Cade woke up in a bright white room. His head was spinning. He blinked rapidly, trying to get a hold of what was going on. He heard muffled goices talking in the other room. Then, a sharp pain hit him and he winced, laying back down and rubbing the back of his head. His face was bloodied and bruised with lots of cuts. His black eye was still there and now there were stitches on his forehead. “Aspen...” he murmured once more.

Oliver hid his face in his palms and groaned, “I just wanna go home...” he whined. Why’d he have to fall for this girl? He gave a dirty look to anyone he passed and gently placed Ryann in the passengers seat. Then, he hopped into the front and started up the car. “Ryann, you’re fighting is awesome, but you gotta know when to quit.” He said, stepping on the gas and heading down the street. “I’m sorry you had to leave all your friends, but let me put it this way... they are insane.” He said, driving recklessly. He was angry. He didn’t want to see her get hurt anymoee than she was today. “We’re going to my house. Literally, everyone here is in a gang. I’m not letting you back out there for right now, ok?!” He said ina demanding tone. There was blood from her wound that stained his white t-shirt. “It’s because I like you and you’re really cute and I don’t want you to be hurt!” He said, answering a question that was never asked.

Aspen woke up by being wheeled into a room with a shut curtain, her eyes adjusting to the light. Before she could call out for Cade her bed was stopped beside another bed. The nurse opened the curtain, revealing the bruised and broken boy on his bed. Her eyes widened, relief filling her stomach, he was still alive, thank goodness. Aspen sat up, letting out a small pained groan before setting a hand on the boys shoulder. She began to feel dizzy-something felt like it was stabbing her chest so she held a hand over it, her eyes brimming with tears at the sudden pain as her heart monitor began to beep. She was still in critical condition-some arteries that led to her heart had been damaged so she technically should have moved from her bed. Aspen blinked a few times, trying to recognize the muffled beeping-her hearing sounded as if she was underwater because of her concussion. "Dammit" she sputtered quietly, "I-I'm sorry we got ourselves into this-" she huffed out-the monitor growing louder as her grip on his side loosened, Aspen blinked again, muttering out another 'sorry' as nurses ran into the room, Aspen's eyes finally shut in what seemed to her like tiredness, the last thing she felt was herself falling back into the arms of a nurse.

Jack smiled, watching the girl cuddle up into his chest as he wrapped a protective arm around her to pull her closer. He brushed some hair out of her face, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead before lying his head above hers. He smiled in content, beginning to close his eyes when his phone started ringing. He groaned, looking past her to see who was calling him; it was his mother-that was strange? His heart rate picked up in panic as he gently reached over her to grab his phone off the table next the the bed, swiping the call on with a shaky hand as he lifted it up to his ear. His mothers voice emotionless, raspy even as she muttered, "Come home-it's your sister" before he heard what sounded like a few loud sobs before his mother hung up. Leaving him in shock and worry-how the hell was he going to get home when he was in the hospital?

It was about 2 hours later when they wheeled her back in on the gurney. She had in a breathing tube and was asleep. She was only a few feet away, so he sat up, wincing from the sharp amount of pain, but stumbled over and caught himself on her bed. He looked down at her peaceful sleeping face and rested his hand on hers. With his other hand, he brushed a strand from her face. Then, Cade leaned down and kissed her softly on the forehead.

Ryann nodded, smiling at the woman and holding in a chuckle at when she slapped Oliver. Once she left she sputted out in laughter, "My foster father woulda killed me for bringing a boy into the house" she chuckled, following him into the kitchen and seeing some of the kids he told her about. Daniel brought his dog into the other room, setting him on the table as the woman looked at the cut, cringing. "I'll have someone come in and stitch him up-it doesn't look that bad" she reassured as she ushered them out into the main lobby to wait for the dog. Daniel grabbing Vienna's hand anxiously.

They'd been waiting for about an hour before the door opened, Pongo wobbling around before seeing Daniel, limping over to him in excitement. Daniel laughed as the dog jumped up and began to lick his face, turning to lick Vienna's as well, his dog had a thin cast on his leg and a bloody bandage was wrapped around its upper leg. The woman called Daniel to the front, "Your dog had broken his leg-and he had a pretty deep gash but he's fine now, he should heal properly within three weeks. The total is one thousand-two hundred and sixty-three" she announced, Daniels blood practically running cold. His life savings only consisted of two hundred dollars, his mother didn't work and his sister was too young to even have a job. Daniel looked at the desk worriedly, "When does th-the money need to be paid by?" he asked, his face pale, "you have two and a half weeks max before we contact the bank and take a loan" she answered, Daniel shut his eyes in confusion, they had literally no money in the bank, he was in dept of one thousand-sixty three dollars. "O-Okay, I'll have it in soon" he promised, turning and grabbing Vienna's hand in his own shaky hand, grabbing Pongos leash as the dog limped behind him excitedly. Daniel would have to work more hours at the library-he only earned fifty a week and he made better money in a day when he played guitar..but it was broken. How the hell was this boy gonna pay for his dogs injuries?

Aspen woke up, a weight on her throat as she attempted to move-her arms tied down by the doctors so she wouldn't pull the tube out. Aspens eyes widened, following a thick tube from a small machine leading to her throat, dropping her head back in frustration, why was everything going wrong? Her neck hurt, specifically where the tube was inserted, it burned, she shook her head-attempting to loosen the tube, it was really hurting her, further than feeling sore. She had two small tubes up her nostrils to puncture in oxygen, the tube helping to filter it out as she rocked around, hating the feeling of being restrained. She attempted to open her mouth-once her jaw moved it stung her throat even more, she flinched, her head falling back into her pillow. Aspen shut her eyes-keeping the brimmed tears down before inching her head to turn to look at Cade, a sharp stinging in her neck before she forced herself to look at him, attempting to groan out in pain before no noise came out of her open mouth, her face pained as she caught his red-puffy eyes, her own narrowing with concern. What she wanted to do was ask him if he was okay, reach her arm out and hold his hand-tell him she was alright, that it wasn't his fault, that she would be fine. But she couldn't. She wanted to tease him about the dinner he'd asked her to, wanted to yell at him for not using his gun, she wanted to scream out to him-but she couldn't. She was restrained, she hated the feeling, her eyes glossing over before she let a tear fall. her hand open and shutting-her knuckles bruised and cut but man did she want his hand in hers, even if she hated to admit it.

Jack looked down at the girl before pressing a red button to call in a nurse. A woman entering in a hurry before asking if everything was okay. He nodded, "I-I need to get home, my-my sister-she needs me there" he called out, sitting up, wincing when his injured arm hit the side of the bed. "Sir, you know we can't let you leave until the check up tomorrow" she said calmly, Jack growing frustrated, shaking his head, "But-but I need to go! She's-hurting!" he blurted, his eyes narrowing, thinking of what could of possibly happened with his sister this time. She also suffered from depression, she was known to harm herself and for that she took medication-she was 'sick' and Jack wasn't allowed to see her, so his mother calling him to come see her had to mean something serious happened. "Sir-you know I can't let you leave" she said sternly, crossing her arms, "I'm fine! Just let me go-please" he pleaded, his eyes glossing over as the nurse sent him a pointed look, "No. Ma'am, control your little boyfriend-don't press that button unless something bad has happened" she sneered, leaving and slamming the door as Jack groaned in frustration. Pulling down the railing on the side of the bed and using his good arm to pull himself off of the bed, steadying himself on the floor, his arm soar as he grabbed his clothes, walking to the bathroom attached to the room. He got in-changing, it was a bit of a struggle but eventually he changed. He walked out, grabbing the car keys from the table and looking at Mercury, "Mercury-we needa go, now. I don't like hospitals-this isn't to just get out though, my sister's hurt herself, I need to check on her, can you please drive me?" he asked, his voice hoarse from lack of sleep and he held out the keys with saddened pleading eyes.
