Rome laughed at Tessa's remark about chaperoning, but quieted down as she mentioned someone else coming to hang out with them. It was no secret that Rome wasn't the greatest people person. That isn't to say he despised meeting new people, or that he was intentionally rude to them, he just didn't really know how to act in front of new people. He didn't consider himself shy, but that didn't mean he wasn't shy at all. Even so, he actually didn't mind someone else coming along, especially since Tessa was already friends with said person and could make sure thing's didn't get awkward. Rome nodded and looked down at her, not realizing his eyes drifted away while he was in thought. "Yeah of course." He said with a sincere smile. You could tell whether or not Rome's smile was sincere, he wasn't so good at hiding the fake ones. There was a reason he was meant to be a cook, in the back, away from potentially embarrassing himself.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed the man he and Tessa had been discussing seemed to be trying to get his attention. He looked to Tessa and nudged his head in Archer's direction before saying, "Be right back." He walked towards the other person, and as he reached him, stopped and gave him a smile- and as aforementioned, this one was clearly a little forced. It wasn't that he was trying to be rude or sarcastic, but to anyone who didn't give it a second thought, it may seem that way. He decided to give up the smile and clasped his hands together. "Is there something you need, sir?" He spoke with a firm, yet polite voice. Noticing the empty drink on the table, he beckoned to it with a finger before asking, "A refill maybe?" He studied the man's face as he asked this, wondering why he hadn't seen him around here before, especially if Tessa knew him.

"aces thanks," tessa said, looking down at her phone momentarily as rome replied to her. she looked up again, laughing already at the joke she hadn't even said yet. "plus it'll give us someone to talk to while elliot is distracted by his special someone he's bringing." she couldn't help but tease a little, it was what friends did.

"no worries," she said, again waving rome away. "i'm interrupting you, remember?" she laughed as she watched him go over to archer's table, wondering for a moment what the two were talking about. it hit her like a truck suddenly, as she watched rome interact with her other friend, how much she adored the cook. he was a sweetheart, and while some found his jokes on the borderline of cheesy and awful, tessa loved them. and he's a really good friend, she thought, feeling a wave of happiness wash over her.

all of a sudden she felt a little less alone, a little less frustrated. it was almost overwhelming how quickly her mood had changed now that she was among friends. she reached for her phone again. we're waiting for a friend to get off work, but we're hanging out here for now xo she sent to felix, along with the location of the restaurant. that warmth that she was feeling, she wanted to share it around.

Archer McAllister
| 26 | Closeted Homosexual | Detective | Location; The Restaurant
| Feeling; Tired | Tagged; Tessa, Rome, Nieves |

Archer watched the man make his way over to him, studying his emotions,
not intentionally. By the looks of it the detective deduced he was coming
off shift soon, presumably going somewhere with Tessa."Ah, yes please, a
jack and coke would be great." Archer replied slowly, trying to not look
too sternly at the man beside him. "Actually, make it a double. Thanks."
The detective added, remember the text he had just received from
Nieves. The blond man wondered if he came off as too rude, he sighed
slightly, he had a habit of being unintentionally hostile, something which
he needed to work on. "Sorry, it's been a long day." He added quietly,
trying to apologise if he was coming off as rude. His mind turned back
to Nieves, for a moment, he wondered what the socialite was going to
do this time. Archer would quickly down his drink then leave. He wanted
to get home to his dog, have a few more drinks, do some work until he falls
asleep.

Rome nodded to Archer and took his empty cup, about to walk away but hesitating as the man apologized. Rome gave a half-hearted shrug and took a step backwards. "Well, I agree with you on that." He said, a little quietly. It had indeed been a long day. He didn't find the man needed to apologize, but maybe that was because he was so used to doing it as well. He turned back around and went to the kitchen where he prepared a new glass of jack and coke, this one a little stronger than the last, and brought it back out.

Rome set down a new cocktail napkin and set the drink down on it, wiping his hands of the condensation left from the cool glass. "Can I help you with anything else?" You could tell Rome was trying, but his voice was still so somber and almost hidden, with little to no enthusiasm. He cleared his throat, realizing this himself, and tried to speak with a more welcoming tone. "More fries, on the house?" 'on the house' meant what it always meant- he was gonna take them from the kitchen and not tell anyone about it. Maybe that would come back to bite him on the butt one of these days, but like most things, he just pushed that out of his mind.

This explains why you aren't a waiter. He thought, recalling how hard it's always been for him to act peppy when he was the farthest from peppy. That wasn't necessarily true for all the time, if he opened up like he did with Tessa or Elliot, he was pleasant to be around. That was the hardest part though, opening him up.

Sometimes he wondered if he could transfer to a better restaurant, one not so... messy. He really believed that he was a good cook and could amount to more than running a whole business himself and not getting paid for all the extra. It had been something he'd been stressing about for a couple of months. Oh well though, he'd think about it later, that's what he always said. For tonight he'd focus on his friends and just try to have a good time.

Twenty-three years. / Cis-female. / heterosexual / location: work place. / Tags: nobody in particular. / Waitress

Jocelyn held her small, puny notepad in her tense hands as she looked down at the customer, a clearly anti-charismatic man. The fellow looked up at her regularly with a drunken slurred face, his beer belly sagging out of his stained shirt, that he obviously bought in some strange beer store. He had a mocking look in his eyes, seeing that she was constantly rocking back and forth on her feet as he took his order. He asked for a long list, even if he was only a table of one, and he couldn't help but roll his eyes whenever Jocelyn had to ask him to repeat his drunken gibberish. She looked down at him, if she didn't have any manners, she would've gladly mockingly looked at him in the same manner that he looked at her, disgusted and impatient and straight out obnoxious. It was the end of her shift, and yet, she felt as if she had to drag a boulder up a hill to just take a simple order.
Once that she dealt with the mildly revolting gentleman, she went over to the kitchen, placing the piece of paper down and reading out what had been ordered. And as if her life was a horrible dimension of endless loops, she went back to take another order.

▕ GIANCARLO DE LA VEGA
pronouns he/him or they/them location the bar tagging elliot
giancarlo listened to elliot's statement, nodding and looking him over as he did as if trying to figure out what he meant by it. "maybe i'm a little biased, but i don't see anything wrong with your teeth. or with bein' gay," he commented with a slight shrug of his shoulders. giancarlo didn't bother to elaborate on why that was- he figured that elliot could probably inference his reasoning just from the fact carlo had approached him in the first place. and being straightforward about finding someone attractive had never really been carlo's style.

the lady gave the same half-laugh as he had before when elliot asked why he wasn't drinking, picking up his glass again. "i generally save getting plastered for the second date, but if it makes you feel more comfortable..." he trailed off, taking his shot with the lack of grace that only comes with having already drank more than enough and setting the empty glass upside down on the table.

"you aren't boring me," giancarlo explained. as much as he hated to admit it, he was rather enjoying the man's company. not only was elliot attractive, but there was something about him that giancarlo could only describe as lively, and while he might not be able to relate to that trait, he could appreciate it in his impromptu date. and- hell, a gal could really get used to the way elliot was looking at him. "if that's your way of trying to get me out of here, though, then lead the way."

▕ NIEVES SIMON-SANTOS
pronouns they/them location fifth avenue tagging archer/open
nieves was far too pleased with themself when their phone buzzed with an answer from archer- and with the fact they seemed to have gotten some sort of rise out of the man. they smiled down at their phone with their vulpine grin, dark curls falling over their shoulders as they typed out an answer. "does that mean you're gunna come stop me?" they replied, hitting send before typing out another quick message. "better get here quick, big cat, unless you wanna see me on the morning news. mommy's bored, i need some entertainment."

truth be told, nieves didn't actually know what they were planning on doing- they hadn't thought this far, they had just figured that the threat of them doing something to disrupt the peace would be enough to get anyone's attention, especially their dear detective's. being a person of their word, though, nieves quickly formulated a plan. they put their phone back in their pocket, walking a few storefronts down to coach and nodding politely at one of the attendants as they entered. they didn't bother to look around much- nieves made a beeline for the first bag that caught their eye, then pulled out their phone and took a picture of it, sending that to archer as well, with the caption "do you think this is cute?"

Archer McAllister
| 26 | Closeted Homosexual | Detective | Location; The Restaurant/Fifth ave
| Feeling; Tired | Tagged; Tessa, Rome, Nieves |

Archer smiled slightly again, trying to be polite to the "waiter"
who replied to him when he mentioned it being a long day. The
detective watched him disappear and reappear again with his new
drink. "Thank you." He stated slowly, as Rome
set the drink down upon the table. His eyes moved from his new drink
back to the "waiter", who he guessed was actually the restaurants cook
instead, as the other man spoke. "More fries, on the house?" Was what
he said, before the detective could answer his phone buzzed once more,
and again. Archer rolled his eyes before he replied to the man beside
him, "No, but thank you for the offer, I better get going.
" He smiled softly, grateful for the offer. He quickly got out his
wallet, taking out the money that he needed for his meal, with an added
tip of ten dollars. Arch quickly finished his drink, regretting not being
able to savour it, his phone went off again. "Thank you."
The detective said somewhat loudly, addressing Rome as he
prepared himself to go, he smiled at Tessa also, giving her a small
wave before he made his way out of the restaurant. He pulled up his
coat collar, as held his phone in his hand. He quickly sent a text to
Tessa "Who's your friend?"

"does that mean you're gunna come stop me?" "better get here quick,
big cat, unless you wanna see me on the morning news. mommy's bored,
i need some entertainment." Archer read the first two messages, he smirked
to himself, making his way over to where Nives currently was. The detective
punched out his first reply, "I wouldn't dare." Followed
by a quick, "I think you're forgetting my profession, it is my job
to stop people doing things, so watch your step."
He went on to read
the final text, the one which was sent a few moments after the first two.
This time is was a picture handbag followed by the caption "do you think this is cute?".
Arch turned the corner to where Nives was, sending his final text
"It's not really my style."
He replied smirking as he studied the shop fronts
ahead of him. He entred the one that he deduced they were in, he was right, the
detective watched Nieves. "What do you think you're doing."
Archer said in his "detective voice", leaning against the nearest wall,
watching the socialite closely, a smirked placed upon his face.

She couldn't help but grimace as she heard yelling from the kitchen for the food to be brought. Everything sounded like muddled and chaotic gibberish to her, she hated it, she couldn't understand everything. She sighed and dragged herself over, taking the three plates of food and walking hurriedly over to the customers, she held the plated tightly, horrified of the thought of dropping them. Jocelyn gently set them down Infront of the customers, slightly getting annoyed as one of then grumpily told her that the plate belonged to the person that was sat next to them. Couldn't these people just accept the fact that they're grouchy and had a bad day and not throw their bad mood onto her? She couldn't stand it, she hadn't seen the slightest smile nor heard the murmur of a thankyou all week, she felt as if she was in a hell hole where everyone was doomed to have a frown on their face.
She couldn't help but complain to herself, she wasn't one to vent, but she did always recognise what was deeply annoying and make a mental list of all the things that were giving her a bad day. She would finish work, come home to small, lonely apartment and stay there until her next shift. It was quite infuriating to say the least as she was stuck in this routine that she greatly disliked.

█▛ Elliot [004]

Postby borahae. » Tue Jan 22, 2019 10:27 am

    xxxx▬▬▬𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐓 𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐍
    xxxxsinger • cismale • twenty-two • homosexual • location: the bar • tags: giancarlo

Sitting up taller in his seat as the male opposite of him eyed him, feeling partially bashful under the obvious stare of Giancarlo, Elliot continued to exude his ever lasting confidence and showed off an audacious grin, tilting his chin upwards as if putting himself further on display. He had to admit, he could used to this kind of attention; for once not receiving looks of judgement and disgust, and instead appearing intriguing to someone. Or, if he was lucky, those brown eyes might even have a hint of affection.
Uncontrollably flushing at Giancarlo's words, an unfamiliar feeling flooding his small body, Elliot's grin turned into a large and heartfelt smile as he responded to the beautiful human being across from him "Well thank you, darling."
At least now he could assert that Giancarlo was not opposed to on-call flirting (if that's what Elliot was doing): if the lady's daring approach didn't make it obvious enough, his clear cut statement certainly spelled it out. Well, maybe not completely- but at least Elliot knew for a fact that Giancarlo wasn't against homosexuality. That was enough to encourage the flamboyant singer.

Watching his partner pick up his glass, laughing as Giancarlo then downed the shot and making it clear to Elliot that he'd perhaps had a few drinks prior to their interaction, the singer shook his head teasingly and uncrossed his legs, adjusting his high waisted jeans and fur trimmed overcoat until he was once again comfortable before speaking up "Is this a date then, dear Giancarlo? You certainly are savvy with your intentions." Unafraid to tease a little, generally in his nature, Elliot waved a hand to put emphasis on the room before continuing his prior statement "Though I'm afraid you might've already dismissed your own standards. Not that I mind, of course; feel free to loosen up."

Standing from his seat as Giancarlo dismissed the thought of boredom, the singer chuckling at the other male's words, Elliot traveled over to stand beside the scientists chair before holding a hand out, jutting his hip to the right with his other hand resting just above "C'mon then, doll. This evening isn't over just yet; not even close." Offering his hand to help the other stand up, Elliot tucked a stray piece of his shoulder length hair behind his ear with his other hand and shot Giancarlo a cheeky grin, a lustful look in his eyes as the short statured male stood before the attractive lady.

Rome nodded as Archer declined his offer, assuming he was just in a hurry. He seemed nice, sort of reserved like himself, but nice nonetheless. "Have a nice night." He said genuinely, rather than just because he had to for his job. Rome hadn't noticed that the man had left a tip until he was near the exit. He stared down at the money and blinked a couple of times, wanting to say something, but hesitating. He didn't really get tipped all that often, maybe a handful of times, especially if an older couple felt bad for him. He looked back at the exit to see if Archer was still there, but he was gone. "oh," he said quietly to himself, hesitating once again to pocket the money. It was very normal to tip those who served you, but he was no server. It still felt weird to him, almost like he was stealing.

The man cleared his throat and returned to his friend Tessa, taking a quick look around to make sure no one new had walked in. He took this opportunity to have a proper sit down, pulling out a chair across from Tessa and taking a seat. He smiled at her and fiddled with his thumbs. "He was cool." He said to her, referring to her friend who'd just left. He pulled out his phone and set it on the table before checking the time. Nodding to himself, he looked back to the girl across from him. "Elliot and his mysterious partner should be coming soon." Once again, as if it were a requirement every time Elliot's mystery person was brought up, he wiggled his eyebrows with a giggle. Whoever this person was, he actually was sort of excited to meet them, and to see Elliot again. It felt like it had been awhile.
