Personality
Upon first glance, X is kind and caring to all, even towards people with evil in their hearts. He is very cheerful and enjoys helping those who need it. However, this is all a façade. In reality, X has little if any care for anything but battle. He has an unhealthy obsession with fighting, and will jump into battle with his lance and shield whenever he has the chance. However, despite his obsession, he knows when to abandon a losing fight, and even when not to fight. He never gets into his battle attire while others are watching, and continues his kind and caring façade while acting as a powerful but passivistic mage. When he does don his battle attire, he reveals his true relentless nature. He does not care whether an opponent is aligned with good or evil, as long as he gets to fight them.

History
Not much is known about X's past. Long ago, he was a powerful and respected knight. However, he became obsessed with battle and strength, and eventually, he was no longer the honorable man he once was. One of Zelda's ancient ancestors sealed him away because of the threat he posed to everyone around him. Shortly after Calamity Ganon was defeated, the seal that was placed on him broke, and he found his way to the now peaceful Hyrule.

Theory:
Kass (BOTW) might be related to a sage. Almost all the town's in Adventure of Link are named after known sages, minus Mido Town and Kasuto Town.

An interesting theory, but if you take into account that all Kokiri are born from the Great Deku Tree, you could use that logic to say that Mido is related to Saria
