i was making my first fursuit head and got a first degree burn from hot glue...im taking a pause rn.

im not proud of it at all.

You’ll get there with shaping. I just cut foam down into small pieces and it’s like...a huge puzzle lol

Also sorry but you’re going to burn your fingers a lot lol. There’s been several times I’ve stuck my fingers straight into fresh hot glue to hold stuff in place

If a glob gets on your fingers- rub your fingers together sorta like rolling the liquid hot glue with them. This’ll solidify it quickly. It’ll sting for a second or two but it’ll eliminate the time the burning liquid is touching your skin

I’m a type one diabetic so XD I have thickerish skin on my fingers, a tolerance, and so burns aren’t as bad to me.

I hope you get better soon! Also, your head will start to just gradually look better and better. I’m also currently working on my first fursuit and let me tell you, when I started, I wanted nothing more than to scrap it and start over. Luckily, I decided to keep it. It’s definitely a slow process to something you’re actually proud of, but once the ball starts rolling I guarantee you, you will be extremely happy with the result! Just keep trying! Edit: I also understand your excitement about starting. The night I got my foam and started my bucket head base, I slept for about 3 hours, woke up, and couldn’t fall asleep again because I just kept thinking about it!

Aw man, that sucks. I hope it starts to feel better. I had small burns all over my fingers when I made my head. I even managed to burn my foot when I stepped on the hot glue gun!

that sucks. eventually youll get more careful with touching the glue and the gun, but burns will still happen. i got a couple small second degree burns from making my first suit as well. i popped the blisters back then, dont make that same mistake i did haha.

I'm currently working on the first fursuit head I have ever made.


Been working on it for almost 2 weeks
