The Rarity Trade Guide

Store pets don't have a set rarity, actually. Look at the Skelebun.
What has happened?
There is a certain number of pets bought at the store. So it's 1 store pet per 100 members (random number, not offical!!) which makes it VR. Let's say there were 10.000 members when this one retired.
A few years later there are 100.000 active members, but the amount of store pets is the same for that outcome, which made it more rare.
Tess herself said store pets aren't part of the official collection, which is also why they have the C$ now. I think it's best to give them a seperate list to make it more clear that you don't need them to have an 'official' complete collection.

What I meant by that is that there wil never be more of them on the site, unlike other pets which are re-released Like on the 19th some pets change rarity due to the re release, store pets will never have that drop

A store pet list could be made but that doesn't make them exclusive to that list. But it would be a nice addition to CS! Store Pets are complicated in their own right.

but something you said, the up-keep would be constant... and that might be a good thing? It forces us to update every once in a while instead of waiting every 1-2 years to do 'touch ups' which is what the Rare's List was doing until the recent fallout in early 2017. Keeping this guide hopefully in tune with the community's changing ways and the updated values of pets. It's hard to say what the future may hold for certain pets outside of the Store Pet system.

Either way, Store Pets or not, I do hope the community feels good about having updates more frequently than the RL did.

Yeah forgot to say that! A store pets only list could be made regardless of if store pets are included in this list, it can be a separate resource, or an 'add' on to this guide.

Personally, I love constant updates, and technically if this guide were to add store pets, a Lil update every 2 months could be made as that's the rate with which store pets are released ^^
But I meant the constant upkeeping might be hard if it's only one or few people who have to do it, especially if they're very busy with irl issues. If I'm not mistaken, I had heard something about some folks managing the rare list thread being really busy and unable to get in cs for very long periods of time, and that might be an issue if constant updates is what a thread is aiming for

That's a pretty good point as well! It's hard to measure how often thoguh, since store pet rarity is dictated by user base, and I am not sure if there is a place to check how many users there are anymore? The list would need to be updated say... every 1000 new users (as an example) to show that the store pets become less per user if that maks sense?

I don't think we would need to update every 1000 users. But it would be important to update every rarity update we get- as in those random months where everything jumps or falls. Or when we really see a impact with the Store Pets in trade system. Store Pets will always have some strange data to them, but since we're going on rarity tags only it leaves a lot of room for giving/guessing values, which leaves more freedom to users to decide what they want.

URs and Store Pets.
So far the poll construction this comes to mind.

"Should URs and Store Pets be added to the list?"

-Yes, both should be added
-No, neither should be added.
-URs should be added, but not store pets
-Store Pets should be added, but not URs

These are the only 4 options I can think of, off the top of my head. If anyone wants to add more options or help define these a little more in the option choices, please speak up!

Personally I think URs should definitely be added to this list seeing as we at least have some idea of their rarity compared to other pets, and they're always traded for non-URs. Plus they get re-released, so they'll continue to be obtainable just like all the other pets.

Store pets I'm not so sure. I'd definitely want a guide to how they translate to these pets if they get their own list.

Maybe poll options along these lines?
1. I want both URs and store pets to be added to this list
2. I want URs to be added to this list but not store pets
3. I want store pets to be added to this list but not URs
4. I do not want store pets or URs to be added to this list

I know we’ll be doing a poll for it, but I also thought I would throw in my own opinion about the ur and store pets.
I definitely think ur pets can and should be added to the list. For some of them, there is rarity change data which would make it easier to figure out where they would lay. I know there’s also a bunch that have always been omg so rare, so they would go towards the top.
I think it’s also worth noting that since they’re rereleased, their ratios are able to be maintained (like normal adopts that are rereleased), which I believe Tess talked about in a post about Dec 18th but I would have no idea where to go and look to find it at the moment.
Store pets however, I would be fine whether they were included in the main “guide” or not. I there are definitely some advantages to it, mainly that it would make it easier to gauge what they’re worth in comparison to other pets, but I can also see opposition to it since it would be a bit more difficult to maintain.

I have a very good feeling I didn’t word the part about the ur pets very well, so it if doesn’t make sense please let me know and I’ll try to explain what I was trying to say better! 😬

No? Some may just want a separate section included on this guide of it. Not an entirely different separate guide for them.

Personally, I think URs should be included. They are constantly traded for with non URs and they are used to trade with so it would be less confusing to just integrate them. As far as store pets, unsure on them and would have to think on it. If you don’t include them, there would have to be an added section on how to get from store pets to regular pets rarity wise, which would be more work, but could be done.

As for updating, it definitely needs to be reviewed regularly, maybe every 2 months or 3? It seems like if it isn’t touched or discussed, then things snowball and eventually you end up with a mess like what happened to the rare’s list. Even a simple week-long vote on moving a pet up or down a level would suffice I would think. This mainly pertains to store pets anyway, because they are what will change and get rarer more than regular pets that get re-released.

Just a question but if the other last is being bored on weather or not it should be deleted or revamped weeny is another being made? At the very least I think people should wait before creating a guide because though you guys say "you don't have to follow the list" players follow it religiously and to be frank it should stop because people's value of preys that are older are so much so it's rediculous it is no wonder why so many older players have left or won't trade. It's very well near impossible to get a list just starating out and then to crests a list for them all I dunno that's just asking for people to hoard every valued pet in existencewhy not let people come up worth their own idea of their pets worth vs putting a pre conceived notion like this that is almost equal to the list only an updated rendition. I still hate how it is tougher to trade now vs 09 when you could get pets that were more valued by means of a fair trade. I don't care who it is no 08 is worth 50 or even 20 09 pets is rediculous. Maybe things could be held off here until the final list conclusion because if one is deleted there shouldn't be another and for once a pets value should be solely on rarity because let's face it older pets are becoming harder and harder to come by.

Anyone can create whatever they like, there are no rules against people having a difference of opinion and voicing it.
This project, or what I've been working on, has been going on for a lot longer than when the Rares List started to go downhill.
The Rarity Counter Project has been going on for a few years? now.

Besides, this is rarity based only, the Rares List isn't. So it's not the same, or a replacement.
