Big Rarity Update - read for details!

So after mostly re-sorting my trade groups (ow my hand, still have about 50 pages of commons to look through lol), the rarity distribution seems much better now. I noticed a lot of pets from 2012 and older jumped up a tier while the pets from 2015 to now mostly went down a tier (or two in some cases!). Uncommons from around the past two years got hit the hardest being the ones that mostly did the big two tier jump down to very common. But!! It makes a lot of sense because I've noticed a lot recently that I'd get like 5 of the same monthly pet and they all turned out uncommon somehow.

For those upset about the drop in rarity of their recent uncommons, think about it as being corrected and not lowered. What the rarities are displaying now are more "true" to their availability than before the update. They were never truly uncommon, just hiding behind and outdated rarity scale!

I'm more upset about re-sorting lol. I just finished then this happened.

I am really happy with this updates, there's a lot of pros....and a bit of cons.
But all-in-all, I feel like they should've gave a warning, so you could decide whether you REALLY wanted to trade that pet.
I am doing an art competition, with a rainbow mane as a prize, but it just turned omgsr (which is AWESOME), but I wasn't planning on giving out such a big prize.

Eww that's quite a jam to be in. I would maybe suggest posting an announcement on the main page (and title) of your comp and saying you will be a little more particular with what you pick as the winner along with saying something that would convince the people entering to up their game with the quality of the art pieces they enter in. ^^

I am finding so many very rares what weren't VR before. Like literally the 2010 New Years Gupps turned VR.

And the Wild Dog litter went VR which is fitting since I rarely see them anymore. A few other VR surprises are also about. I also laughed at all the omgsc's I have now lol.

Didn't realise how many pets I had until just now when I started to sort through them... 3000+ This is an issue XD Just went through every single one and picked out all the monthly adopts omgsc-common and put them in their own group so that pretty much split it in half, but now I have to go through all of those again to take out any events or uc+ pets, and then I have to go through the other half and sort out all the separate events, uc+ pets, and particular pets that need to go into a locked folder. Wish me luck.

Finally...it took me 4 hours...

Previously I had over 1000 uncommons in my uncommons group

Lots of mixed emotions. A warning really would’ve been nice though.

While nothing for me drastically changed I know that going through my wishlist and groups again will be a pain. I’ve been on here since 2016 and only managed to organize my pets last May- god help me. My groups will likely rot as-is.

A lot of pets went OMGSR, which is also.. frustrating? It’s making it even more difficult for newer players to gain valuable pets. I don’t have too many dreamies to begin with, so again it doesn’t effect me as much, but even still valuable pets seem to be out of reach now. How will people value the new rares? How will art shops and trades move along from now on?

It’s a lot to take in I suppose, but I’ll be avoiding trading for a good while (Unsure about anyone else.) yes the update was needed but again, a warning would’ve been really nice.

Seems a lot of sites are changing all of a sudden, things I’m enjoying are adjusting. Perhaps I’m just a bit bitter due to the mass changes all at once (not just on CS.) As always I hope this is beneficial in the long run. After all, if I hated it enough I could just leave!

Hopefully the site doesn’t turn into chaos, I know a change like this will hurt a lot of users... a bit nervous for the rares list updates if there are any. Guess we will have to wait it out ~

I find it funny how literally every single pet from 2018 is OMGSC to VC. I’m guessing this is because Only the pets of active users were counted and this meant a whole bunch of 2018 pets lol!

At first I was a bit bummed out because I have my pets sorted very complicatedly and now it will take hours to redo, but then while looking through my pets....
