DESCRIPTION
Retyrven is a rather peaceful country - because of their firm belief system, they do not have a military. They tend to be reclusive as well, refusing to assist potential allies in wars or disputes, and instead taking no sides in such cases, remaining truly neutral in every sense of the word. Because of this, they have few allies and many enemies, and are commonly targeted for invasions for resources. However, none of the invaders succeed, due to the unusual relations Retyrven has with its resident deities.
LORE
Long before Retyrven even existed, there were two major deities that ruled the celestial plane under the matron goddess Ghalzene: Rhozoti, the God of the Afterlife; and his sister, Maethis, the Goddess of Tricks. In order to create Retyrven, the two siblings were to each give up a part of themselves for the creation of life in this new world. Rhozoti gave his right wing, while Maethis gave her right leg.
It was a simple arrangement; each sibling was to share the duties of maintaining Retyrven while still following Ghalzene's laws. However, Maethis soon grew spiteful of Retyrven, due to the newly-formed country taking up all of her brother's attention. She also became megalomaniacal, desiring absolute control over Retyrven to make it the paradise she'd always longed for. Maethis attempted to seize control of Retyrven, causing her brother and Ghalzene to work together to banish her to the Nether - Retyrven's version of Tartarus. Rhozoti was devastated to lose his sister this way, but knew it was for the best. In order to seal her away, Ghalzene told him he had to give up another part of himself - this time he gave his left eye.
Maethis was distraught by this betrayal, and, before she was sealed away, released four of her creations upon Retyrven. They were known as the Four Hellbeasts, and their names were War, Pestilence, Famine, and Death. Rhozoti was worried that these Hellbeasts would destroy everything they'd worked towards, but Ghalzene told him to fret not; she had a plan. The matron goddess then created three heroes - all from various backgrounds and stories - that would be able to bring peace back to Retyrven. They were to be guided by Rhozoti, and together, would be able to combat the Hellbeasts in their eventual quest to free Maethis.
And this is where our story begins.
NPCs
Note; These are Dinoken who are yet to be made - I have the MYOs for them, they just need to be designed - who are important to Rhozoti and Maethis' story.
Ghalzene- The matron goddess of Midgard, otherwise known as the world my Dinoken reside in. She is the sole creator and guardian of Midgard, while her underlings rule over specific subcategories in Midgard. Not many Dinoken outside of Retyrven believe in her religion, however, so the deities' rule is most powerful over Retyrven.
War- One of the Four Hellbeasts created by Maethis to avenge her. War takes on the form of a female Dinoken, and is naturally the most temperamental of the Four. She's always looking for a reason to fight, and is known for her brash, irrational behavior.
Pestilence- One of the Four Hellbeasts. Pestilence takes the form of a male Dinoken, and serves as the unofficial leader of the Four. He's the most sensible of the bunch, only rivaled in maturity by Death, and is more likely to be willing to reason than Famine or War. However, he's still a tad hot-headed, and will fight if he deems it necessary.
Famine- One of the Four Hellbeasts, he takes on the form of a male Dinoken. Famine is easily considered the most mentally unstable of the Four, as he has nearly cannibalistic tendencies and is always, always laughing. He's unable to control his laughter, which makes him somewhat self-conscious at times. Famine is, simply put, completely psychotic, and is arguably the most dangerous of the Hellbeasts simply because of his unpredictable nature. Is always wearing a sadistic smile on his face; nobody's ever seen him frown and lived to tell the tale.
Death- One of the Four Hellbeasts, and most likely the calmest of the Four. Death takes on the form of a male Dinoken, and is surprisingly the least likely to harm anybody. Don't get me wrong; he will kill if their mission calls for it. He's just less likely to kill irrationally. He's very quiet and somewhat naive, though he maintains a serious disposition at all times. Has a very soothing voice.
Tzuri- One of the three heroes created by Ghalzene to save Retyrven. Tzuri is a large, timid Dinoken who takes on a motherly persona. She enjoys caring for and healing others, and is surprisingly persistent in her efforts. She only wants what's best for her friends, and will do anything to keep them safe. Runs an orphanage in the capital city of Retyrven.
Lucky- One of the three heroes. Lucky is a young Dinoken who essentially acts as the chosen one, due to his uncanny ability to befriend all he meets. He's just an innocent kid who's hard to hate, basically. Lucky is very sweet and outgoing, but due to being a child, is highly naive and gullible. Easy to manipulate and corrupt, and is oftentimes the target of the Hellbeasts' "vision dreams," due to him being so susceptible to them.
Brink- One of the three heroes, Brink is a small, swift Dinoken who has been tried as a criminal in the capital city of Retyrven, and is awaiting the death penalty. He's very sarcastic and remorseless, oftentimes coming off as cold and cynical to those around him. Believes he had a right to act out as he did, and refuses to admit to any of his faults. To those he's close with, he's fiercely protective and loyal.

Identified as: Bottom
Name: Rhozoti
Gender: Male
Domain: Afterlife
Personality: Rhozoti is a rather benevolent god, though his appearance and actions might not necessarily show it. He's very blunt and sarcastic, oftentimes finding some sort of sadistic amusement in others' miseries. He especially likes speaking in riddles and rhymes, as to confuse those he's faced with. It doesn't matter if they're on the same side or not; he just really likes frustrating others. It's a twisted hobby, he knows, but it's just so fun to mess with mortals! However, when push comes to shove, he'll do anything for his matron goddess, Ghalzene. She's practically his mother, and he feels indebted to her for bestowing this power upon him. Whatever she says is law; after all, she only means well for Retyrven... Right?
Prompt: In Rhozoti's eyes, he should've known something would go wrong - Maethis always was the irrational type - yet he trusted her fully. His sister would never do anything to put their new world in harm's way! She was just as loyal to Ghalzene as he was, and such betrayal would never occur.
Of course, that was before she got jealous.
Of what, exactly, Rhozoti wasn't entirely sure. He wasn't even aware that something was wrong between them - if he had, he'd have done something to fix it. But all of a sudden - for whatever unforeseen reason - things changed.
Maethis began controlling every aspect of Retyrven, attempting to morph it into the paradise she'd wanted. Rhozoti was shocked by this, but still refused to believe that his sister would bring harm to their country. His judgement was clouded by the bond they had, and this would cost Retyrven greatly.
It wasn't until Maethis began corrupting the citizens of Retyrven and starting wars with other countries that Rhozoti was forced to see his sister for what she actually was - a tyrant.
Devastated, the young god turned to Ghalzene for guidance. Together, they banished Maethis to the Nether - but not before she released the Four Hellbeasts to avenge her.
Now, Rhozoti knows better than to trust someone just because of the past. He scrutinizes every detail of them before making his final judgement, lest this tragedy happen again.

Identified as: Top
Name: Maethis
Gender: Female
Domain: Tricks
Personality: Maethis, upon first meeting with the goddess, comes across as kind hearted, relaxed, soothing. There's nothing you can't say to her that she'll react with disgust or any other sort of judgement. However, you must remember that she is still the goddess of tricks; deception is definitely her strong suit, and she knows how to get what she wants out of others. Despite her kind, light demeanor, she is a cruel goddess, making deals with mortals only to backstab them shortly after, killing them and harvesting their souls to further her advancement in her goals. She has no remorse or mercy to anyone; it doesn't matter if they're a child, a kitten, or an old woman - she'll kill anything if it means giving her the world she's desired for so long.
Prompt: Maethis' first mistake was thinking that she could outsmart Ghalzene.
The goddess of tricks didn't necessarily mind Retyrven at first; in fact, she believed she was blessed to have been given this power. However, that all changed when these filthy mortals began taking her beloved brother away from her.
Before they were blessed with divinity, Maethis and Rhozoti were extremely close. They were best friends, and nothing could change that... Until Rhozoti became infatuated with the mortals' way of life.
Maethis didn't mind this at first; she, too, was fascinated by the mortals, and she particularly enjoyed observing them from the spiritual plane. However, once she caught her brother actually visiting the mortal plane, disguised as one of them, she was appalled, and knew something had to be done, lest she lose her brother.
Fear of losing her brother clouded her judgement, causing her to become obsessive over him. She also gained a megalomaniacal mindset, setting out to shape Retyrven the way she wanted it. She desired a world where she and her brother could be safe and rekindle their relationship that was now stretched so thin.
Maethis thought she could outsmart Ghalzene until the matron goddess worked alongside her own brother to put Maethis away for good. However, before they caught Maethis and sealed her into the Nether, she pulled out her final trick; the Four Hellbeasts, War, Pestilence, Famine, and Death. She vowed vengeance on Ghalzene through them, and with that, was locked away for a thousand years.
She never forgot her goal, though...
