" and it's frustrating to think that to acquire just one pet I may have to trade all of them away because of "the list" increasing the rarity and that only pets on "the list" can be traded for them, even if the pet I have is OLDER than the pet I'm seeking. At what point is the concept of "Overpay" and the concepts of demand adding influence above just rarity dissolve the entire economy?
Does that make sense?

Or am I just an old frustrated fusspot?

I honestly never thought I’d see the day that the list was gone! It’s been around since I joined so it’s really all I’ve ever known. Curious to see how trading and determining fairness will work now. Maybe without the list I can finally trade off my zebra and ur bwolf 😂 I’m wondering, how many of y’all are going to still use the list? Are most people going to ditch it and go off preference/dates/rarity ect?

I'm not. I never really wanted to, but I kind of had to with all the people using it.
