Rares List Discussion *DISCONTINUED*

I’m honestly scared at the chaos this is going to cause to the trading economy....I know it was a issue befor but it’s going to be an even bigger issue of people over charging on pets. I get that it’s still there as a guide, but it still won’t stop people from requesting crazy amounts for a “list” pet. Are we now letting demand rule the tradeing economy? And what if a newbie gets a former list pet as a dec 18th pet, and gets a bad trade? Now they don’t really have a guide to look at and plus if asked in the fair trade thread, what’s to stop someone from saying it was a good trade? Now that person might accept and be out a rare pet. These are just my thoughts. I know it would of been hard work, but I still think reforming the list would of been a much better choice. And I know the list wasn’t mandatory to follow BUT it still was helpful to a point...again just my opinion and I’m not wanting any negativity.

Ok not sure where to ask this but, why was Sunjewel Bun listed above other Buns on the Rares List? I can't seem to find the 09 bunny rarity change dates. How did we know Joker Bun and UR Butterbun were rarer before they turned OMGSR? How do we know Sunjewel Bun a bit rarer? I want to better understand the bunnies. Can anyone point me to any information about them?

How are people going to value their OMGSR’s?
I understand it’s personal preference, but just in general, are you going to value them as their old list value, or are you going to value them as 6 VR’s?

Personally I (w a sunjewel) am going to continue valuing it around the old list value because of my trading history leading up to getting it, as oppose to just trading it for some random vrs

I think most people who actually own list pets will stick with around what they were wanting to trade them for before this poll, they invested too much into them to do otherwise. I have never followed the overpriced gaps list in September and main list trade downs but I definitely wouldn't be trading one of my OMGSRs for 6 random non-list VRs, I'd rather keep them I'm afraid. But then I also wouldn't have traded them for some of the things the list claimed were fair either

The Wayback Machine was one of the best sources I found for the buns but it doesn't go back far enough to show the differences between the Joker, Butterbun, Sunjewel, and some of the advent buns. '09 Easter Buns rarities in Jan '10 '09 Easter Buns rarities in July '10 '09 Easter Buns rarities in April '12 Looking at the old threads though the UR Butterbun and Joker Bun were always considered to be the most rare, even at the time of the hunt, with the Sunjewel bun a bit behind them and the others a long way behind. A few early threads discussing them. I personally haven't found any mention of them changing rarity so have to wonder if they came out as very rares right from the start of the rarity system.

Honestly the list was terrible yes, but i spent hours n hours doing art commissions to get list pets and hours trading my way up to get my dream pet the ur tiger dog.
This is just an annoying change for all the people who've worked hard and worked for AGES to get the higher tier lists which will now go down in value.

Tbh i don't plan to trade for a while till this settles. Bc i know i'm going to get offers on my lists which are way below what I've worked hard to get.. I think i'll still value my lists as how they were before, tbh.

I think the list was good in some ways - in that it offered a guide, and goals, but was very flawed in how hard it was to get to the top. Many people scammed their way to the top, and i hope with this change there will be less scamming, as if we're just going off rarity and current demand that's more obvious for players to see unfairness...

So now now in regard to trading.. how will the "fair trade thread" be able to continue if someone can't whip out a "oh yeah, super unfair to you because four 09 rares equals a tier one"

Like, will we just be going by demand and year of the pet now? Likability?

I believe they have a few proper lists in the works to help the fan base decide pets worth. It's all very vague at the moment as it seems even they aren't sure.
I'd say wait till they come out with all the lists they're working on before trading lists, and then see how the public react to them.
I think there will be a lot of people who will still use the old rares list as a guide still, but i think the rarity/worth will go down slowly.

How will trading work now that there is no list to base trades off of?
- There is now more freedom to make your own trading decisions. You can use the discontinued rares list guide, one if the rarity of demand guides in the process of being built, and/or work with your trading partner to come up with values for your pets (based on rarity tags, dates, etc.)

Will there be other lists?
- Yes! A list based on the physical number of pets on the site, a list based on rarity change dates, and a list based on demand are currently in the works, but other lists can be made as well.

This could turn into the new list, could merge, or be a guide for non lists. We shall see ^.^

Personally gonna have to take a hiatus from trading because this is a mess. Perhaps when the new list is finished. For now, I’m mostly here for Kalons.

Mm. They were on the ‘list’ for the reason, mainly because there may have been a limited number of them or were just older in general 😔
