Kage yawned. He had just returned from an early patrol. There was nothing to report, but he would go check later with Adika anyways. He scanned the ravine and saw his beta chatting with River, the new huntress. From the moment they met, River, Adika, and Kage were friends, practically like litermates. Something about them just clicked and they had already formed their own little friend group, teasing eachother and cracking jokes whenever possible. The black alpha padded over to the other two wolves. “Would you stop chattering like songbirds and hurry up? We need to hunt.” He grumbled tiredly. River rolled her eyes and smiled. “Well it looks like someone wok up on the wrong side of the nest. You should really get more sleep, Alpha.” She pouted. Her words earned a low chuckle from Adika and a sarcastic smirk from Kage, which soon turned into a sincere one. “Well not all of us can sleep in past sunrise, River.” He sighed, poking fun at her. She flicked his shoulder playfully with her tail and held her chin in the air. “Hey,” she protested “I was up late doing some night hunting.” Adika nudged her with his nose. “Elk dung!” He butted in “You went to bed after dinner and didn’t leave the den until you stumbled out of it like a badger this morning. Don’t forget, my nest is right next to yours.” River’s cheeks adopted a red hue at her words. Kage chuckled and rested his chin on her head. “Aww poor baby. Don’t make fun of her. She needs her beauty sleep.” He pouted. The female scoffed and pushed the two away. “Yea, I look better than both of you!” She claimed, shaking out her soft pelt “No wonder you don’t have mates. You’ll never get one looking like that.” Adika faked a hurt look and Kage let out a small cry of feign offense. He knew it was a harmless comment, but it did stir something inside him. A pack had to be ruled by two wolves. Two alphas. In order to be prosperous, he needed to find a mate. But now, they had to hunt. Couldn’t impress the ladies on an empty stomach! Kage shook his head with a smile and nudged his beta’s shoulder. “C’mon you dummies, let’s hunt.” The alpha led his hunting patrol out of the camp, ignoring Adika and River’s chit chat and planing a route to the best hunting grounds.

The Grimtooth Pack is found in the warmth of the south. Claiming what they have named as Toucan Cove, they are not only more secluded and hidden away from other packs, but they embrace the calming atmosphere of their cove. They are very wary of other packs but slow to fight, preferring to settle disputes calmly and peacefully. But do not mistake their reluctance to fight as weakness—if they deem it is needed they are not afraid to fight with teeth bared and claws flashing. They believe in a single and powerful god, Aiko, and they also believe she influences everything around them—the water, the wind, the sun, and the moon amongst other things.

Reaper—the reigning sovereign of the Grimtooth Pack. When they die, their Heir will inherit the throne. If there is no Heir, the rank is given to the Advisor.
Consort—the Reaper’s mate, does not hold any real power.
Heir—the progeny of the Reaper and their Consort, and the inheriter of the throne when the Reaper dies.
Advisor—the second in command to the Reaper. Can ascend the throne if, when the Reaper dies, there is no Heir.
Herbslist—the healer and receiver of omens and prophecies of the Pack who has an extensive knowledge of herbs.
Herbalist’s Second—the second of the Herbalist, in training to become the next Herbslist.
Commanders—the oldest and most experienced Warriors hold this rank, who are also known as the senior warriors.
Warriorrs—the fighters and hunters of the Pack.
Seconds—from the ages of six moons to twelve, Novices train underneath the Commanders and Warriors to become a Warrior.
Mothers—a temporary rank given to Warriors who are expecting or nursing kits and will return to the rank of Warrior once their pups are Seconds.
Servants—the lowest rank of the Pack. They are not Warriors, and never will be, or they are given this rank due to breaking one of the Pack’s laws. They are tasked with cleaning the living quarters and other low duties.

Two pups. That's what had been at the end of the paw-prints. Ace had guided them back to the camp, setting them up in the nursery with Poppy, explaining how he'd found them, and was now back out, searching for their parents. The two pups, despite being nearly the age of Training, were still just pups, and they hadn't known that something could be wrong when they woke up without their parents nearby. It had been sunhigh when Ace had found them, and according to the she-pup, who'd introduced herself as Pandora, had revealed that their parents had been missing since dawn the day prior.
