"That's so cool!" said Alexa, not noticing the flicker of sadness that seemed to find the other girl as she looked around the subway. "We have almost the same name!" She gasped, then squealed into the hand that covered her mouth. "Maybe we're the same person! What's your favorite kind of music?" She wasn't being weird or anything- well, she was being perhaps a bit strange, but that was just how Alexa acted. Most of the time she was so excited over something ridiculous that she couldn't remember important things, like where she had been going in the first place. As was the case now, when the doors slid shut and she realized that the stop had been her own.

Alex let an amused expression cross her face fleetingly at the girls out burst but then replied with an airy "rock, classic, pop, anything but rap really!" she shrugged shooting a bemused look at the girl as she saw her realise that had been her stop. "I have a return ticket if you want, I'm not going back" she let a wild look escape and settled on her eyes "ever!" she laughed and looked up as the train pulled to a halt. She pulled a ticket from her pocket and shoved it in Alexa's hand, before she could protest. Then as the doors opened she leapt off onto the stone platform melting into the crowd with a single wave of her hand.

She climbed the steps, her head down and her hands in her pockets. She pushed through the crowd making sure not to look up incase she saw anything like what she had seen in the carriage. She finally looked up as she stepped into the museum sure that even broken souls would come here. She walked straight through to her favourite part; Solar System. Stopping she looked up at the scaled model of the universe and smiled.

"Okay, bye!" called Alexa with a laugh and a wave. She stepped off of the subway as the doors were closing and waited for the next train to arrive. Her morning- which had been dull and slightly gray- had just been brightened. It was nice, although she could have done it herself. The young woman stepped onto the return train as it pulled up and handed the conductor the return ticket Alexis had given her. "Thank," she said when he punched it, then went to find a seat, backpack pulled up onto her knees. There wasn't much to see in the underground tunnels, but as the train shot above ground again, Alexa spotted an ad on the wall of a building.
"Natural History Museum Grand Reopening!"
read the sign, and below that,
"New exhibits, and old ones remodeled!
Solar System!
Ice Age!
Dinosaurs!
Visit today for a special discount!"
Alexa checked her watch, and grinned. After work, she would have several hours before the museum closed. She'd never been there before, but now seemed as good a time as any to go.
