Fun facts from pet IDs (anyone can find this information right now):
June 30, 2008 - July 28, 2008: 10,000 pets adopted
July 28, 2008 - August 22, 2008: another 50,000 pets adopted (60,000 total)
August 22, 2008 - September 17, 2008: another 100,000 pets adopted (160,000 total)
September 17, 2008 - October 13, 2008: another 150,000 pets adopted (310,000 total)
October 13, 2008 - November 11, 2008: another 200,000 pets adopted (510,000 total)
January 1 - 31, 2009: about 330,000 pets adopted
November 1 - 30, 2009: about 1,060,000 pets adopted (mind that we had our first staff litter--although as far as staff litters go, this one wasn't particularly big) (about 6,300,000 pets total on CS at this point)
AND starting in January 2009, we've been getting roughly the same number of pet outcomes every month, and eyeballing the archives pages tells me we got maybe half or two thirds of the usual amount per month in 2008
while there are a lot of other factors that these numbers don't take into account (e.g. extended releases), I think it's still pretty clear that CS's fastest growth was in the first 3ish months (July 2008 pets ARE valuable!) and then after that there's no reason to use the same exponential value system that can be argued for the first 3ish months of 08
Was your pet adopted December 18, any year, or December 24, 2011? It is most likely an older pet! CLICK ME to identify your pet!
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.
Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
