Big Rarity Update - read for details!

I honestly love this- the huge majority of my pets were upped in rarity! Previously useless 2010 uncommons are now rare, rare warrior cats are now very rare. This is awesome!! ^^

I'm kind of sad because of this because most of my pets are vc or omgsc now, and some of my rares are uc.

Well with those it could mess up the whole list system, so gotta wait for it to have even higher demands.

The rares list is not official and has nothing to do with how the site handles rarities^^
The August pets have always had somewhat of a rarity gap compared to the July pets. The sorbets were released at the end of July, which is why they're sorted there in the archive, but most of the time that they were available was actually August.^^

Honestly, im kind of upset.
the amount of OMGSR's that came out of this update makes it feel like owning one is no longer important and feels like it decreased in value. The amount of rats that became OMGSR is honestly wild, i have never seen any of the rats go for fair/overpay, but maybe im bias since i lowkey hate some rats.
This has also been upetting due to how many trades i accepted and now they are extremely unfair..
But, life goes on i guess, and its all just pixels!

there is no need to be upset as this update just reflects the real worth of a pet.
So many rats turned omgsr because they are really that rare and it was predicted long ago they were worth much more than what people thought. Just because they aren’t known for having good demand doesn’t mean they aren’t worth that much. There might be people who would love to own one of these rats, it’s all personal preference.
No one really lost value in their collections because the changes (and also decreases of some rarities) hit all users on here the same.
I also just traded a now omgsr liontail for a sorbet just a week ago, but I’m not mad at all at this. I am just happy that now probably the greedy demand for some pets will die down and am happy that trading will probably become much more transparent and fair. I really don’t see a single disadvantage in this update, except new list arrangements and getting used to this.

of course it does change the worth of the pets..
Especially since they stopped including inactive accounts to the rarity counting system
Unless loads of these inactive users somehow log in and decide to play this site again, there won’t be much change in any of the new rarities.

It probably doesn’t really change the worth of the pets because some pets were already known to be worth much more or less than their original rarity tag, but the changes of the tags (especially those from vr->omgsr) indeed show that some pets are worth much more than we thought and it definitely does increase the worth for some pets a lot.

Went from having 140 rares to 164 rares! A LOT of my trade-specific commons got downgraded, though.
In the long run, this will be super helpful for trading.
