[Boomer]

"Well, maybe the border should be white..." she said softly, "I think the frosting should be like the sunset, with the water towards the bottom." Alessa drew a better sketch and showed it to Marcie. "Something like this." she said.

"I think I can do that," Marcie said, leaning in for a closer look. "Gosh, you're so talented. You would probably like my niece, she likes to draw too."

[Boomer]

"Oh, thank you..." said Alessa quietly, "I didn't really take any time with this one." She then tilted her head slightly. "Oh?" she said, "A niece is your sibling's child, right? My mother..." Alessa paused for a moment before clearing her throat. "- she didn't have siblings." she finished.

"Yes, she's my older brother's ten-year-old daughter." Replied Marcie. "Do you have any siblings?" The hyena pulled a tray of donuts out of the display cabinet. There were some light blue ones with rainbow star sprinkles and white stripes, a few rainbow frosted ones, and some galaxy ones. The galaxy donuts had swirls of blue and pink on purple, dusted lightly with edible glitter.

[Boomer]

"No, well... not any biological ones." she answered, "I have an adopted sister..." She looked over at the donuts, a bit amazed at how they looked. "You're really good at frosting..." she murmured.

“Thank you,” Marcie smiled. “I’ve been baking since I was 12, with plenty of help from my grandma. Frosting is definitely my favorite part.” She offered a donut to both Alessa and Sammy.

[Boomer]

”It seems to be the most fun...” she agreed. Alessa likes any sort of artwork, even on sweets. She happily took the donut and thanked Marcie before taking a bite.

Sammy was a bit reluctant to take one of Marcie’s donuts. Marcie noticed and gave him a warm smile. “It’s on the house.” she said. Sammy then slowly took one and took a bite, amazed by the quality.

[Boomer]

"This is amazing..." murmured Alessa, "Too bad the donuts can't be a cake." She finished her treat before wiping her muzzle with a napkin.

“Agreed,” Sammy chimed in. “You’re a really talented baker, I can see why my friend recommended you.”
“Thank you both,” said Marcie. “I think we’ve covered everything for the cake. Would you like anything else?”
Sammy glanced down to Alessa. “Would you like to get something for Margaret?” He asked.
