๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐๐๐ฒ - ๐๐:๐๐ ๐.๐ฆ.
the siren sounded. ricocheting throughout the entirety of the building. followed by blinding, flashing red lights.
an announcement overtaking the building, a mess of color and sound.
"#7666 has escaped! i repeat, project #7666 has escaped!"
she ran faster. the damn collar. the collar!
she began clawing and prying at it, doing everything in her strength to will it off.
she had to get it off or else she was done for, she'd never get out of this place.
she looked around frantically, there had to be a way to get it off...
she felt around and found a lock.
a key.
she needed a key.
lilith ran into a nearby room and began searching around. while the size of her made
everything rather inconvenient, she couldn't give up.
then she found a lab worker's coat, and after tearing it to shreds, in the center of the pile of fabric was a silver key.
she picked it up, and jammed it into the lock, turning it.
the collar fell off, clambering against the floor.
she couldn't believe it. but there was little time to bask in such a victory. she had to keep going.
they were outside the door, two of them.
she ran right at them, throwing her head around and ready to kill.
they moved out of the way, terrified.
lilith turned, and continued on her way, running.
always running.
freedom. this was her chance.
what she was to do with herself she couldn't quite say - as she no longer was of her kind. but she'd worry about that later.
she killed whoever was sent after her and didn't spare it a second thought.
finally, she made it.
she really, truly made it.
the building was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by forest, somewhere nobody would just be walking around and stumble across by circumstance. you had to know where it was to get there.
she scurried into the woods, running. just running. never looking back.
she knew they'd come after her, likely for the rest of her life, but she'd just keep running.
she'd never stop running.

even years later, they were still after her.
they would always be, forever and ever. just as she would run, forever and ever.
she wouldn't go back there. she couldn't.
this life was entirely different from her past life - she stayed away from civilization, lurking within the depths of the wild. hunting, watching. doomed to never feel such emotion as love again.
he appeared in her nightmares, his pale face and blue lips. screaming, begging her to not kill him.
but she always did.
even if authority was to find out she'd murdered, it wasn't like they could jail her for such crimes. she was an animal. even so, the idea of facing such consequences terrified her, because it was likely what would happen is she would be caged once more - perhaps even in that place if her guessings that they worked alongside the government were true. if not, those people would get their paws on her somehow, someway.
she was adjusting to this life, slowly but surely, but there was no doubt in her mind that she'd do anything to go back to what once was and never would be again. a normal life, as a kalon, not an unearthly creature of some other world.
but she couldn't.
so she went on.

๐๐ฑ๐ญ๐ซ๐(๐ฌ):
they'd gotten her.
she was back, although this time far more restrained than before. with shackles secured not only around her neck but also her feet and arms. they were going to ensure she had no possible way of getting back out, and she'd pay dearly for what she did, no doubt about that.
she was truly petrified.
why was she stupid enough to believe they'd actually given up on her?
maybe she deserved to be here.
no...
she wouldn't even wish such a thing upon lucien - or would she?
then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw him. walking towards her at a leisurely pace with the most nefarious smirk she'd ever seen - it even beat the doctors. his voice was like honey as he crooned at her, shaking his head.
"oh, you poor thing. who would've thought you'd end up here again?"
how was he even alive?
she had stared directly into those lifeless eyes, and he was as good as gone. had she not made sure of it?
what she did know was he was standing above her, looking down upon her. he now the predator and she the cowering prey.
"you probably thought i really loved you - didn't you? well, when you were human, anyway. funny thing is, i never did, nor will i ever. oh, especially now!"
she couldn't believe it.
she wanted to tear him limb from limb, and she was determined to do so. but she was held down, made entirely immobile and vulnerable to his capabilities.
he even clucked his tongue at her, like a mother scolding a naive child.
"nice try, but touching me isn't going to happen. we made sure of that. do you really think i'd come waltzing in here so freely without some form of precaution? i tried to play nice with you, i really did, but obviously playing nice isn't going to work."
lilith let out a monstrous roar, showing off her serrated fangs. she growled and thrashed her teeth together repeatedly as if it was lucien's neck instead of the air she was biting down upon.
"oh the things we have planned for you... you thought life was bad beforehand? you haven't seen anything yet."
she knew he wasn't lying, as much as she wanted him to be...
she should've just stayed.
she'd only made everything worse for herself and was now ensured a long life of horror and endless torture. there was no telling what she would endure.
"how foolish you must feel, and how foolish you are. you honestly believed we'd just give up in finding you? oh no, not a life's worth of work. we can't have a freak such as yourself roaming the streets freely, either."
freak.
she hated the word more than anything - it set something off deep within her. and it certainly showed. her irises grew yellow, something now so awfully familiar, as all she could really feel was anger.
"awww, mad, freak? please, get over it. what we call you is the least of your damn worries."
she knew he was right. of course he was. just like he was right about everything else. as much as she despised admitting it.
"well, i think i've had enough of you, nighty night."
then he pulled out a syringe, and inserting it into her neck, the drugs immediately took over.
she was pulled under.
she woke in a frenzy. struggling to get up but managing, and looking around into the night, she discovered all was just a nightmare. she was surrounded by trees, her safe haven. her home.
although, what if it was a warning?
if it was, then she'd just have to keep going.
