(( the response order's a lil funky here, but I hope it still makes sense @v@ ))
Azura Tian | genderless (they/them or he/him) | 35 | dragon breath
adviser | location: near the holding van | tags: Niamh, the Gifted
Azura simply grunted in response to Niamh, nodding slowly. They glanced from her, to the other girl, who called herself Autumn, then into the interior of the van, where a few were still lingering. One of the Gifted seemed to be unconscious, just barely supported by a pale, green-eyed youth. Fortunately, neither seemed seriously injured - same as the rest, despite their somewhat ragged appearances. From within, Sen - who had realized Azura's presence before they did, shrank away, hiding in the shadows. To Sen's benefit, the mask helped hide their face for now - they would have to plan their escape another time.
"Why are you here?" Azura asked, after surveying the van of Gifted. "You had a checkride* today!"
"It's not what you think!! Well... okay. It, uh. The situation wasn't that great either." Lazuli gulped. "But I didn't even get to see my instructor! And it wasn't
my fault that
jerk-."
Azura held up a hand, as if having heard enough. They sighed deeply, rubbing the bridge of their nose with two fingers.
"We will discuss this later, in my office when you have time. Most importantly... are you alright? Did they hurt you?" Azura said, voice soft.
"No, not really." Lazuli said. Azura nodded solemnly and looked at the others. After Ariana gave her speech, Azura lifted a hand, clearing their throat (they immediately regretted doing that, as it hurt like hell).
"I am Azura - another of the advisers here. I mostly specialize in non-combat related skills, namely in recognizing and understanding how an ability interacts with your body and how it impacts your health." Azura said, slightly louder so that the group could hear them. "Having powers isn't just a risk to others - it can greatly impact you, as well, especially if you do not know what you are doing with your power. Often times, our very biology is altered to accommodate for such strange abilities. As expected, regular medical facilities are not equipped to deal with this. Should you have any health concerns or questions, feel free to come to my office."

Lazuli Tian | female | 25 | wings manifestation
gifted | location: outside the van | tags: Niamh, Autumn
Lazuli turned to Niamh while Azura spoke to the others. "Nah, doesn't hurt at all. Especially since these are the wings I summon for combat purposes, the feathers detach really easily. They're more like an overglorified pair of bludgeoning weapons... with a bunch of knives to go with!"
With a slight puff of wind, the wings folded down and shrank down, retracting back into the spaces just behind her shoulder blades. A few sharpened feathers retained solidity, floating gently onto the ground. Retracting always felt stranger than extending, Lazuli thought and sometimes some feathers would get stuck outside. Some of her shirts had concealed slits in the back - for convenience and when Azura would check up on them. How they were able to shed their feathers so quickly and retract into Lazuli's back - then extend again while growing a full set of new feathers was still a mystery to the two of them - the only thing that seemed to stay consistent were the two wing limbs themselves.
"And, uh... hi!" Lazuli gave a hasty wave to the one called Autumn. She turned to Niamh again.
"Dinner doesn't sound too bad, either. I could really do with some grub. Maybe we can take a look at the facility grounds after a hot meal?" Lazuli cheerily suggested. "And, uh. I didn't quite catch what your ability was, but if it's not an elemental thing, maybe you'll end up training with my uncle? We could hang out a bit more that way! I could really do with a friend here. I mean. If you want! And uh. Same to you, Autumn, if you'd like that. I know we all haven't really talked much yet, but it wouldn't hurt to stick together, yeah?"
