Your walking in the middle of night, breathing heavily and in pain. There's no where to go and your in trouble. But by what? You don't know, how long you've been walking or how long it's been sense you'd had contact with another cat. You now your in danger, but you don't know by what. Then you stop, you see these yellow eyes staring straight at you. It makes you jump out of your skin.

stormstar stood at the edge of the elevated rock, the sunlight streaming from the open canopy bathed her orange face in it's warmth. her tail flickered behind her, pleased by the elements presence during the ceremony. opening her turquoise eyes, stormstar's gaze fell over her gathered clan. "Sandprint clan," she called out, "the time has come for an apprentice ceremony. i have chosen icepaw to be my apprentice, icepaw, come here."

Shock seemed to freeze Icepaw into place. She had already gained the rank of apprentice previously but sickness took her previous mentor leaving her alone in a sea of emotions a 9 moon old cat shouldn't be left to experience on their own. Icepaw knew as her leader was making that announcement that it was about her. What she wasn't expecting was for her new mentor to be Stormstar herself.

Shaking her head in an attempt to bring herself back to the present, she took a few tentative steps towards her leader and new mentor.

Nightpaw heard the leaders voice and directioned his ears towards the sound. His mouth was full of herbs, and while he knew listening to the leader was important he also didn't want to fall behind in case Snowfeather was to investigate his work.

He nearly coughed on the herbs when he heard his sisters name. Muttering through the greens, he placed them down and padded towards the growing group of cats.

Shadownight had found herself sleeping in once again. She cursed under her breath when she heard Stormstars voice and felt the warm sunshine upon her pelt. She scrambled out of her nest and towards the group of cats near the center of camp.

stormstar's bright blue eyes raked over icepaw's tiny frame. the she-cat would be a good apprentice, it was a stroke of misfortune by starclan that riverberry had fallen ill. rest assured, she was being taken care of by the medicine cat. "icepaw," stormstar said welcomingly, patting the spot before her with the tip of her white tail. "do you accept me as your new mentor?" while the assignment was by stormstar's appointment, she wanted to ensure the grey apprentice that she had choice in the matter too.

Icepaw carefully made her way up and sat next to Stormstar. This was the closest she had ever been to her leader, and being this close she realized how large she was compared to her own small self. "I- Uh- Yes. Yes, I do." Her heart was pounding in her chest and she felt her body grow hot in embarrassment as she stuttered over her words. "I accept." If she didn't feel pressured to be an amazing warrior previously, the heat was really on her now.

stormstar chuckled softly at icepaw before bumping her muzzle over the grey molly's forehead, "hey, lighten up icepaw, i'm not that scary am i?" the leader cooed playfully, attempting to ease the anxiety she anticipated building up in her new apprentice. "sandprintclan, i give you, icepaw!" the clan yowled in excitement, ready to spring up with renewed energy. "as my apprentice, i will have you escort me on a border patrol icepaw." turning back to the clan, stormstar summoned the warriors. "shadownight, join us please." once the meeting ended, the copper furred feline descended down the ledge, claws digging into the soft dirt. "the kill pile is rather low," she said frowning, her gaze darting over to nightpaw, "nightpaw, have you mentor take you on a hunt."

MothHeart heard the announcement and came out to see what it was about. Oh, Stormstar was choosing an apprentice. MothHeart walks to the gathering and lisens as the apprentice gets united as Stormstars apprentice. When it's done, MothHeart walks away from the gathering to the prey pile.

"No! It's just. I'm." Icepaw struggled to form words and decided to not try and finish her sentence. A strange relaxing sensation flowed through her as Stormstar made an attempt at relieving some of the anxiety in her. Icepaw inhaled deeply before her breath caught in her throat again. "What? A border patrol?"

Nightpaw heard his leaders command but seemed confused by it. He was a medicine cat apprentice, he didn't see why he needed to go on a hunting patrol. He didn't want to seem rude, but he also wasn't sure on how to reply, so he didn't. Instead he nodded and turned to enter the medicine den.

"Absolutely, Stormstar" Shadownight trotted up next to Stormstar, chancing a glance at the new apprentice before looking ahead again. Shadownight was pleasant in every sense of the word, but that didn't mean she knew how to interact around young cats, especially those that were just leaving their mothers sides.

stormstar acknowledged mothheart with a flick of her ear. "shadownight, glad you could join us," stormheart commented conversationally, already padding to the entrance of the designated clan. "we can start off with perfecting your hunters croutch icepaw," she informed her grey apprentice, tapping her on the shoulder before trotting up the small incline, claws digging into the earth. "why don't you demonstrate shadownight?"
