Fursuit Thread V2 OPEN (New Poll)

I started making my first fursuit about two days ago and was wondering if anyone could help me by critiquing my work thus far. Thanks!

It looks great! Especially for a first! I would suggest rounding out the head some more. Personally, I prefer less of a drop on my fursuit's face from the head to the muzzle, and add foam to create a gradual slope on the ridge of the nose/muzzle, but those things depend on the style you're going for, and the species your character is. If you prefer, say, a shorter muzzle for a more human-looking face, then I would keep it short. But I would build up that ridge more if it were me.

As said before, I would also build more support on the bottom jaw.

Maybe add some eyebrow ridges/more foam to exaggerate expression? If you're going for that, of course. All depends on your style and preference.

Thank you for the advice! I still have yet to attach the brow piece, round the cheeks, replace the bottom jaw, etc. so I'll make sure to keep this in mind when I add those details tonight!

Here is an example of some of my heads. I never finished the first one (left) and the right one is for the suit I’m making. I don’t like my first one because I just can’t seem to carve a smile (cue the cyanide and happiness clip “happy bears”) and so I accidentally made the cheeks too large. Also I like that you kept enough room for the forehead. On my older left one, there is barely any room at all (none) between the brows and the forehead. My right one does have closes eyes which makes a difference but not too crazily (also I’m super shook I can’t wait to fur them).It’s (left) not a bad base but it’s not as good as my other one (right). lol my right one looks more like a dog. The left one is a dog....who ate a beehive XD I can probably make the ears small and round and make it a toony bear head if anyone’s interested lol.. I hope you can reference off these and see what difference the cheeks size and forehead length make!

hello here is a dragon head I made ! I have it on auction over here if you actually wanna check it out ! it's my 3rd head I've made and is made of fleece. I would like to make more reptile/fleece heads in the future as I don't see them very often !! I certainly loved doing the teeth ahh

Omg, I love this head! Reptilian suits are kinda my thing lol! How is the ventilation in it? I overheat pretty easily so I wanted to ask your take.

I'd say the ventilation is pretty decent! the eyes are really big so you have a wide range of vision, and since the mouth goes pretty far back you can breathe easier than most suits! the black lining and teeth also hides yourself from the world !

my mom has a bunch of foam that looks pretty yellow, as she used to do upholstery. If I tried to make a fursuit head (which i have no experience in), would it turn out well? It's this thin foam, and its not very squishy like memory foam.
I dont even have any fleece or fur so i shouldnt bother lol

About how thick is it? The foam I’m currently using is 1” upholstery foam and it’s just right for my head. It also depends how much you have of it. Sure, I’m no professional, I’m working on my first head right now, but I hope this can help you out!
