*DISCONTINUED* Rares List Guide (1 March 2019)

I understand it’s all personal preference, but does anyone have a rough idea on how OMGSR’s are going to be valued?
Will they keep their “list” value, or will they simply be worth 6 VR?

Personally, I'm choosing to go based off off when they turned and availability. So stable omgsrs, fluctuating omgsrs and new omgsrs. My only real outlier is store pets since those will gradually rise in rarity as they get older~

The pets that are included on this list did not lose value with its retiring. Every pet that was listed here has the same value, they simply “lost” the value that this list created. This list applied value to the pets contained it in that does not align to the actual values of the pets. In other words, in placing the pets in this list, an untrue, inaccurate value was created for them.

The original creators of this list incorporated rarity, the availability of the pet, and demand when placing the pets. Starting in late 2016/early 2017, the community voted to readjust pet values based more on the rarity of the pets. As a result some omg so rare pets were moved up the list.

As a heads up, because the FAQ is so far down the first page, I don't think any information related to what just happened should go down there. I think any FAQs about the closure in particular should go in the first post. My FAQ update will just be for general FAQs that have always existed.

Speaking of that, are there any particular general FAQs from the past 8 years that people would like me to add? I'm actually sick right now so my memory is failing me lol

Here’s some FAQ I pulled from the discussion thread and tried to write up some answers for them.
There was also a question about C$ values, but I didn’t know how to answer that one. 😬



How will trading work now that there is no list to base trades off of?
- There is now more freedom to make your own trading decisions. You can use the discontinued rares list guide, one if the rarity of demand guides in the process of being built, and/or work with your trading partner to come up with values for your pets (based on rarity tags, dates, etc.)

Will the value of former list pets go down now that the list is gone?
- No! The values of the pets on the list will stay the same, they will simply “lose” the value the list created by placing them on the list.

Are “list pets” still list pets, or just normal pets?
- This is up to you and your trading partner to decide. Some users will still value former list pets as “list pets”, others will not.

What’s happening?
- “The” Rares List Guide is being retired, meaning no further updates to the placement of pets will be carried out. The list will still be available for viewing for reference though.

What are omg so rares worth now?
- The worth of any pet is up to the individual user. When trading an omg so rare, you and your trading partner will have to determine how you value the pet(s) to work out a trade that you both think is fair. There will also be rarity-based and a demand-based list for reference following their completion.

Will there be other lists?
- Yes! A list based on the physical number of pets on the site, a list based on rarity change dates, and a list based on demand are currently in the works, but other lists can be made as well.

Can I still use this list?
- Yes, you are still welcome to use this list. The pet placements will no longer be updated, but you can still use it for reference, trading, etc. if you choose.

How will the FTT work?
- Those answering trade questions are advised not to use the list placements of “The” Rares List Guide to answer trade questions. It should mentioned that pet values are up to the individual, and that these should be worked out between trade partners to find fair trades. Suggestions to the new lists in the works (rarity guides, demand guides, etc.) can also be mentioned.

Alright... IN composing this, I think it's best to have a sort of abstract with what is happening. Most college editorials have this to formally introduce a topic. These provide brief introductions to what's happened, topisc, and basic conclusions. The things Kee listed I feel should be put after a small abstract with how they have things listed and this would negate the use of a "What's happening section". Just a food for thought.

I will go ahead and slap this on that discussion thread to negate some of these questions <3
