Have you ever had any interesting scar stories? I recently had to get a gastrostomy button and whenever it comes out I'll be left with a scar over my stomach, so I'm a bit curious.

I was born without a tear duct in one of my eyes so I have a tiny little scar near my eye to this day

I've had 5 total! I've actually had nicknames themed after the Hamilton musical, The Hunger Games books, and One Direction over the years!

Pets with IDs that don't match their adoption date are pets that have been re-created.
There are several reasons this may be done. The most common incidents are those where pets were deleted against the owner's will (for example because they were hacked), or because the original pet was lost in a scam trade, but has been traded around so much that a simple trade reversal is no longer possible.
These pets will have the same age/adoption date as the originals, but since an ID number cannot be assigned to more than one pet, the re-created copy will instead receive a new ID.

I've been listening to "Nightdrive" by Mary PopKids and the one lyric "heartbreak is a long time friend" really got to me. I kind of saw it as 'heartbreak is a long time, friend" which reminded me of when my first boyfriend of a few years randomly broke up with me, I felt like I could never really get over it. Hearing the lyrics the way I did was like someone telling me feeling this way can happen for a while, but it's normal and you can move on.

Before I make this answer too long, here's a few of my other favourite lyrics:

I would choose Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. I can't help but adore her character simply because she's basically lost everything she cared about but became such a strong and badass character out of it all. Plus bonus points because she's got dragons.

When I was very young, I was at a wave pool that had a cement bottom and was lightly covered in sand. My grandmother kept warning me not to run, but every time I saw a wave coming I would run from it. Well, I ran and completely lost my footing. I ended up skidding on my palms, elbows and knees. I now have scars on my elbows and knees that are only beginning to not be as noticeable anymore. Needless to say, I have never gone to a wave pool since. xD

To any staff:
What was it like applying for staff? Did you actually think you were going to get staff? What was it like when you got in?

I was a little nervous this time around. I applied and figured it was worth a shot, as I had been following the application openings for a while. I've applied many times before when I was much younger and never got accepted, but this time I felt I had the right experience and it was the right time. I can't remember how many times I edited my application but I wanted to give myself the best chance by putting as much effort as possible into it.
When Sorren messaged me I was so surprised and excited! I didn't believe it at first and it took a while to completely sink in, but I'm glad I applied and took all that time working on my application so I can be here today. <3

Subject: Small change to rarity bar graphics

Just a quick question, as I'm interested in front-end website development.

I'm assuming that the VC bar was just a simple image reupload, replacing the previous VC bar, but what about the custom bar?

Did you manually have to assign the tag to them? Or is there a row in the SQL database that says if a pet is a custom or not and you just did a bit of PHP on the viewpet.php file to say "oh, if this pet of this ID has a value of "yes" in column X (X being the one that says if it's a custom or not), assign it the custom rarity tag."

Sorry if this is a bit confusing! I'm just curious c:

Nick's the coder so my explanation will be a bit vague but essentially - yes you guessed it. They are assigned the custom tag as they've been tagged in the database as customs. Although it looks like a normal rarity tag we've set it up so customs don't display their actual calculated rarity and instead display this tag as a special pet page extra line - and just named it rarity so it blends in. Similar setup for the PPS pets having a special extra line about PPS on their pet pages. In contrast the VC update is simply swapping a graphic and those pets have no special database tag, it's a true rarity calculation being displayed.

So the "rarity unknown" tag was just the file unsure about the pet's rarity? Interesting. I'm assuming that for rarity updates the file just targets all pets that aren't tagged as customs in the database.

If you have Discord I'd love to ask you a bunch of questions like this, haha.

I'd say the most interesting scar story I have is about the one on my forearm. Around 8ish years ago I was roasting marshmallows & one caught on fire and then subsequently fell on my arm. Needless to say, it was a pretty bad burn but it has always been a "fun fact" about myself since lol
