It Always Pays Off To Try New Things
(part 1)

Felldom stared at the girl through the small, hidden window that let you see a small part of her family's science lab. Her fur was beautiful and had streaks all through body which glowed. Any girl who had pride in her beauty would have showed that rare and beautiful markings, but the girl in that science lab had it all covered up with goggles and and oversized lab coat. Felldom thought it was weird how she never did that, and he wanted to at least know the young girl's name. It was a week now since she moved here and he still couldn't gather the courage to talk to her.

Neo played around with all the chemicals and equipment, not knowing which her harmful, and which would make her hair grow longer. She didn't really care, because she wanted to see something explode. Her father and mother were bother scientists, and she too found it interesting. She borrowed her father's old lab coat, her mother's rubber boots and a pair of goggles so she could really get in the mood of it.
Neo noticed while she was cleaning up a failed experiment, that a dog was looking at her through that window she always forgot about.
"Hey, i know you're there! You can come in through the door if you want. I'm going to make something go boom!" Neo shouted at the dog who was watching her through the window.

Felldom couldn't believe that the girl actually decided to talk to him, her voice was loud and happy. He felt the corners of his mouth creep up, and a nice feeling flowed through him. This was the first time he ever smiled. He went through the door and saw the whole lab in colour, especially the girl. She was grinning at him.

"What's your name?" Neo asked the dog, who was smiling like had hadn't in years.

"F-Felldom." Feldom said quietly, for no-one ever spoke to him, the little and worthless loser.
"Felldom...what and awesome name! My name is Neo." she said, taking off her goggles and walking towards the shy dog. "Let's be friends!"
Felldom was taken back at first, his only friend was the rock that was in his garden. But then he realized that a friend might be fun.

<A few minutes before school, present.>
Felldom, now a teenager attending a prestigious school, had changed his reputation. Since he met Neo, he was no longer the shy little dog in the corner. He was quite the opposite, actually. He was a tennis player, which was probably the biggest sport played at his school, and no doubt he was one of the best. He gained popularity with the ladies after maturing, and now he was the talk of the school. Although, he payed a price. After he entered the school, which was 2 hours away from his old house and Neo, who was his best friend, he was separated from her. Although, he never forgot the girl who made his life better, just by being open.
"Hey Felldom, what's up?" Felldom's friend, Tom, asked him as they patrolled the corridors. Tom was quite popular too, but he was more leaning to the geeky style of things. Although he was still a huge talk in the school how he won the State's Maths Awards.
"Nothing much. We should probably get out of here before the girls swarm us." Felldom said, and he and Tom ran to the court yard.
<School has started>
Neo walked around the new school that she was enrolled in, a senior showing her around. Over the past few years, her passion for science has increased, and she heard that Felldom was here. She only remembered Felldom vaguely as the shy boy who she was friends with, but her memory normally failed her. However, Felldom was her only ever friend she had in a while, because other girls always rejected her because of her difference, which she didn't like to be prestigious about. She eventually found her way to her class, and was placed at a seat next to a red dog with black and some white markings.
<After School>
Neo ran over to that red dog before he left. She knew who he was now, Felldom. She only hoped that he remembered her, because she didn't want to be friendless again. He still hadn't noticed her, but he turned around when she grabbed his paw.
"Wow, you must have become pretty dense over these years if you managed to ignore me for a whole day." Neo said to him. "You're Felldom, aren't you."

"Yes, my name is Felldom. And yours?"
Felldom noticed something was familiar about the girl who was sitting next to him today, but decided not to think about it. But when she grabbed his paw, he remembered who she was.
"Neo! You're here! How...why....it doesn't matter! I can't believe you actually came here! It's been 5 years, right!" Felldom said happily. He felt like his life suddenly got better, just as he knew that Neo, the dog who changed everything, was with him once again. And he must say, he noticed that Neo had become more beautiful and strong over the years. Her fun pattern is the same, but now she had a confident and fresh face.

Neo laughed. "I'm happy to see you again, too! I thought you had forgotten me. Now tell me everything that's happened over the years! Do you have a girlfriend? I wouldn't be surprised if you did. And it seems you have become quite popular over the years," she said and patted his back. But then she realized some that she said, Do you have a girlfriend? Why did i ask that? she thought.

Felldom laughed. "I'd never forget you, not in a million years! I just didn't regognize
you at first because you've matured so much. Anyway, no i don't have a girlfriend. Yet. It's kinda hard because most of the girls at school are more of....fan girls."

"Fangirls? Wow, you really ARE popular. Right now you are probably my only friend. And yes, i still have my science fettish. We recently moved here and we have a new awesome science lab. So you should come check it out!"
