►APOCALYPTIC DOGS☽

It's the year 2124. Humans have eradicated themselves by nuking each other into extinction. Nature has taken over the worlds greatest cities. Common house pets are now feral, hunting in packs and fighting amongst each other. Your story will take place in an abandoned amusement park, the only thing between you and the wild is an old rusty chain link fence. It is your goal to survive, whether you fight for the top or bend to the strong.

RULES

1. Follow all forum rules.
2. Fight all you want in RP, but leave it in RP.
3. No overpowered characters
4. Realistic fights between dog breeds. If your character is a chihuahua fighting a Doberman, expect to lose. (There are exceptions of course like outsmarting them or ganging up on them)
5. No perfect characters. They have to have flaws.
6. There is no word requirement that you need to meet but no one-liners.
7. Turn signatures off!
8. Lastly, have fun! That's what we are all here for =)

Apollo was born in a cruel world. He was the smallest of the litter, always fighting for any morsel of food he could get. The many hardships of his life twisted his mind, molded him to be a monster. After defeating the last Alpha, he has since taken over the eastern territory of the old Amusement park. Now he is starting to eye the Northern territory and their plentiful food sources.

Poppy is always friendly and helpful to her packmates. She is always trying to undo the bad Apollo has done. One of her many flaws is being too trusting of others and handing out second chances like candy.

She was born into a loving pack and quickly worked through the ranks to lead hunter. Life was at its peak when Apollo ruined it all by taking over the territory. With nowhere else to go she was forced to stay with the cruel Alpha. It was either be killed out in the wilds or continue to scrape by with what little morsels she gets. Now she has been demoted to Omega.

Kazumi generally prefers not to talk to anyone, especially not those who have wronged her. She is very vengeful, especially to those who hurt her friends. On the outside, Kazumi is very cunning, dark, ruthless and proud, keeping her head held arrogantly high. Nonetheless, around Apollo, whom she is in a mild relationship, she is a caring, sugar-sweet darling with a bright and flirtatious sense of humor. Kazumi can be unforgiving on the outside as well, helping to drive home Apollo's iron-first natured rule.

Kazumi was born in a Japnese household in Tokyo and originally named Naomi to her loving parents Sakura and Kuro. She had an older brother named Nocturne. All was well, until her housefolk decided that Naomi had to leave. After she left, she never saw her family again. Taking to the wild was a life-changing experience, as Naomi struggled to learn how to live on her own. But gradually, she managed, although the experience turned her heart bitter, unfeeling, and cold. She met Apollo during the beginning days of her 2nd year, and by that point, she had changed her name to Kazumi, which she remembered meant fighter. She was a fighter, and one that she promised would not be conquered easily. Although their beginning relationship was extremely shaky and peppered with plentiful fights, Kazumi and Apollo gradually became lovers to each other. Together, they helped each other fight up the ranks, and they claimed their respective places as Alphas of the West Pack.

Although Kazumi is still struggling with internal grief from being exiled from her old Housefolk, she has already acknowledged that her place is as the West Pack, and that she should leave her past behind.

Personality
Helios is an older dog who has seen a lot more of the world for what it really is. Having had the idealism beaten out of him as a young scrap, he uses his experience to guide his pack through survival. He likes to think of himself as a realistic thinker, who plans accordingly to what the situation demands. And honestly? He's right. Arrogant but highly skilled, it isn't surprising how Helios has managed to stay as Alpha for years. Helios isn't exactly the loving, generous Alpha one might expect to be Apollo's foil; but even though his personality can be insufferable, he is a fair and just Alpha who deals strongly based on the ideas of justice. He believes in keeping the pack together through dignity and cooperation, but he knows that not all dogs will adhere to these things. Perhaps he is a bit too unforgiving of criminals, though.

Overall, while his confidence can be a bit much to swallow, Helios is older and thus is a fountain of advice. He always appreciates when the younger dogs come to him for help, or advice, or just having the drive to improve themselves.

History
Helios was born the son of the previous West Pack Alpha, Hyperion. Two of his littermates were stillborn and his brother, Emos, was sickly. It wasn't a surprise to Hyperion and his mate, Theia, when Emos passed a few seasons later. The Alpha pair didn't try for more children for a few years, Hyperion focusing his time and energy to raising and training Helios.

Helios was taught from early on that the world was a cruel place, with dogs fighting every day for resources. A dear friend could die at the claws of another over a mouse. An entire dog's brood of children could be swept by pestilence overnight. Helios came to learn that the world they lived in was awful, but it was theirs and they just had to make it into something. Helios learned to accept this, and also learned how to fight and hunt with the best teachers. He was already well into his young adulthood when his mother fell pregnant with another litter. Hyperion was suspicious; he hadn't touched her for quite a while, he was pretty sure. But Theia convinced him his memory was failing him, and he passed it off as nothing.

Until it was time to give birth. Theia entered a difficult labor and bled too much, and only one female pup could be saved. Hyperion was angered when he saw that the puppy clearly had different lineage. Both he and Theia were wolfhounds, but this one pup clearly had Labrador blood in her! Grieving but enraged at the betrayal, Hyperion snapped. He demanded answers from all Labrador members of the pack, and when he received none he began to shed blood. Helios tried rationalizing it to him; perhaps, the unwanted sire came from East Pack? But Hyperion was having none of it. Deciding that he was senile and unsafe to lead, the pack tried to force him out. Hyperion wouldn't leave, and so Helios was forced to do it himself. They forced the large Hyperion out of a rip in the chain fence and guarded the entrance so that he couldn't get back in without a fight. Hyperion promised that he would find another way back in, and stalked off into the wild.

He was never seen again.

Now that Hyperion was gone, a power struggle formed as young males sought the rank. Helios, not wanting to be demoted or lose a secure future for his sister, immediately put to using both wits and brawn. And in the end he won, officially claiming his title as Alpha. He has been Alpha for the last few years, watching Selene grow up into a fine young female. He has had to fend off a few attempts at usurping his rank, but for the most part he treats his pack members well enough to not cause contempt.

Personality
Utah loves playing with other dogs, but only when they’re nice. She still acts like a puppy, with her carefree attitude, and wishes she still was. Her eyes gleam with innocence, but ever since the Great Divide (that’s what she called the death of humans) Utah has been very insecure and shy. She tries not to dwell in the past, but ghosts haunt her thoughts. Utah will seem to go insane and have a new personality, one that’s mean and cruel and loves the fire of the world.

History
Utah was born in a litter of five, with her Mother, Cali (California), and her pop, York (New York). She had two brothers, Idaho and Al (Alabama), and two sisters, Florida and Alaska. They all lived in a hospitable shelter. Utah’s best friend was Marble, an old Australian Malamute. One night York informed the pups that Marble had passed, and Cali finished that off with telling the pups that they were leaving the shelter, and added in a mutter there would be a great divide, The Great Divide. Utah wondered what caused Marble’s death the night before. Marble was the oldest in the shelter, but he wasn’t that old, and he was in perfect health. Either way, Utah and her family left the next night. Was this The Great Divide? Marble’s death? Was The Great Divide leaving the shelter? Utah discovered the next night, the rest of her family was gone. Was it The Great Divide? Utah searched for them. Cali -deceased, York - deceased, Florida - deceased, Alaska - deceased, Idaho - deceased, Al - deceased. This was one of the greatest divides in Utah’s life. However, soon enough, she found out there was a greater divide, The Great Divide.

Notes about the player
I like to write in first person, and I tend to give my characters long back stories (sorry about that). And if it’s still okay, I only write one-liners when it comes to questioning another player, otherwise I feel the conversation is one sided, or like I’m throwing all my questions out there at once. With this character, I don’t think I have to worry about doing that, because she could totally throw all her questions out at once, with her exited and curious personality.

Personality
Athena is usually snarky/snappy and rude at first, she tends to be 'stone cold' as some may say. She's hard to trust in people but she can be trusted easily, after all, her life is always on the line for her pack. However, she is very smart and intelligent, and after you get past the rough stages of getting to know her and she opens up, then maybe you'll see the hint of who she really is, behind her tough facade.

History
Athena used to work for an officer, officer Deans in-fact. Her life was running smoothly, then it became more hectic within a week of the human race endangering each other. She lived at home with Isabelle, her officers daughter, when she wasn't 'working'. She often solved the crimes, took down the bad guys, the usual..all until one day. Her and Isabelle had been outside, playing fetch when a low loud bellow sounded, it was like a loud slap to the air, the whole world stopped and when she dropped her stick Isabelle was on the floor. She'd gotten shot. Athena didn't know what to do, Deans was running errands but when he returned the same thing only happened, and he dropped dead too. Her family and her world had crumbled before her, and she too was being scoped but she managed to escape by the slightest. Now she roamed the old amusement park where lived many old memories of them, she missed them, that was why she was so tough on herself and others..but ever since the pack had took her in she'd warmed up a bit, and she was grateful.

Appearance
Athena has a few bullet wounds/scars on her right shoulder and left hind leg, and she wears her permanent chain around her neck, it was the same chain that was used as her leash when she was a canine, she likes to remember officer deans

She lived with her ‘mother’ because her spouse had deceased of cancer. She was a guide dog, caring for the blind and sick. She loves helping people. She often took in pups in as her own to give them the care they couldn’t have from their original mum or dad. Her name before was belong, but she changed it herself to show himself as a symbol of love and care. She can snap, though. Being a Gemini, she is two faced as people say. If she gets annoyed or angry, holy moly take about 50 steps back. Other than that, she is a very smart, silly and caring dog and a great friend.
