Lark ignored all the shouts and almost fell down the steps, as he was going too fast to be certain his steps were exact and stable. Everything was too much and with the adrenaline, all Lark wanted was to run and hide in a place that was safe and comforting. A place where he could also take a second to breathe and actually process what happened. So that is here he headed but little did he know, Lark was still being pursued by his hungry uncle. Larkin ignored anyone he passed in the hallways as he continued to run to a particular place. This spot hadn’t been used for this purpose since he was a young child, as he had outgrown the habit. This place was actually his sister’s room because when he was younger, being around Aerona had comforted him despite her being younger than him.

Adelia had left the ballroom and strange guest behind a while ago and was now curled up in the library. Her favorite spot was on the sofa that was near the fireplace but not too close, obviously. It was comfortable and warm although sometimes she would get too hot if she sat there for too long. A book was in her hands and she was immersed in the story it was telling through the words on the pages. It was about four kingdoms that took place a long time ago with the history and stories about them. It was rather an interesting read so far, although she was still unsure if this was suppose to be true or if it was completely fiction.

Wendy couldn’t help but smile as cyrus clapped for her, inflating her somewhat already large ego. Quite dramatically she bowed, twilight one hand then flaring her arm out behind her while holding her other arm close to her. Surprisingly her sunglasses had stayed planted on her face throughout the whole endeavor, even when she fell from the tree. It’s possible she had a secret superpower to keep the glasses on her face that even she didn’t know about. why thank you! What a generous score, cyrus. the smile on her face faltered a little as her adrenaline high ebbed away and the gash on her leg began to throb with pain. Glancing down at the injury she could tell it wasn’t too deep or long, she’s had worse happen to her, but the cut was starting to hurt like hell. She would be able to handle it for now though, at least while she was snooping around the manor, then she could tend to it later. But with the pain wendy was feeling giddy. She had done it. She had found the place that held the inhumans, or at least what she thought was the place that housed them. For all she knew this was just some old, abandoned manor with nothing inside but the smell of mildew and bugs. So far from the looks of the well kept lawn this place was very much lived in.
Then her smiled faded at cyrus’s next words. Had she just heard him right? Disbelief fell across her face as she stared at him through the gates. you’re joking, right? is what she said, her mind trying to figure out if he was indeed just playing around. After all his sarcasm wasn’t exactly noticeable, however it didn’t seem like he was joking around. you could have opened this door the whole time? I just climbed a tree and jumped a wall! But you’re telling me you could have picked the lock and i didn’t need to do any of that? she was furious, her face growing red with anger. She grabbed onto the bars of the gate, debating whether or not she wanted to try and punch cyrus. Maybe she could send spike on him, watch with pleasure as the dog mauled the man. (spike wouldn’t do so, he’s too passive to hurt anyone) but she needed a way to get spike to her on the other side of the gate, and cyrus seemed to be the only way to get the dog to her, not to mention the open gate could be a good escape route if she needed it. Heavily sighing and clenching her jaw wendy released her grip on the gate and stepped back from it. i think you might have to … pick the lock.
