Rome had felt his phone buzz in his pocket once again, but was preoccupied with trying to get the stain of pasta sauce out of the back of his shirt. He assumed the text was coming from Elliot anyways confirming his order, so like he usually did, he completely forgot to check at all and went searching through the cabinets for any type of cleaning agent that could help his shirt. After not really finding one, he sighed, but soon was distracted when the doors to the kitchen swing open. Rome re-tucked his shirt and walked over to them to reveal it was the hostess. She was new, but they complained about management together all the time, so he liked having her around. She smiled at Rome and said, "There's a person up front named Tessa looking for you." Rome assumed it would be Elliot but was pleasantly surprised to know Tessa was going to be here as well. ''Oh! okay, thanks," He said as he re-tied his apron from the back and dusted off the front of his chest.
He followed the hostess out of the swinging kitchen doors and saw Tessa up front. Rome smiled to her and approached her before turning his head to look at the available tables. Tonight it wasn't as busy as it was on regular nights, but Rome was more than fine with that. He brought her to a table, not forgetting to grab a menu for her, and seated her. "Honestly, I'm ready to get outta here, so just order whatever you want and I'll put it on the house." Rome chuckled a little as he said this and leaned against the table. Though as he did, he realized only a few tables away there was Archer, a man he had never really seen around here before. Clearing his throat, he stopped leaning on the table and stood up straight, smiling to him politely before turning away. He had to at least pretend like he wasn't giving out free food and doing whatever here. despite all his talk, he actually really enjoyed his job and didn't want someone to overhear and get him fired. He cleared his throat and bent down so he could whisper, "I hope i didn't say that too loud." to Tessa. He chuckled, undoubtedly a little nervously, and straightened his posture.

Admittedly feeling partially self-confident and authoritative as the darling male began towards his table, a slight flush starting in on his olive-toned skin as he suddenly remembered his lack of knowledge in these types of situations, Elliot sat up in his seat and propped an elbow onto the table, resting his chiseled chin on the back of his hand. He wasn't one to feel bashful after realizing a fault, but something about this long-coming interaction made Elliot feel the pressure of needing to be perfect; after all, first impressions were everything. Previously unaware of the male's lab coat, but quickly taking note when the male was up close, Elliot grinned cheekily and held no hesitation in taking Giancarlo's hand, swooning at the charm of the male's low and melodic voice "Well hello, darling. I'm Elliot." His voice holding a slight lisp due to the vast space in his mouth, his large overbite and extended front teeth at fault, the Egyptian male lightly grazed the lady's characteristic nail polish and broke eye contact enough to take a mental picture of the moment of their hands touching before pulling his back and facing Giancarlo once again "And I would love a drink."
Putting both arms on his lap, leaning himself back up against the back of the chair, Elliot smiled at the scientist and cheerily rambled on to his new guest about his passions, raising one of his hands in the air as a way to flag one of the bartenders for a mere moment before returning it to his lap "You know, this place has the most exquisite Espresso Martini's. And though I can't defend much else, the service here is quite lovely." His smile exposing his teeth and making him feel rather self conscious, Elliot tried to casually tuck his upper lip over his front teeth and was glad when a female bartender came over, ready to take their order. Linking his long and slim fingers together in his lap, Elliot tilted his chin upwards and turned towards the blonde as he listed off his request "An espresso martini for me, dear. Oh, and do go sparing with the vodka; I still have to function enough to make it back home." Turning to Giancarlo as he finished, that same cheeky look on his face, Elliot tucked a piece of his long mane behind his ear and waited patiently as the scientist made his order.
Hearing his phone vibrate on the table, Elliot quickly reached forward and grabbed it off the grimy bar table top, looking at Rome's message and responding as his table partner was busy making his decision You know me all too well Attaching a kissy face emoji at the end as a way to humor himself, the eccentric male huffed aloud in amusement before thinking to himself and adding another small bit Actually, make that two, if you could. Consider it an I-O-YOU.
Setting his phone back down on the table face down, Elliot watched as the bartender made her exit and quickly spoke back up to Giancarlo, his attention stolen away by the other male's stunning eyes "So, what is a lady such as yourself doing in a place like this? If I dare say, it seems quite unfitting."

the hostess took her name and disappeared into the back, leaving tessa to lean against the stand a little more. she reached into her purse, pulled out a mirror and the only lipstick she was carrying at the moment, a deep red that she loved and knew would, at the very least, distract people from the rest of her harried appearance. her eyes swept over the restaurant as she smacked her lips together and put her mirror back.
at the sight of rome, she smiled broadly. between him and elliot, tessa felt like her two dear friends kept her close to the edge of sanity that her father had insisted that artists teetered on. she had rolled her eyes at him at the time, but the last few weeks she had started to feel the truth of the statement. rome led her to a table and sat her down, handing her a menu. she laughed when he said he was just about ready to get out. "well, i literally can't sit in my apartment for another minute so maybe we'll find something fun to do," she said, looking the menu over quickly. she pretty much already knew what she wanted; she really only ordered a few things. but she wanted to check to see if there was anything new.
"there's got to be something fun to do in this stupid city," she said folding the menu and looking back up at rome, whose attention was elsewhere. she followed his gaze and was a little surprised to see archer sitting at another table a little further down. it wasn't a place that she had been expecting to see him, but she didn't know why. she smiled broadly and raised her hand to give a little wave in greeting, before looking back up at rome and laughing at his comment about how loud he was talking. "do you know him?" she asked, flicking her eyes towards archer.

⤷ felix had stayed at the office he worked at well into the night, preparing and examining financial records. he sat hunched over his desk, vacant gaze barely focused on the computer screen before him. based on the heavy drop of his eyelids, he thought it might be time to call it quits. the fact that he hadn't been able to process a single thing correctly within the past twenty minutes was getting a tad bit worrying. felix sighed and shut off his computer with a satisfied click. he took a moment to stretch his sore and aching limbs, likely due to the sheer amount of time spent in the same position. that was just a part of the job he supposed, as being an accountant wasn't exactly an athletic venture.
felix slipped on his coat and unpocketed his phone to check for any new notifications. the screen was blank. it didn't exactly come as a surprise to him, his focus as of late was admittedly more on his career than on his social circle. that really needed to change though, because felix wasn't sure how he was going to survive without social interaction. he unlocked his phone and reluctantly began to search through his contacts. there had to be someone he could message, someone that might be free. the answer to his ventures appeared in a name - tessa. he had met her fairly recently and felt she was quite fun, if a little nosy. deciding it was infinitely better than spending his night alone, felix typed out a quick message and slipped his phone back into his pocket.

Twenty-two years. / Cis-male. / Gay. / Happy. / Tags: Tessa, Archer. / Local cook.
Rome raised a brow as he looked at Tessa. "Hm?'' he looked back at Archer for a second, as if he needed to make sure he didn't know him, before shaking his head and looking back at Tessa. "I don't think I've seen him a day in my life. Do you?" He asked with a brow raised. As he asked, he took a small look around and noticed a new group of people had taken a seat on the other side of the restaurant. They already had their drinks and judging by the fact all of them were about half empty or gone, they'd probably be ordering in a second. He huffed to himself and looked at his friend. "I'm gonna have to get on that. I'll be back."
He walked away from his friend's table and back to the kitchen where, surely enough, the waitress joined him not much more than a few seconds later. She tore off the small piece of paper with all their meal information on it and slid it to Rome on the countertop. Rome smiled at her, almost a little sympathetically as he could tell she was tired, and took the slip to read over. He actually really liked cooking, it was something he had done a lot in his life but never really talked about. While it wasn't the reason he moved to NYC, it was still a nice plus that he could do more of what he really enjoyed.
It didn't take him long at all to prepare their food, they all ordered the restaurant's most popular dishes, so making said dishes became second nature to Rome. Once again making sure everything was presentable, he wiped the rims of all the plates and let the waittress know it was ready. This time, he wouldn't bring it out himself, but instead returned to Tessa's table and huffed, wiping his forehead with the back of his forearm as if he'd ran a mile. Rome pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked the time, nodding to himself. "I'm off in like two hours, so we'll find something fun to do, aaand then do it." He told Tessa, returning his phone to his pocket. "It usually gets slow around this time anyways, unless someone decides to come in right at closing." He rolled his eyes at this, fiddling with the ends of his apron. This reminded him of the large sauce stain on his back. "Ooh, I might wanna change before we do anything though." Suddenly he was very aware of his appearance, and took a subtle look around to make sure no one was staring. White shirts and red sauce did not go well together.
Just as he was thinking about this, his phone buzzed. He got it back out and saw the text was from Elliot. A sort of confused look crossed his face as Elliot insinuated there would be someone else. Rome looked up from his phone and averted his attention to Tessa. "Oh yeah, Elliot is coming by probably soon-ish. And.. it seems like he's bringing someone else." He smiled as he said this, wiggling his eyebrows teasingly before leaning down and saying in a soft voice, "Ooh la laaaaa." He couldn't help but laugh halfway through as he spoke, straightening his posture. His giggles continued into the beginning of his next sentence, "So, I'm sure he and whoever he may be bringing may want to hang out as well."

again she looked over at archer. "uh, yeah i used to get lunch with him a lot," she replied quickly, somehow taken off guard by the question. "when i worked in that city office? he's a detective and it was right beside his precinct so i saw him all the time at that dinky little sandwich place i loved." halfway through her last sentence she realized that rome was now looking at another table. when he said he had to go she simply nodded and smiled at him. "no worries, do your thing," she said, waving him off and giving a little laugh.
just to make it look like she was actually doing something of value, tessa looked back at the menu, letting her eyes rake over the selection. her phone buzzed and she smiled, seeing a text from felix. she hadn't spent a ton of time with the accountant yet, but he was a positive person and tessa loved people like that. she tried to be a person like that, though she knew she fell short sometimes. i'm out with some friends, you wanna join? xo she replied, looking up when rome appeared by her table again.
she almost burst out laughing at rome's antics. "ooh, scandalous, maybe i'll have to chaperone for them," she said as she too started to laugh, holding the back of her hand against the underneath of her chin, her elbow planting firmly on the table. she held up her phone and shook it back and forth a little as she looked up at rome again. "you mind if we have another addition?" she asked, a little apology writing itself on her face.

▕ GIANCARLO DE LA VEGA
pronouns he/him or they/them location the bar tagging elliot
as for giancarlo, he stuck with his usual whiskey. he liked to consider himself a simple lady in that sense. he nodded politely back to the bartender as she left, then pulled out the chair he was leaning against and sat down. this man, elliot, looked like he'd walked straight out of a fantasy- even the clothes suited him, and that said a lot- and giancarlo couldn't help but feel a bit shocked that elliot was even giving him the time of day. then again, carlo had also offered to buy the man alcohol, and in his experience, giving someone free alcohol could get you approximately everywhere.
giancarlo chuckled under his breath at elliot's question, folding his hands on the table. "could ask you the same- why're you singing here and not selling out arenas?" he asked, preferring to divert the subject back to elliot. someone had told him once that it was rude to change the subject to avoid answering questions, but giancarlo would rather have a nice night with an attractive guy than spill his whole life story to the poor man. he wasn't quite that drunk yet.
the waitress returned rather quickly with their drinks, and giancarlo thanked her as he paid for both his drink and elliot's. she left just as quickly, too- just another small thing for carlo to be thankful for. he watched her for a second, then brought his glass to his lips, really considered how much he'd already had to drink, and set it back down. somehow, in the same breath, he managed to regret not doing anything to look decent to-day- not that there was really much that could be done. he maybe could've ran a brush through his mess of hair or actually shaved or... something, but in carlo's experience, there wasn't much that could be fixed about having the body type of a penguin and absolutely no real sense of fashion.
▕ NIEVES SIMON-SANTOS
pronouns they/them location fifth avenue tagging archer/open
nieves had a particular hatred for being alone. they hated it almost as much as they hated this generation of self-proclaimed paparazzi, who followed them around to upload videos of them doing perfectly normal things to twitter. they hated being alone almost that much, but not quite, because that was a special kind of hatred. right now, though, they felt like they were about to lose it, because they were leaning up against the side of a store on fifth avenue with a half smoked cigarette in one hand and they'd somehow managed to evade drawing anyone's attention- and that just didn't work for them.
with a dramatic sigh, nieves dropped what was left of their cigarette on the sidewalk and stomped it out under a bright pink stiletto heel. they watched the people walk by for a moment longer, then reached into the pocket of their fur coat, pulling out their phone and quickly finding archer's contact. their acryllic nails clicked against the screen as they typed out a quick message to him, "i'm about to cause a scene on fifth avenue." then, nieves hit send and shoved their phone back in their pocket, leaning against the wall again and waiting for something to happen.

Celeste looked in the mirror. She looked pretty casual for New York nights in a white crop top and ripped jeans. She brushed down her hair so her waves would be a little less much. She sighed looking in the mirror and gave a shrug of oh well. She rushed down her apartment complex stairs to get a taxi.
Soon she arrived at one of the local bars. Which wasn't too packed for the time of night. She wiped her eyes and hopped out of the taxi. She stood outside for a minute and pressed against the wall before entering. She sighed and took deep breaths so she didn't become too antisocial. Her brown hair draped down past her shoulders. She stood to breathe steadily checking her phone for any messages from family, business inquiries, etc. Her brown eyes searched for familiar things to calm herself so she wouldn't be so anxious for a new place.
this is tiny oops

Archer McAllister
| 26 | Closeted Homosexual | Detective | Location; The Restaurant
| Feeling; Tired | Tagged; Tessa, Rome, Nieves |
Arch gave Tessa a slow nod, lifting his hand slightly off the table
in a small wave. His eyes wandered over to the man at her side who
also acknowledged him with a smile, the detective smiled back, a
small somewhat crooked smile. He knew that the other man worked
at the restaurant, but he didn't know a great deal about him, which
was surprising seeing as knowing things about people is Archer's speciality.
He slowly turned back to his meal; scratching the back of his neck with
his left hand, a fry in the other, slowly eating a few more bites.
His eyes drifted around the restaurant again, watching both Tessa and
Rome for a moment, before looking around the rest of his location,
watching those who were currently in the establishment. Archer
finished off his meal, his glass was also empty, unfortunately, the
detective needed to be heading home, but he always had time for
one more drink. He turned around in his chair slightly, trying to get
the male workers attention, he could tell that he wasn't a waiter but
Archer decided that it was worth a try, he wanted to quickly down
his final drink and the leave.
His phone buzzed, the sound catching him off guard, he pulled his phone
out of his inside coat pocket with a huff, hoping it wasn't anything work
related. Archer read the text slowly, it was from Nieves. "i'm about to
cause a scene on fifth avenue." was what is said, the detective shook
his head with a smirk that he tried to hold back. Archer texted back,
with a short "Oh really." Followed by another text "You better not do
anything before I get there." He added . The blond haired man couldn't
really be bothered to attend yet another scene caused by Nieves but,
truth be told, Archer did love a good fight, he was a man who didn't
mind getting his hands dirty. The detective had become Nieves personal
unofficial bodyguard, that role had been bestowed upon him, to attend
the socialites parties, lurk in the background, to see and hear everything
and anything. He definitely needed that second drink now.

Admittedly taking more interest in the other male's drink than necessary, deeming the whiskey as another addition to Giancarlo's mysterious and alluring aura, the short-statured male raised his brows momentarily and snuck another sly smile onto his face. Maybe it was his biased opinion, partially led on by his intense attraction towards Giancarlo, but Elliot felt as if no one else in the entire world could compare to the scientists charisma/looks; and though his table partner was rather disheveled, something about that made him that much more tempting.
Sitting up taller at the Italian male's chuckle, giving Elliot encouragement, the eccentric singer let out his own laugh and happily took a sip at his drink before answering "Well, I've been told by my band mates up there that a lot can be blamed on my teeth, but I assume it to be their way of not singling out my overwhelming homosexuality." Unafraid of judgement from Giancarlo, as he was of anyone in general, Elliot didn't catch on to the other male's blatant avoidance method and simply continued to add on to his statement "I suppose I can be considered quite strange. And I think that people have a hard time understanding it: Or, well, me. But maybe one day."
Noting Giancarlo's sudden uninterest in his order, growing curious as to why, Elliot took another swig of his martini before speaking back up "Mmm, thank you for this, doll. It's quite a treat. But, if I may, why aren't you partaking? I can't help but to wonder if I might be boring you." Smiling self consciously, part of him believing his statement and praying for it to be wrong, Elliot adjusted his seat so his jeans weren't digging into his ribs and quickly tried to find a solution to his love's lack of comfort "If this isn't really your scene, I know the perfect place a few blocks down that could ease your mind. A friend of mine works there, and cooks the most divine Italian assortments; consider it me returning the favor" Tilting his chin in a characteristic and questioning way, the flamboyant male gestured towards his martini with one of his slim figured hands before shooting a charming smile towards Giancarlo.
