Yikes. Those cringe compilations are always awful, `specially since they don't ask for permission before adding people into their videos and that's just wrong.

On the bright side, you might find some other furries at school to be friends with.

I honestly don’t get the whole stigma??? Like, yeah, there are some furries who are weird and creepy, but I think every community has their own weirdos. Also, furries are a whole lot more common than people think. Most sports mascots are furries. The Easter bunny is a furry too, if you think about it

That's not it, though, they don't care about anthropomorphic animals. Most people believe furries do things that I can't list here do to the rules, and somehow that stigma has never faded. Normally I just ignore it, but cringe compilations tick me off, that's going too far with your blind hatred of something you don't even know the first thing about.

Sooo, I used to think only my close friends knew about it, but it turns out people have kinda known for a while. Some kid in my German class just decided to bring it up.

People talk behind my back, but nobody directly bullies me about it so whatever. People ain't nice about these things and that's just life. I'm moving to a new school soon, anyway.

I miss the days when people didn't really know what furries are since I could post furry art I made on my personal Instagram and nobody saw anything wrong with it. That was nice.

People talk behind my back, but nobody directly bullies me about it so whatever. People ain't nice about these things and that's just life. I'm moving to a new school soon, anyway.

yea same thing !! I wish people wouldn't be like "oh my god you're a furry ??" or "HA you're a furry ew." This happened back in freshmen year (I'm in college now), when I was drawing a furry I guess. This one kid behind me snap chatted it and it began spreading around the school and I got bullied for it haha (our year consists of at least 1000 people, only freshmen). I then learned to not tell anyone from then on.

Also, I've been making a partial suit for an anime convention I'm going to, but the thing is, I also have non furry friends who don't even know I'm a furry but also other furry friends as well... does anyone have any tips to like,,,, avoid them knowing because I am really anxious. the con is in march.

That's what people sound like behind my back, sadly. I deleted all furry-related stuff from my personal Instagram but it's kinda too late now. I used to openly talk about furry stuff on my social media; sometimes even mention it in school, and nobody besides my friends really understood what it was so I felt okay. Then after the stupid gamer-furry-war thing erupted on TikTok, everyone started figuring out that I was a furry with the understanding of what it meant, which made it so that I really can't talk about it anymore. It makes me real sad that I can't be as proud and open about the fandom as I used to be.

I'm a fully grown adult whos been out of school for years but even little 12 year old me in the early 00s got bullied for being a furry.
What people dont realise is that the 'bad' part of the fandom is just the loud minority, most furries just wanna make art and wear costumes and make new friends.
Dont let people put you out though it's literally just a hobby like football or video games.
Making alternate accounts just for furry stuff will probably keep nasty people off your back.
