Me and my family went boating for a weekend at a lake about an hour or so from our house. We were anchored like 20 feet from the shore and a grizzly bear and it's 2 babies come out of the trees. They didn't get very close, but they still stayed and chilled with us for a good half an hour or so. I wish I'd had my phone at the time. I'd have taken pictures.

I went to Mammoth Mountains and saw a black bear next to our car, we also saw a coyote in the road (it was alive) and the coyote was pretty big.

I've seen all kinds of things! Bears, elk, moose, eagles, osprey... it's not super exotic, but I love watching grebes! They're so fun to watch dive, especially in groups. Cormorants too, but there's something about grebes that I love. And Turkey Vultures! I see them all the time in the summer. They're one of my favorite animals.

Fortunately, rattlesnakes and scorpions want to leave us alone! They don't want to waste their venom on humans because we're too big to eat. Unfortunately, we sometimes catch those animals by surprise and they panic and sting/bite us. Still scary to come across them though.
I had a rattlesnake in the road once and there was no room to go around so all the cars were backed up. I had a hockey stick though so I was able to poke it and it slithered off. That was the only rattlesnake I've seen. I've been hiking and other people warned me about rattlesnakes on the trail, but they were always bull snakes.
