the room was damp, and dark. and it stank of some unidentifiable odor. and vivenne kallhoff couldn't remember a thing.
she couldn't move, couldn't process anything other than the sounds and smells around her charcoal prison. She wasn't even sure if her eyes were open, let alone if this were a dream or reality. faint sloshing and the quiet creak of whatever she was in gently rocking from side to side, like a cradle would to lull a child to sleep. but vivenne cordelia was no child, and she was certain she wasn't tucked into her lavish sheets back home. It was then that the soft chuckle of another reached her straining ears and finally she seemed to be capable of breath and movement.
Lurching upward she growled low teeth bared and every fiber of her being on edge. Her cold violet gaze scanned every crevice of her surroundings, left in darkness her eyes weren't pleased as she struggled to identify where this other being was, or whether it's mangled noise was a figment of her own imagination.
"so the deary wakes at last." it gurgled and finally her gaze set on a pair of swirling multi-colored eyes that had nothing but curiosity and excitement in them. The being did little to control it's emotions as a pearly white grin appeared just below it's swirling, entangling gaze.
"welcome to my cage little lady." it slyly cooed as if hoping to entice her nearer than she already was.
"whom am i speaking with?" vivenne tested, almost curiously as she only physically relaxed her stance. Mentally her teeth were ground sharp and her hands were ready to wrap themselves around the other being's spindly neck.
"theophilus bertrand osterlund. at your service." it spoke rather proudly, it's gaze appearing to caress vivenne.
"and whom might you be?" theophilus's voice slick and smooth, like a snake slithering across sand.
"vivenne cordelia kallhoff, not entirely charmed to make your acquaintance." she dryly spat her eyes watching the goggling form in the corner.
"well aren't you the wicked one hm." it was perceptive, well maybe it could be perceptive enough to let her out or at least tell her where she was.
"where in the blazes have you taken me, all i remember is going to bed, i assume last night." she hissed, outraged that one would dare mess with the duchess of death, or as most preferred the daughter of death.
"I know not the nature the mother brings us gifts, but you my dear have been chosen. Whether or not you like it, in due time you'll learn all you require to know. For now sit back, and relax. it's going to be a while until the mother returns home." vivenne couldn't believe her ears, this fiend was denying her basic rights. telling her to shut up and sit in the corner, to be patient. she'd show that sniveling brat. vivenne rose and snarled charging towards the shadows, but was put off immediately and balked out as the eyes and smile turned to a full on boa, goggles dangling from his forehead, and goop dripping from limb to limb, he easily out matched her two to one. He was huge and he filled her sight like water filling a bowl.
"easy there mrs. kallhoff. i'd hate for you to die before we can even get to headquarters." he warned with a sly grin.
"whose headquarters?" the boa smiled such a wicked and devilish smile, vivenne for once questioned her own principals, there was no way she was speaking with the devil himself right?
"mine." he whispered and to vivenne's back a tank window opened revealing that they were underwater, and fast approaching a cliff. As they approached the underwater cave, it dropped open to reveal a cavern that the sub easily traveled into.
"welcome to the V.C.R.A." theophilus whispered with a grin unlike any she'd ever seen.
